Josh have you seen such a humble, down to earth and honest actor as Kate Winslet? I was blown away by this woman. It's funny I've watched the film for years and never really followed up the actor behind the character of rose till now. And I never knew that Kate was the Shawman of the water tribe in Avatar

Yup. So far any encounters that I have read, including from friends who 15 years ago happened to bump into her by accident in a pub in London, have always been positive. You know, *never* consumed with egos, being a stuck-up and just really herself, kind and respectful and thoughtful. Like your average human being. As if she has never been knighted by the Queen, or received all the accolades that she has for her acting work.
God she’s just so REAL. So universally loved and appreciated because of that and she’s so true to who she is. What an absolutely incredible role model.
@Alison Williams Absolutely! I know Kate is just 47 ... but I am so glad that she has denounced and rejected unrealistic beauty standards in her 30-year long career thus far. That includes, rejecting any photoshop that were to remove her wrinkles in photoshoots for magazines and brands. It's a testament to her sense of awareness and reality of what the real world is like. Kate Winslet is *no* plastic and all professional and humane. Not to forget, even with her career ... and having to go all over the world, that she embraces family and motherhood too, instead of pushing it sideways, like many actresses her size and stature have.

Really, Kate winslet is the same age as me and better than a lot of the younger people now.
I love her! No 1 could have played Rose but Kate! 25 years on, it's still my favorite movie, of all time, largely because of Kate Winslet. That movie paid tribute to those poor people that lost their life that tragic night, and that movie made you feel that gut wrenching loss of each and every soul that went down with that ill-fated ship. I swear watching that movie made you feel like you were a witness to this Maritime tragedy, and you really felt like you were there and suffering and weeping with them. Kate gave the best performance, of all time, and I love you, madly for life! I don't think Kate ever won an award for her poignant portrayal of Rose, and she was robbed because that was one of the best performances of all time, in the best movie that will ever be. 🌟🥰💙🎁

Kate is so modest! Saying she was lucky and her young success was freak and random is so humble - she's an inspiration.
She wasn't fat in the Titanic. People are so stupid and abusive. She was perfect for the part in so many ways. But physically she was perfect for the period. She had that young girlish coming of age quality . Young women in that era were considered desirable even more robust and borderline chubby. Kate Winslet was lovely, graceful with a beautiful figure....
She looked exactly perfect, I was so envious of her body in that film. To quote a famous philosopher, her body was effing absurd!
Especially wealthy women at the time. Thin women were mostly thin out of poverty rather than choice.

Kate will always be my favorite actress. I had the pleasure to meet her at a reception at CAA a few years ago. She was gracious and real - and went out of her way to spend a few minutes chatting with an older gentleman who was unable to stand. Thank you for this outstanding conversation - I just love her honesty!

@@farhanaakter7454 Yup, because, she lives in London and not in some big Bel-Air mansion etc. You know, she is in touch with the public and normal human beings like you and me. That is why it is easy to meet her, approach her and talk to her for a brief moment.

@@Ismael_Consul She does not live in London City anymore. She used to, including back in 1998, following the success of Titanic and sharing how it was difficult for her dealing with all this sudden massive attention. For her relative obsecurity had now been largely gone. That aside, she lives now somewhere South of the city. In a place called West Wittering, West Sussex. But it's a gamble, concerning she could be away filming anywhere in the world as well.

There are some movies you see on the big screen and they make such a lasting impression on you, that no matter how many years go by, they're like old friends you never forget and reconnect with easily. Kate's work will be remembered for generations.
I was 18 when Titanic came out. I was in awe of Kate. After years of looking at my teen magazines and wanting a wafe body type, I was able to appreciate my own body. At the time I was 117 pounds 5'9 and needed to gain weight.
She really is incredible.

I frigging ADORE Kate Winslet.
She's so down to earth and has so much empathy and admiration for people... who deserve it.
Like how she explained her experiences with the other actor, trying to get the Jack Dawson role. She said it so well, if you don't go through the process with integrity... you will never get the projects you want.
That's why it seems 'Jeremy Sisto' (seen in bts clips) didn't get the part.
Arrogance and pettiness doesn't get you far, in ANY job or life goal.
Look at Kate and Leo now... still succeeding in career opportunities.
James Cameron has a GREAT sense of people, who are willing to put the work in.
In my opinion, Titanic could NOT have been any better as a film experience.
Literally it's one of my top favourite films of all time. Gets to my emotions so easily, everytime.
It will always be a blessing to film lovers.

I friggin totally agree with everything you said. I have loved her since “Sense and Sensibility” (which I was one of the few people in my high school English class that actually paid attention 😂 Titanic and Eternal Sunshine are on my top 5 best movies list, they are so good and emotional and pure ART. And the woman herself? A Goddess, a humble, beautiful, classy, kind and humorous badass chick. I adore her, always have, always will. ❤️🔥🤩🫶🏼 and of course 🚪…. 😂
Remarkable, I just love it when she said she'd take the red carpet dress of, eating chips and fart. She's adorable, smart and well-spoken. HAHA, even when she's cursing, there's grace in the way she speaks -- maybe cus of the accent. But ever since Titanic and watching her interviews through the year, she has become my favourite Brit. 😍🤩🤣🤣

What I realized about Kate and Leo is that every new movie they promote, Titanic will always be mentioned during their interviews. Leo though is too tired answering anything about Titanic. I remember back then he tried so hard to shy away from the good boy next door Jack Dawson image for quite a time until he made The Aviator.

They actually have done a scientific study to research whether or not both Rose and Jack could both have survived on the door. Science said what she said. They could NOT have both stayed afloat on the door.

Commenting on movies and actors and actresses is a quite subjective matter, and a thousand people are destined to have a thousand opinions. It's like since ancient times, many people have slandered Kate, saying she's fat or old, and so on,blah,blah,blah; At the same time, there are also many people (including me) who focus on her roles and works and love such an actress. Before watching this video, I was just excited about her wonderful performances, grateful that I could appreciate her works and performances in the current shoddy film and television industry; But after watching it, I just want to say, I love her even more.🙂

I randomly stumbled across this interview and for once I'm so thankful of the algorithm. This interview was amazing. Kate Winslet is such an inspiring woman and a great actress but can we also give props to Josh for his interview style/questioning. You could tell he'd done his research on Kate and he had an ease about him which I loved. Never seen this channel before but will definitely keep an eye out for future content.

Kate is so awesome. James Cameron actually did a documentary about the titanic door, and it was almost impossible for Jack to survive. With both on the door they were both submerged a little in water. Rose's coat actually kept her body core pretty warm (in comparison) in the test. Jack would have needed her life jacket for warmth, and they would have needed to be in exact positions on the door, and he still might not have made it. Plus, it put Rose at risk as well. Jack's stunt double's body temp kept dropping too low to survive in the doc without everything being absolutely perfect, and I doubt either would have thought for Rose to give him her life jacket. All that being said, his body temp was still dropping incredibly fast. It probably would have ended up killing them both. Kate is right lol
