- This is so very special to me. After 6 years of riding solo, we had a big breakthrough and I finally get to share this joy with my Son. I am over the moon!

What a really nice thought, for some a simple scooter ride might not be seen as special I'm sure it ment alot for him. Super mum Joanna!
You never fully realise how important and precious the time you have them is.
He has the coolest mummy.
Well done to you both.
Have to say I have ridden bikes for over 30 years seen many things people have done for there special needs children what you are doing for your son is simply amazing he must love and trust you so much a brave step to see how he would be on the bike, so much respect for your riding skills as well truly inspiring.👀👍
I always take my 7 year old with downs on the back of my suzuki bking! He loves it , rides with me every day to school and weekends we go further afield. Love this vid !
What a beautiful evening for a ride. You must be so happy when Alex asks to go for a bike ride. That was lovely to see.
Good to hear from you again and glad you and son doing well 👍
Super video & So glad your Son loves electric bikes..Well done to just the coolest mum..✌🏻
Joanna! As the father of a 22 year old with Tourette’s, ADD and a splash of bipolar, Thank you for putting this video out! We are only given what we can handle and you seam to be doing great. Kids are awesome even when they have issues that have names!
Jo said it before and I'll say it again now. Your such a good mum. It's great to see you share at least a small amount of your passion for things with two wheels with your son. Well done you. Hope to see more of your adventures with him.😁😁😁
I have a close family member with fragile x syndrome, I used to do similar rides with him on the back of my aprilia rs125 when I was 18 (which was along time ago), we are both alot older now and he still remembers them short trips out like it was yesterday.
I love this Jo, I too have an Autistic son, though not as far on the spectrum as your Alex.
This was a great video to watch for me on a personal level.
Thanks JoJo
Simply super Mum!👍 You must be very proud of him!
Brilliant. A biker at heart. Welcome to the club Alex.
Every time my son comes he wants to go for a ride on my bike. I see it as another avenue for us to spend time together doing something we both love. Nice to see you back with such a good video.
this clip calm me down :) you have such a peaceful voice , I will still follow your channel. greetings from Sweden
Love this, spent 14 years working with people with learning disabilities specialising in teenage boys with challenging behaviour and always wanted to take some of them on my bikes. One lad in particular will always be my favourite loved the loud noise(when he knew it was coming) but would never have been aloud to.
This is excellent! Love it. Spent the last 10 years working in autism and fully understand how very special this is and all the 'little extra' things you have to think about to make it happen! Well done you!
Nice to see you back and to meet your son. What a great memory to make with one another and I hope he had fun!
not only your look is beautyfull, your soul as well
It’s so good that you can do this with your son and that he actually asked or the ride, I’ve got friends adopted two autistic brothers a few years ago so I understand a little how hard it can be but also rewarding it can be. One of my friends posted on FB the other day a video of him and his 11 year old step daughter out on his triumph she actually asked him if he would take her for a ride he was so chuffed and made his day so keep it up 😁😁
Love that Jo, what a great experience to share.
I saw the title, I clicked, and your story has made my day. Good on you!
Well Jo ... How bloody AMAZING is that!!!!! Absolutely Fantastic, what a wonderful achievement!
Good for you 👏🏁🏁🏁
If I could click a millions thumbs up for this video I would. I thoroughly enjoyed this insight into your life and earnestly appreciate your sharing it with us. I remember seeing your other video a while back where you introduce Alex to us and that was great. This one is just as good if not better. You are truly an amazing person JFB.
In your other video you had recently lost your sitter for Alex. Did you ever find another person or is your Mom staying with you now?
Again, a very special and heart warming video. Take care.
Joanna, you are such a heroine taking your son for a ride, I was just saying to my wife I have not seen any of your vids lately, (perhaps you went back to your homeland in the light of the present bad feeling in UK, We are so glad to be in France where we are welcome) And a big high five to Chris BVG for the helmet gift. My wife knows how tough it can be caring for an autistic person, she is a carer for old and infirm, one an autistic of 50 years he hardly speaks & blind in one eye, yet with care he enjoy's life too.
Great stuff Joanna, very happy that you are able to share the world on two wheels with Alex.😀👍🏍
Very cool, I appreciate how awesome you are. Best motorcycle mom ever !
That was a brilliant video Jo, so nice to be able to share the experience with you both 😊
True inspiration jo. Some of the best rides I've had have included my daughter on back. Your lucky to have each other .
This is soo heartwarming! It must bring you great joy to have an unspoken connection with your son on a motorcycle! :D All the best, ride safe both of you
This is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME Jo!
Good on you, AND Alex, for sharing your passion.
The first of many I hope.
Welcome to the club Alex... *Rock On Brutha* 😉
I've already decided to get a NIU scooter, so I've been watching almost all the video reviews. This has by far been my favorite video review. My younger brother is autistic, but it never occurred to me that a quiet, electric scooter could be a source for pure happiness between family members and loved ones. Thank you for sharing this.
So good to see you both again, this time enjoying an evening ride together, so much warmer than trying to build a snowman 🥶 We all hope to see you both again soon. 👍👌
What a great thing to see. Here in Australia I'm involved with a number of other bikers in an annual picnic day with the local Autism Society where we take kids on bike rides. Some of them don't like too much noise but they experience the vibration of big bikes as soothing - most of us are on big rumbly v-twins. The kids line up to go for a ride on the bikes that they like most, along with rides in a police car and fire truck, both with sirens and lights if the kids want that. I hope Alex continues to love being out with you.
Jo, this video was beautiful!!
You're a truly amazing mum and it must give you such a wonderful feeling being able to include Alex in your love for all things 2 wheels 🤗
Super to see that the both of you have so much fun riding together 😃
What a beautiful moment.
Really enjoyed this jojo great to hear from you x please don't leave it so long xxx
what a lovely video, sharing your passion!
This is fantastic. Great to see you both having fun...
What a heart warming video, smiled all the way through!
so happy this must make you both! this was such a fun video! congrats jojo!!...and alex!
Well done joanna this vlog is so heartwarming your son does you proud and l love the joy it bort to him well done
My my little Red Riding Hood, what big eyelashes you have. That's awesome you found something he likes so much! You can hear his excitement when he was asking for a ride using his iPad. And to share that joy, that pleasure with others is a very compassionate thought. Can't help but wonder if the success of something like a scooter ride might be able to help a special needs child branch out into exploring and trying other things that might also bring them passion, pleasure, and joy. Keep up the great work!
The joy in your voice... lovely. Happy riding to you both
Beautiful to watch you and Alex enjoying the ride together
Oh this made me chuckle, alexes request and reactions to going for a bike ride. My son was a fanatic from a very early age, as soon as his legs could reach the pillion rests. Now he is 25 and rides his own motorcycle. Alex sounds like a real gem and you a brilliant mum. Well done you guys and thank you for making my day. Ride safe and enjoy.👍👍👍👍👍💖
That was amazing, so happy for you. I hope some people take you up on your offer :)
Well this made my day. Thank you for sharing the special moment. 🙂
That’s brilliant that you can both enjoy a nice ride and your son is experiencing this and enjoying himself. Just those special moments are priceless. You’re an top mum Xx
Nice one jo . Great to see Alex enjoying it..... 👍
Hi I have just watched a couple of you review videos and stumbled on a video with you and your son when it snowed, then I stared watching this one. All I can say is as a person you are amazing with Alex and how you have introduced him to your world of motorcycles. You go girl
Pure Gold!
This is one of the best videos I have ever seen. Good job mom.
That's awesome! So cool that you can both enjoy riding together. 😊 👊😎
That is a great idea and looks like a fun ride. Glad you and your son could enjoy a wonderful ride together.
This is the epitome of great parenting. I hope you both have many more fantastic adventures together. 💪🏼
I’m so happy u can finally share your joy with your boy 😊 Jojo!
Hi Sarah are you ok
What a lovely & inspirational video. Well done to you. 👍
Joanna,
Watching this brought tears of joy to my eyes. You're a wonderful mum.
I'm sitting in the lounge of a hospital charity whilst I await news of my son, Ruairidh whom I handed to the surgeons this morning for his sixth cardiac procedure. It was the hardest thing I've done, to decide to try once more to resolve his life-limiting condition. Ruairidh is 14 and also has special needs. I've dreamt of taking him on my bike, but it is too big. I wondered about a sidecar, but it's not the same. Your scooter rides with Alex are an inspiration. Long may you continue to enjoy them!
Thank you for sharing your experiences. Best wishes to you both.
Rob
Best of luck to the both of you my friend J
What a beautiful occasion! Thanks for sharing it with us!
He's his mothers son ;)
Beautiful video. Best wishes to you both. 👍👍
Every time I’m out on my scooter it brings me a lot of happiness. I don’t overly like the phrase special needs, I prefer unique just sounds more positive. It’s good that you both get the same enjoyment out of the same hobby.
So happy to see you can enjoy bikes wit your son.
Seeing your shadows cast by the late evening sun (I guess) sums everything up for me. Truly inspiring.
That's amazing, great that he can share the bike riding experience with you.
Great video guys ♥️ JoJo and Alex♥️
Well done JoJo and Alex, hopefully he will enjoy getting out on the bike and the start of new adventures. Best wishes to for the future....
p.s. still got my Metzler March 2017 calendar page hanging at the bottom of the stairs :)
Im so happy for you both !
Lovely Video. Looks like your boy is enjoying the ride. Great Mum x
This is absolutely Wonderful
That’s great that you can share something you love with your son.
Awesome for you two to share time together riding.
Quality parenting right there 😊👍
Always hated electric vehicles but here you've proven its the perfect vehicle for the task. I was smiling all through this thinking Alex must be feeling completely free and enjoying quality time with mum.
Great parenting Jo truly great.
Wow!!!, just watched your video and what a super mum you are and you are both blessed to have each other. I have an Auutistic son also, but he is blind with Septo Optic Dysplasia and Scizencephaly, he is verbal, especially when he wants something to eat, even going for a drive in the car is hard work when a car goe's past with a loud exhaust, it's meltdown time, I'd love to get my son on the back of my bike, but being blind and not much sense of balance, the danger would be too much. Well done for what you're doing with your son, it's nice to see you adventure together!!, All the best with all you two get up to. Much respect.
Beautiful video
What a wholesome video, and what a perfect area to ride in! Enjoy what's left of the summer! Your son may need some waterproofs! He's amazing
You're an awesome mum! Also I like the dash on that scooter, looks very nice!
Bless him, hope he enjoyed the experience
Brilliant idea.
Oh wow this is wonderful! :) x
What a great vid !
I can see you getting one. I did a 50 mile ride in the Peak District on one and was impressed.
Brilliant, thanks to your reviews on the NIU GT-N, I just bought one. Still need to get used to the quietness.
Well done!!
Hi Johana I also have a child on the spectrum. She is 12 and I just purchased a motorcycle with the main goal of eventually taking her on rides, just like you. She loves the feel of the week and she loves driving. I am looking forward to riding with her.
Nice job joanna glad he enjoyed it :)
God bless you... you are a great mom...
Sweet video.
YAAAAAAAY 😎😎😎 that's it!! He is now officially part of the biker family 🏍🏍🏍. Well chuffed for you and the lad 😁
Love this just like all the other viewers. My daughter is nonverbal autistic and loves the wind in her face.
Nice video Jo, I instructed several years ago and I remember instructing a young lad with autism,, it started ok but gradually he started getting confused with the clutch and front brake,, i.e. when trying to change gear he would pull the front brake instead of the clutch, we had to stop for his safety.. I felt so sad for him cus you could see how upset he was.. take care of yourselves..
Best mum ever, welcome Alex to the best club ever
Good for you and your son 👍
Good for you both... We'll done xx
That’s pretty darn inspirational.
This is brilliant Joanna :)
love your videos ❤️
Fabulous JoJo... 👍🏼👍🏼
