"I Lied."
Welcome to another 10 minute aluminum boat build from #brigadeboats ! After putting in 250+ labor hours on the El DiabLOWE build I decidedI hadn'thad enough pain and misery. So I decided to do it all again RESURRECT a 1983 Alumacraft Bandit!!!. Hence, the thumbnail "I LIED." , as I don't know when to quitthese boat projects! In this video I will document the transformation of a beat up and left for dead and worn out 17ft Alumacraft aluminum bass boat into a beautiful showstopping rig. Even better, I'll share the entire buildout in just 10 minutes!
In this video, I document the entire 17ft aluminum bass boat build, from start to finish. I show the entire process covering the trailer restoration, gutting boat, wiring, electronics, livewell install, aluminum fabrication and framing, aluminum decking and sheeting, installing aluminum anti flood hatches, eva foam decking, and much much more! Of course, I'll show the tools used and share some tips and tricks along the way! At the end of the video, we take a look at the finished project, which is absolutely stunning! SHOWSTOPPER.
Don't forget to hop on the BRIGADE train and subscribe to the channel! You are a part of what keeps this thing in motion!

WOW! What magic. What beauty. What artistry. The skills need to do all of this are immense. The result is a boat anyone would be proud to own or fish out of. Than you for sharing. God Bless!
Thank you so much 😀 A lot of time dedicated to this project and much more time before it to hone my skills.
you really do have some of the cleanest and best work ive ever seen when it comes to these full boat restorations and builds from scratch. hands down best work ive seen so far on the internet
Awesome build!
Thanks!
Dr. Jones again a work of art! What do you think about recessing the seat base? Just the black bushing sticking up?? No hump under the foam.....
I've thought about this. Simple answer, output is not worth the input. That means the customer is not interested in paying the fab time and detail to achieve this look. For myself, I may do it. Issue is that the plate on the base is way thicker than .090, so not like you can just cut the decking around the plate. You'd literally have to offset the framing within the deck framing to offset about a quarter of an inch, then bolt the base in, then deck completely over it.
Definitely would be a killer detail but its more of a high end mod not necessarily a turn key mod, i mean, this guy didn't even care to paint the boat!
@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats I totally get that. We always look forward to the notification of your new videos. I've learned a ton from you. Thanks man will we see another boat before xmas????
@@ewilfingerPossibly the Sun Dolphin Pro 120 build. It's currently waiting on custom eva foam to be manufactured.
Dang, that looks sick!
Much appreciated!!
Bro this is the most bad ass build!!!!!
I’m looking to buy an older boat to fix up, and I’ll be using your videos for ideas and how to’s.
Very nice! I have a similar project... late 80's 16ft aluminum bass boat that I haven't started yet. Great to see what's possible. One question... did you replace the transom? I'm thinking I should replace it considering its age.
literally exactly what i want to do if i can find one of these aluminum V shaped hulls. would like to make custom seating and cuttouts in between that function as steps to the back deck as well as possibly even a spot for battery storage or just storage in general, cup holders on the sides of the seats towards the outside, compartment for anything important that cant get wet under the steering wheel and even a built in cooler just in front of the steering wheel console for be.... sodas and stuff
great work
Thanks
What foam do u put down under the plywood
Great job on the boat. I’m going to try to do EVA (hydro turf) foam in my Bass Tracker, what do you use on your angle grinder to clean the aluminum after you take the old carpet off?
Depends on scenario. Xylene and scraper if the glue is still thick. Old and dry, wire wheel on grinder. Sometimes a crimped wheel, sometimes a brushed.
@@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats Thanks for the help, the boat is a 2004 bass tracker pt185 somewhat similar to some of the older pt175s you have done I think the glue is pretty dried out now.
Anthony, I have a 1997 Bass Tracker TX 17 that I would like restored/renewed. How do I contact you to discuss? Tom
Who built the hatch lids?
