I think I’m going to try and build a rod locker in my bass tracker. Is a” angle aluminum 1/16th” thick ok? And 5/32 rivets? I’d like to be able to sit on the lid sometimes. The lid will be 1/2” plywood.

Any concerns about removing all of the closed-cell foam? Seems like a little bit of a risk.

Nope. It was waterlogged and deteriorating. Only there to pass USCG inspection to sell. Not even enough to keep the boat afloat if it flipped, and waterlogged it definitely won't.

I did a jon boat last year based on your videos and it turned out great. I just bought an '85 16' Alumacraft Maverick last week, so your video is spot on with my new project (minus a foot!). I even had the same EVA foam picked out before seeing your build. Did you source your tubing for the floor local? Seems that's my biggest hangup right now.
