    The material is Durham's Water Putty. It is naturally yellow in color, but is rock hard when dry and doesn't shrink.

    Water putty has a longer working time than plaster, dries harder and does not shrink.

    Water Putty is much tougher than Plaster of Paris. It is more resistant to chips.

    Hi Bernie, I'm trying to find the best way to make rocks for my layout using rubber molds. At this moment I'm using rubber molds and hydrocal from WoodlandScenics, but I have no idea about what you call "putty water". Would you be so kind telling me what product is that and if the yellow color is something you added or its natural tone ?. Thanks in advance, and cheers from Chile.

    im carving a foam mountain with a tunnel that will be moved from time to time. Do you think "water putty" would work good on it?

    • @BernardK
      @BernardK  Před 7 lety

      Yes, it should work. Rough up the surface a bit to get more surface area for the putty to stick.

      Yeah, me too! A my years in Model Railroading, and I've never heard of water pooty!! :O
      I do like the extra working time. Beats having to work in double time to try to get your work in, before it hardens...
