XBOX 360 E: Red Dot of Death (Temporary Fix) [READ DESCRIPTION]

- I got the notorious red ring of death a few days ago and I found a TEMPORARY fix by experimenting. 1. Press and hold the power button.
2. The outer ring should start flashing and the Xbox should boot up right after.
3. You may have to repeat this several times to get it to work.
4. If it never works, then your Xbox is truly dead until you get it fixed by a technician.
Note: This applies only to the Xbox 360 E, which is the newest and last version of the 360. This is a temporary fix that only works long enough for you to get your game save data transferred to hard drive. This most likely will not work on other Xbox 360 models. - Věda a technologie
The console was so good even the red ring of death didn’t make people buy something else instead
Probably not the smartest idea to have your console laying the the ground.
It used to be on a little table/stand in the living room, connected to a monstrous 65 inch Samsung smart TV.
@@FSM_Reviews wow
That's why
(1) it's on the ground
(2) your hard drive might not he plugged in all the way
I had no hard drive plugged in. Nor was it sitting on the ground before it got the Red Ring of Death. It used to be on my TV table before.
no its just not
Having it on the carpet may have built up static electricity and could have damaged some components
This Xbox used to be on a little table/stand in the living room. I just had it in my entertainment room for this video.
@@FSM_Reviews hey guy, what exactly did you do? Mine is having a red light issue
@@p0isinsweats320 I don't even know...it was at least 2 years ago, this video. I think I just kept holding in the power button until it started up, doing several tries.
@@FSM_Reviews ah ok, I just made a video asking for answers
yes
It’s funny that your 360 E got the red ring of death but yet my 2005 OG 360 never did to this day
Edit: put it on a dam table. I can see that you have enough space for it
The Xbox used to be on a small table/TV stand in the living room before I got the RROD.
lol same here but when mine did it it was just the hdd that was not plugged all the way in
EX Anxiety same, but it’s 2020
@@FSM_Reviews you just put it into another room for the video
@@hugstep997 me watching from 2022
It worked!thank you
Could you please clarify what you mean by 'temporary fix'. Do you think that after some time the Xbox 360 will again experience RROD ?
Yes. At first, it will last the entire day. And it will deteriorate in reliability over the course of just a few days. If in this condition, find a way to keep it on 24/7.
Eventually, I couldn't even get anything to appear on the screen.
How do you Xbox button flash because I couldn't get it to when I held down the power button
Damn this actually worked, thank you so much!
Is it still working and if it is how many times did you have to try to get it to work
I am gonna be VERY honest.... IT WORKED!!!! :)))
Fantastic! I suggest you back up all your game saves to an external hard drive.
how
@@andrewx_x7722 well funny story I eventually got it again and this fix didn’t work anymore :(
Is it still working if so how many times did you try this methood
@@8BALLZS well it’s a long story but it only worked ONCE for me, and as soon as I got it again, I just sold it for parts with my older brother getting me another 360 that still works today for me as I started playing 360 games that do not work on Xbox one and/or series X. I got a 360 E model back in October 2020 but got another one in December 2021 and still works today. My second 360 was the first white model HDMI edition.
Why is there a green ring around the red dot? It happened on mine and I don’t understand.
Edit: As soon as I turn on my TV, that’s when it happens
I have the same problem except mine has a red ring and dot
I get that too once I put in the hdmi cable into it than I get a red ring
@Dylan Milne mine started doing that too
Yo i wanna ask yall how much reccomended time for xbxo 360 e daily?
You had corrupted system settings. Pressing and holding the power button resets them.
I'm not sure....I think it was most likely due to physical trauma more than anything...
@@FSM_Reviews it also could have been a corrupted gpu/cpu
@@MoneyBrozYT You sure? It was fine for a year after purchasing....I _do_ remember banging on the Xbox to quiet the vibration noise, though. Could that have been enough to knock something loose?
@@FSM_Reviews it's possible you could have knock something loose.
If i already have a hdd in the Xbox and my games are saved on it, i can transfer my saves on another Xbox If i have Red ring of death?
Yes, you can!
@@FSM_Reviews thanks, what can cause a red ring of death? Mine was manufactured in 2011 and i bought it in 2017, i played a few times on it, how can i get Red ring of death?
I've had the 360 e for 6 years and played it continually even till today and not a single red ring,
Same
Same
Same
Same they just over use it
@Arion weste I haven’t used mine for two years and just got it
How did you fix it answer please dude
I just pressed and held in the power button, and kept on trying that until the Xbox powered on. It's just a temporary fix that I used to get my game save data off of it.
THX SO MUCH IT WORKED FOR ME I THOUGHT IT IS NOT GONNA WORK FOREVER IM NOT A BOT I DID NOT GET HIRED YOUR AMAZING IM GONNA SUB YOU AND LIKE YOUR VID
I'm glad this helped you.
I have the red light but it blinks of and on
Didn't work idk if it's because it's blinking or something
In this video isn't the vent for the Xbox facing the floor if it is turn the Xbox around and that might stop it
I only had the Xbox in there for troubleshooting. Before I made the video, it was sitting on the living room TV stand/cabinet, off the floor with plenty of room to breathe.
I have the Xbox 360 e for 9 years straight and it got a rrod because of ventilation error but that’s it
Ik everyone is saying this but having it on carpet can make it unable to breath. You should put it on a hard back book or a chair or sum. At least I think 😅
......I've had that console in the living room for its entire life...I only moved it into the small room for troubleshooting.....which ultimately ended up unsuccessful because it completely died just a few days later.
@@FSM_Reviews oh no :(
Thank u that helped me a lot
Glad it helped!
what have you done? just press and hold power button
Yes, I don't know why trying that for a couple of times worked.
What if the ring ill red around it
This happened to me after my sister's cat peed on my xbox.
dude wtf
Lol my cat peed on my xbox too
Lmao a monke peed on mine I'm not shitting you
Bruh lmao 🤣💀
What if the red light stays on what to do
After doing all that, and the light is still red, then it is truly broken at that point.
it doesnt even flashon mine
look at the description thats where it tells u!
Thank you for being a functional person!
I got red ring just for 1 sec lol i freaked out so much luckily it did not happen anynow
Is it still working properly?
No. It's probably already a pile of metal in the dumpster.
Oof
doesnt work
johnny sonsai yeah
Yeah, it stopped working for me as well after a while.
Yes it does idiot
How long does it last if its a temporary fix?
I have long forgotten, but maybe about a couple hours at best.
IT CAN GET ON THIS TYPE OF XBOX TOO? bruh why
Imma be honest. I was kind of moron back in 2016.
So I liked to play Forza Horizon, and I only had the disc version of the game. As you probably know, the disc gets noisy when it spins up. But my stupid a** thought it was the fan being noisy. Guess what I did? I hammered the damn thing with my fist right where the fan was. The CPU and GPU happened to be right under there as well. Eventually something in there, probably some solder joints, fractured to the point where I got the red dot/ring of death.
0/10 would not recommend punching your Xbox.
How did u do that
I just pressed and held in the power button until it started up.
Never got a red ring in my great Xbox 360 silm
OK. You were one of the lucky people.
Lmao just upgrade to an xb1 ffs who even has an xbox 360 in 2k19?
Maybe some people like the xbox 360 better than the 1.
Yeah. I had mine mainly for the Kinect Sports game, but I did play Forza Horizon from time to time.
Fans, Speakers, and more Lol, I still have an xbox 360. I think I might buy an xbox s all digital soon, but I’m sticking to playing fh1 on the 360 for now. P.s., did u get fh1 for free? If u did, so did I lol. We should play together sometime
you did not tell ushow
Look in the description.
Red ring? I dont see any ring?
More like red dot of death, but the meaning is the same.
Mine is fine until you plug in av or hdmi cables, either. If you try to connect it to a tv, the xbox says no & I have the red dot...
Any ideas?
I'm not an expert, I've just got a few consoles to work by stripping them down & giving them a good clean.
Didn't work with this one, but I've definitely found the source of the problem.
I just don't have the know-how to fix it, if involves anymore than cleaning 🤷♂️😂
I'm not sure. It's been a long time since I had this Xbox. Sounds like an issue with the graphics chip.
@@FSM_Reviews cheers! I might just have to take it for repairs, seems a bit beyond my expertise. Thought if I can at least get some idea, so I'm not being charged for repairs I don't need.
Much appreciated!
@@FSM_Reviews shit sorry 🤦♂️ I didn't take notice of how old this vid is 😂
Thanks for trying to help me out though!
How did you do it my xbox360e has it
hold down power button, if it does not work, try getting it checked or fixed
Press and hold power button. Repeat 2-3 times. If it never works, then there is a more serious issue with the hardware.
Mine is still alive but it get hot easily
what was the point of making these if they fail lol
Not much. Except with this short little fix, you can copy off your save data to an external hard drive and transfer to...I don't know...an Xbox 1?
I just banged mine and it worked
But it not working
Doesn't usually work........only for about a few weeks will this work.
Where is the "fix"? You just turned it on a few times
It's pressing in and holding the power button until the ring on the outside flashes a few times.
I miss my xbox
Same. I wish to buy one again some day.
Does not work
It didn't help with me
this is the xbox 360 i have
ill try it
First of all it impossible for your xbox 360 E and S to get Red ring of death what it mean is it too hot let it cool down or your power supply over heating
It can happen in select cases, for example I haven’t used mine for 2 uterus now, placed it in a well vented area and still got it
Как?
this is a prank
do you have the error e 72 can you do a nother video to se to me wath we do
This IS NOT a prank. It actually worked for a few days.
its not a prank i got the same thing on my xbox 360 E console yesterday and im trying to fix it and the error thing dosent show up so its no prank.
Blaster Gun oof I somehow fixed mines I moved it to a open area on top my wardrobe and it works fine now
@@justkevon6124 i just bought one and it did it, useless hunks of junk IMO
the sa e thing happened to my xbox E
Grid Autosport in among us
change the thermal paste
Too late. It's in the trash heap already.
@@FSM_Reviews It surely was that, overheating.
@@manuelgrana5401 Not overheating. Something physically broke in there. I think the solder points of the graphics processor must've broke or something, because I once accidentally dropped it.
My usually will not work so yeah
Sorry.
Bro I have the same Xbox the Xbox S
Thats the xbox 360 e not xbox 360 s
Steven Cross ik sorry
Easy fix: throw it in the trash
It didn’t work for me 🤡
Well I didn't say it was gonna work for everyone. It's a temporary fix that only works sometimes.

في احد يفهمني ؟؟ 😂😂

Me to man
This is fake
It isnt.
@@EmpressKdms i literally tried it on mine and nothing worked lier
Well I said in the description that this might not always work. I was just experimenting with mine and this happened to work for me.
Doesn't work
Hardware damage too severe.
