      anouk ivory films Yes, I always get annoyed reading CZcams comments on old films from past decades that don’t offer insight by saying “they don’t make good movies like this anymore.” Far from the truth actually.

      @mattteomatei3610 Před 4 lety +9

      I disagree. I think it's the worst time in movie making history. I've only really liked 3-4 movies this decade. I'd say "The Great Gatsby" is the last one, and that was all they way in 2013. "The Green Book" is a fun little movie, but let's be real...if not for the political correctness it would be an 8/10. Same for "The Favourite"- a fun little movie. But nothing more than theater on a cinema stage (it has like 6 characters).
      Avengers, really? Star Wars? Wakanda? "Interstellar", yes, was good, but lose the "love" part if you want a 9/10. 10/10 is impossible when there was "Contact" 20 years ago with such similar scenes that it stole (think the one in the wormhole with the hand touch of the person outside). Superhero movies shouldn't even count. Yes, the Nolan Batmans were great (though the chase scene in TDK is unwatchable because of the stupidity of some characters), yet no superhero films surpass Zack Snyder's "Watchmen" (not the dumb tv series).
      "The Revenant" was greatly receive and I liked it, but then I found out that it's copy-paste from a Russian movie: czcams.com/video/cpcdhNq_VPM/video.html
      Some people I see mentioning "One Upon a TIme in Hollywood", but I stopped watching any Tarantino flicks after he proved a very deranged individual who must have his black characters either humiliate white boys by giving them forced blowjobs (Hateful Eight) or shooting them in the private parts (Jaime Foxx and Walter Goggins in Django and Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction).
      So, that leaves just "The Great Gatsby", "Cloud Atlas", "Manchester by the Sea", "Arrival" and I also liked movies such as "Prometheus", "Dark Shadows", "Immortals", "Ender's Game", "Gods of Egypt", "Pan"- Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard singing "Smells like teen spirit" was the best scene and it topped the "Show Must Go On" in Moulin Rouge. I even liked "Warcraft". While they are far from perfect, it just bugged me that these movies were all panned by critics. People just can't do art anymore, it's not allowed. Whether it was because not enough egyptians were used in Gods of Egypt or because the Tiger Lily actress was Rooney Mara, somehow these movies were not politically correct enough.
      I don't watch horror as I consider it "fear porn", so I don't know anything about movies in that genre.
      From animated movies, I'd say "Inside Out" is deep and the "Lava" soundtrack is amazing.
      Outside of Hollywood, I was impressed by the Australian "Wyrmwood" (kind of horror but not really), the Italian "La Grande Belezza"- a view into the art and decadence of Rome, the Italian "They call me Jeeg Robot", the Hungarian "Kut" and even the British comedy "Double Date".
      Oh yeah, "The Wold of Wall Street" is from a director I really appreciate, but I just don't like salesmen. They annoy me and I really hated the main character.
      That's it for me. Very little from the 2010s. I used to see many more good movies in the 2000s and the 1990s and 1980s. If you want, I can elaborate with examples.

      @christianlee5666 Před 4 lety +35

      @@mattteomatei3610 I think the problem isn't that they're bad, it's just that the genre is so drastically different from back then. You probably just happen to enjoy the old classic style of films. Also the market is so saturated with films that there are more bad films than good films and thus, giving the impression that there are no good movies.

    • @christianlee5666
      @christianlee5666 Před 4 lety +17

      @@mattteomatei3610 Also the problem is that you are only looking at films based on their story. Sometimes, a film can still be amazing by their visuals, sound design, horror aspect, character interaction, and by social impact.

    • @mattteomatei3610
      @mattteomatei3610 Před 4 lety +3

      @@christianlee5666 Yeah, but you can't consider one movie "great" just because it has " visuals, sound design, social impact." I mean Guardians of the Galaxy is a pop-corn flick, not even really good. It'can't be considered a good movie. Or Transformers. Not even Harry Potter, though that movie's artistic value and its actors (a myriad of English talent) is much better than in many movies which are considered in the video above just because of visuals or social impact.
      I mean...I've said my peace in the above message. Can you tell me what else would you add to "great" movies?

    I loved how it went from one kind of movies or movie scenes to another. Also the music was amazing, i really liked that there was used melody from Creep in those scenes, it just fits so well

    Man I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sound editing in this!! There was this scene how Joker's laugh matched the music that was so incredible!! And the Quiet Place scene with the headphones!! What an incredible video. You put in a lot of work into this and it shows!!!!

    Damn! Really brought the emotion with this edit. Also I love how near the end you put the films as if the world is ending and then showed the scenes to show it is reborn. The end of one is the start of another.

    I've seen a lot of "best of the decade" videos so far, mostly of music, but I can't express how watching this made me feel. It was goosebumps all over and a nostalgia wave that brought me back to every part of the last ten years, and I couldn't be more grateful for this showing up in my recommended. Thank you for capturing everything in such perfect detail, get this guy to work on rewind
