Those Schwarzkopf Looping Star models make such a memorable ‘chugchugchugchug’ sound as they go through the loop. That sound instantly takes me back to being a kid in the 80’s! This footage is also after the ‘Apollo 13’ ride was converted into ‘Heatwave’. I was lucky to ride it before the conversion! Thanks for another brilliant video full of memories!
Awwww would have been when i was in there so often lol as a teen. We used to jump over a little wall at the back where the underground car park is lol Of course I paid to get in often as well with my cousins and things especially when younger, but with school friend or two we would sometimes get in that way for free cheekily and have a great time. Enterprise, Mary rose, tri star, big wheel, looping star. Jesus watching this takes me on a massive trip down memory lane lol not just Bemboms but other things as well. God I miss those days so much
Loving this guys 1993 Videos, as gives us a great look at how all the theme parks were the year before Nemesis, Pepsi Max Big One and Shockwave were opened.
The looping star was a beast when i was a kid. It made a real growl as it did the loop. The Enterprise always made me want to chunder. Who remebers the sphinx, cinema 2000? Bumper cars where the whole idea was to give people crash injuries and the scenic railway where your safety was determined by a brakeman. Happy memories and birthday parties there. It felt special back then and i will always look back on these times with a smile.
Love this ❤ This was my local park growing up, the Looping Star was my first ever roller coaster. Even though the park is not like what it was back in its heyday, I still make time to visit annually for a ride on the Scenic Railway 🙂
Brings back many memories. The last time I went there was 1995. It had all the decent rides there then : Looping Star, Scenic Railway, Big Wheel - and there was a small go kart track. Great fun.
Great video. This really takes me back. 👍 I spent many, many fun filled days here right through the 80's. I really did love Dreamland back then. It is such a shame that they couldn't have got hold of (or afforded) a Looping Star when they re-opened. A fresh paint job, rockwork, fountains, glittering signage, and really made a big thing out of its return. This was such a well loved ride. The Mary Rose too, another major attraction, I would have loved to have seen that come back. I am glad it is open again, and I love the landscaping, but it used to be somewhere you'd go for thrill rides. Ok they may be a bit dated now by comparison, but they are still great rides. It's a pity there were not more funds in the pot to begin with. I feel it was a real missed opportunity sadly.
