There are a lot of health concerns with margarine which are mostly justified. Simply substitute margarine with butter at a 1:1 ratio or use other fats or oil such as coconut or olive oil for a product more in line with your health requirements. When making this recipe it was less about making a healthy Cocobread but more about making a Cocobread as close as possible to what I grew up eating as a child and a big part of the distint flavour came from margarine!

My husband would not go to bed 🛌 until it came out of the oven, he always waits when I bake my dinner rolls too he’s a Bread 🥖 man , I enjoy ma a lot of things from scratch , now I can add this to my repertoire! My husband is from Trinidad 🇹🇹 and I’m from the USA 🇺🇸 I enjoy making roti skin too , I just love baking bread from other countries too and this was amazing, he likes hops bread too, I make that for him too and now he really enjoys the Coco bread immensely. Which roti skin recipe do you use? I have been trying several different ways to make all kinds of breads. I have this one fermenting right now. This bread looks like a keeper. What I like about it is it takes a minimal amount of ingredients that are shelf stable ingredients. No yogurt, eggs, or cow milk.( Eggs where almost $5 a dozen ) Some recipes for different kinds fillings using different things that grows naturally or planted in the yard, would be nice. Meatless

Portioned and rolled out this morning, let it proof for around an hour and baked at 350 degrees for 20-ish minutes. Light, fluffy, perfect. A great recipe!

Best beef patties and coco bread spot in Queens - hands down, is Jamaican Flavors. Way better than Golden Krust or any of the other spots. They have 4 locations in Queens. That might be the the restaurant you're referring to. Their beef patties and coco bread is so ridiculously delicious, I used to drive from the middle of Queens all the way to St Albans to get some. Then I discovered they had a spot in the Jamaica bus terminal.

This is the type of coco bread I am use to growing up. I have yet to find this type of coco bread anywhere in the US or Jamaica. I would love to find the old time buttery coco bread.

Finally a recipe for coco bread. My grandmothers family is from Kingston but she came to US in 1916 with her cousin. Even though my mother is half Jamaican and my father was German I feel 100 per cent Jamaican. I have been to Jamaica 8 times. I am now 79 and too old to travel but my memory has many rooms of all the wonderful people I met and the ackee trees and salt fish dish. Happy August 6th Independence Day. Here in Colorado Springs we have many Jamaicans that come to work at the Broadmoor Hotel for the summer. I make them authentic Patties and give them a red stripe to wash it down. I got stung on year while swimming at Doctor's Cave Beach. Hurt like #&@$. As King Bob Marley would sing One Love I thank you for your wonderful video. I subscribed and look forward to seeing all your videos. You made an old lady happy today❤ Irie

This looks so good and this video was nice and easy to follow. I'm intimidated by handling the dough. I always mess up with bread and biscuits at that stage 😆🤦‍♀️

You must be one of the few who knows what coco Bread should be like. Reminds me of the old days in high school and waiting for Mr Chin to bring them out straight from the oven Only like it with cheese or by itself. No pattie. Heard it's origin is Chinese. Best wishes with your channel.

This coco bread looks perfect! I’ve made coco bread with butter but never thought that margarine would give it that flavour that I thought was missing. I’ll try your recipe next time I make some. ❤️
