You should buy and try Final Fantasy VII Remake. Its amazing and optimized for the Steam Deck. Its a hella fun game.

@Travis Smith not really, been buying everything on steam sales and humble bundles. I haven't paid full price for anything on my deck yet. Plus I haven't sold any games in years, so I'm not losing anything on the trade in front at all. Still have my PS5 and XSX, the steam deck basically just killed my switch and is the perfect thing to lounge around and play on

If you haven't discovered it yet the Steam Deck has its own very good joystick sensitivity setting in the controller settings, just press the cog beside the stick you want to adjust and play around with the settings available under sensitivity to find something you like. Can do it before launching the game, but in this case you're probably better off using the steam menu while the game is running to see how the changed settings affect the gameplay.

I’ve tweaked my settings but I just can’t aim with controller. After using mouse and keyboard for like 10 years, I can’t do it anymore 😅

Thanks for sharing your experience! Many games you shown, I do also have on my deck. Can´t wait for end of month, soon, Uncharted Legacy of Thieves will arrive on Steam. ;) Interestingly enough: Stardew Valley is suffering from some bad slowdowns on my Xbox One X, but running smooth as butter on the Deck. 😧 I prefer to play on locked 30fps/reduced TDP in handheld mode, to preserve battery lifetime.

damn that's crazy! I'm definately getting this. this video completely changed my view of this thing. I can already imagine myself playing GTA V, Witcher 3, Terraria, Orcs must die 3, Far cry 3, all the halo games, JC 3, GTA 4 and plenty of other games on this device. this is actually incredible.

@@who7950 just got it a few days ago and it's just perfect honestly. It runs games actually very well and much better than expected. it's just very good to play all of my steam library on the go.
@TarTimOoAl how do you think, is it worth buying the 512 gb version, or it's better to get the 64gb + microSD
@@BS-jf4yb I myself bought the 256 version because it comes with an SSD as opposed to a regular hard drive for the base storage but i would recommend going for either the 64gb or the 256 gb version and buying amicro SD card because i heard that the non-reflective screen isn't as nice because even though you won't have to worry so much about sun or lights, the colors aren't as nice on the non-reflective screen of the 512. I think the screen on the 256/64 is really nice so it has honestly had no issues for me. If you're ok with having a hard drive for base storage i suggest you get 64 and a big micro sd card because you will save quite a nice sum of money aswell. Highly recommend it!😊

I liked you more and more as the video went on. You really should give Oblivion and New Vegas a shot sometime. They're the best game from each of those series (other than Skyrim obv) Far Cry 2 is still my fav even though 3 did some things better. Ive mainly always been a PC guy but Halo 2 and 3 on the 360 were my first 2 multiplayer console games. So many good memories. I never find time to game lately because Im always gone with work and other things. I've watched a ton of these steam deck videos but yours was what has finally convinced me to get one. Helped me remember how many of these games I have sitting in my Library that I want to jump back into. Thanks!
Honestly, moreso than the performance of the games, the thing that stands out on the steam deck for me is how good those speakers are. The audio is so clear, pretty loud, and detailed to say that it's going through your mic and out of my phone speakers

Hey, do you game on your SD card a lot ? Were some of these games running off of it ? I can't really afford the top tier steam deck but i can get the 64gb one and a good SD card, i was wondering how good stuff would run in the long run and not just "oh it loads fine" tests

Right now, im putting a lot of time into Orcs must die 3, GTA V and Far Cry 3! They all play fantastic on the deck!
Idk if everyone else is like me, but when I watch people test games it helps to also see temps. Maybe I’m foolish, but I like to scale games down to make sure they aren’t running at 90c+ temps.

I'm personally playing Tomb Rider (2013) right now with my deck, i found that using proton 7.0.4 is more stable than using experimental or the 6.0 versions, i noticed that when using those (specially experimental) it tends to just hammer down a single core for no reason, and causing severe performance issues, running it on ultra at 40hz 40fps almost rock solid, when loading some shaders or in certain scenes filled with different lights and shadows it tanks a bit.

The only other game i could try is FFXIV and that's already been proved to work without issues.
If you are salty because you didn't get one earlier or you just don't like it thats on you, but don't spread missinformation please, it makes you look like a fool and confuses people that might want to get one.
If you don't like steam os you can always install windows on it and you will be able to play all those abusive anticheat infested games, even Destiny 2 runs at 60fps on it!
