  • All that glitters is GOLD! And our Goldie Lox chironomid pupa fly is 24K! The "goldie" is a unique chironomid that makes appearances on our local waters yearly. And when it does, the bows take notice and you better have a fly pattern to rep it or you'll be out of luck! This is our go to Goldie Chironomid Pupae fly pattern!

    Good day Sir!
I have been really enjoying your videos and appreciate your skills in fly tying! I would love to get my hands on some of that gold flashabou with black speckles, but can’t seem to find it anywhere! Apparently, #6933 has been discontinued. Would you know anywhere I could obtain at least 2 packs? Thank you in advance and have a great day! Tight lines, sir!

    Hey great chironomid once again!!
I predominantly just use your patterns the last few years...as they work!!
I was wondering though, if you do a good coat of crazy glue, like I see you do...is a second coat needed, or is one enough?
    Thanks...

Don’t remember John. Anything gold with black flakes or speckles or black with gold would work.

Thanks for posting. I’m thinking Flashabou #6986 might work too?
