I'm glad they filled the surface area of the table with soda to simulate Asmongold's natural habitat.
He was home sick. I get the same way sometimes I couldn't imagine what it'd be like for asmond. The fresh air with no mold spores or a dust ppm above 900. It's beautiful that emi and tekki made him feel at home but it woulda been more homely if they let the soda grow some chunky bois in it first.

I don't drink sugar soda because they have so much sugar, but it's so easy to tell the difference between diet/zero/normal.

They taste different. Difficulty is getting their hands on soda from countries where the available sugar is a specific type because that's pretty much the only way you can get Cola with a different kind of sugar.

At least on the full blind taste test (on Sodas channel) Asmon wasnt able to get anything right. Dont let him forget that.

Dude i have just started watching asmon and even I know that he claimed to not be able to differentiate between Dr Pepper and coke, but that he would be able to know what's diet and what's not.

The thing with with the "Zero Sugar" version specifically, is that it taste close enough. Not exactly like the OG stuff but it's like 80~90% of the way there.
Not the Diet stuff, y'all can keep that dog water. That sh!t's barely 50% of the OGs.
Zero sugar 7up and Sprite is like fucking 99% of the way there. Honestly my favorite zero sugar drinks. Only diet I can stand is diet coke, not bad tbh

Actually Emi was the one that’s right: the lingering taste is the key difference. Sucrose and sweeteners bind to the same taste receptors but sweeteners binds longer. And it’s that slight deviation from familiarity that our brain interprets as “weird” to protect us from poison.

I think you can always taste the difference between real sugar drinks and non-sugar drinks if you really try, like they said there is always a different after taste. That being said, there is a huge difference between "diet" drinks and "zero sugar" drinks. Most of the diet drinks have a slightly different flavor profile.

Someone needs to get Tectone a wireless mic next time. As a broadcast engineer it was killing me that he spent at least 50% of the episode so far forward I could barely hear what he was saying. That being said I love this podcast and you guys are great!

Usually the problem with Tectone's mic is that he has one, putting it behind him seemed to solve the problem. Lost Asmon a couple of times though.
But seriously, I agree about the podcast, I was dubious going into the first episode but it really is entertaining. Was funny as hell when Asmon seemed at home with the bug.
If I have any criticism it would be sometimes they don't focus on the guest enough, but I can see how that could be hard if you're trying to give the impression of four people (or three and a TV) just chatting.
Blind test doesn't usually involve committee decision and discussion about which is which. They confounded their own results by exclaiming what each one is.
Still fun of course, but totally inconclusive due to data pollution.
Verners you guys have to try some time. Its a ginger ale with heavy flavor difference between diet and regular. A lot more ginger and sting on the diet. I never buy diet unless specifically verners is involved.

How could you not tell the diff between diet and regular any soda? Diet is like always over-carbonated and uses fake sugar (aspartame/sucralose) which is super distinct (super sweet flavor compared to regular).
