Tectone's dentist experience is exactly why I didn't go to the dentist for almost 18 years. As a child I had to get a cleaning done and it was the worst experience of my life, at the time. So I avoided it until 3 years ago.
Then my wisdom teeth got cavities and I was in the most pain i ever have been. Went to a dentist, got them pulled and the only bad part was the sound.
Then I had my teeth cleaned but was super nervous because I remembered the metal hooks and had shivers. They do it with water vibrating from sound now. The only bad part is it is loud when they got for the back teeth.
Then I had a cavity fixed, was nervous because of damn movies teaching me about the loud shrill piercing sound of the drill. Turns out it is pretty much silent and the only bad part is the smell.
Now I go once a year and actually brush my teeth and I only have one filling and all my teeth, except wisdom teeth. The dentist, at least today with new tools, is actually not bad at all.
The drill sound is still true, unless they used a laser in your case.
Dentistry as a whole has improved immensely since the 90âs. Way less painful and more enjoyable. When i was a kid it was a lot worse.
I mainly watch Asmonâs channel, but I love this podcast because it feels like catching up with your friends and hearing everything theyâve been up to in their communities! đ

Relating to Asmon and Tectone not being able to breath through their nose, I used to have a lot of problems breathing through my nose where it was just permanently blocked, and I couldn't blow my nose to relieve it because as soon as I stopped blowing it would just come right back and sometimes worse. So a lot of the reason why was because I had a shit ton of nasal polips which are little growths throughout my nasal passages and sinuses, but I also had a deviated septum, the wall which seperate your left and right passage.
I got surgery to fix it, I was in there for like 4-6 hours, and as far as I know one polyp has grown back, but I am SOOOO much better than I used to be.
As a side note edit, the operation for me to fix deviated septum wasn't Rhinoplasty but actually Septoplasty, which apon a quick google rhinoplasty is actually the cosmetic variant whereas septoplasty deals with internal bone and cartilage and doesn't majorly effect the look of the nose.

fun fact i learned at my current dentist after 1œ decade of fear of going to the dentist..
apparently they have 4 different kinds of anesthesia. some people are just either immune or have reduced effect of the "standard" one.
first time i was there he just said "oh you're one of those. yeah, some people just have a resistance. we will just mix them up"
was never afraid of the dentist again. after mixing in other types, it worked flawlessly..

I would absolutely watch an OTK ran court case with Mitch as the defendant and a representative of the classic wow subreddit as prosecutor. You could take testimony, cross examine really get to the bottom of what happened. Members of OTK could be judges/lawyers, maybe chat would be the jury.

22:58 as an OG austinite myself I relate to asmon's sentiment here about watching certain parts of town that used to be super ghetto become gentrified. 15 years ago I don't think I'd ever dare walk around most of the east side unless I was from there but now it's becoming all nice condos, cafes, and clubs.

57:00 When I was younger I did want a cosmetic nose job to make it smaller, but a big nope to that these days. đI've accepted the look of myself and I'd definitely question longevity of a procedure like that. That said, getting checked for a deviated septum would be nice. A family member of mine had that dealt with a long time ago without issue.
1:20:15 Tectone idk if you'll like a PVPVE shooter but it has hard guns to use, it's very hardcore, competitive and fun. And not toxic at all. It's called Hunt: Showdown. It's hard to get into (they made it a bit easier recently with a better tutorial), but it's so fun when you do start getting into it. When everything starts clicking, and you start clicking heads, it's so fun!
The reason why i recommend this game is because, i know exactly what you mean with every other shooter being too easy basically. Sometimes you need a bit more spice in life. Don't get me wrong this game ain't perfect, since noobs can still get a lucky headshot even if you're better than them, and you lose, but other than that it's such a fun game.
Had a friend who ended up getting a plasma or plateletes infusion or something. It really matters what kind of balding they are having and how early it is but he went from like 50% hair loss to 80%, not noticable unless you shine a light which is pretty good

Generally rich countries like the US have way higher medical standards that minimize mortality rates. Sure, there is always a certain risk with surgery, but overall that risk should be fairly small in a US clinic.

Techtone i think what you have is polups or polyps itâs little skin growths that grow in your nose. I used to not could breath through my body either. But I had surgery to remove them. Best decision ever
Yes that is also very common in people with deviated septums. Also thought I had bad allergies. Couldnât breathe and constantly stuffed. Got the surgery and it is like new life.
Deviated septum surgery and rhinoplasty isnât close to the same surgery at all.
Only bad thing about deviated septum surgery is you have large tubes up your nose for a week after the surgery and for some people the second week they canât breathe at all through their nose

Septoplasty isn't really a nose job, they basically remove and straighten the inside of your septum and sometimes remove tissue from your sinus so you can breathe the outer appearance of your nose isn't altered. I had it done last year and the recovery was pretty gnarly you blow huge wads of crap out of your nose for weeks but you can breathe and even smell way better. Walking into a grocery store after surgery the bakery smelled amazing
I'm thinking the death rate they mentioned may also be in relation to empty nose syndrome, not meant to be about rhinoplasty
@@lh5520 empty nose syndrome doesn't cause death. There's just been people who committed suicide due to the feeling it causes. Likely the deaths are from anesthesia which is 1 and 100,000

Public service announcement: if you don't get regular cleanings you WILL start to lose bone in your jaw from the bacteria between your gums. It's called periodontal disease. It's extremely common.

In regards to the Rhinoplasty - the 5-7% rate is risk of infection and in turn, increased mortality rate or you getting a fucked up nose. Otherwise, rhinoplasty is considered relatively safe but of course - anything and everything can go wrong (like not waking up from anesthesia)
