Engine Restore & LUCAS can they save a SUBARU OUTBACK 3.6r?

- 2012 Subaru Outback 3.6r with 165K miles is misfiring in three cylinders. I am going to try Engine Restore Lubricant and LUCAS fuel treatment to see if these products can restore low compression in the boxer engine.

Perhaps im mistaken but you stated the mech said you had a bad coil. if you have a bad coil, engine restore cant fix that you must replace the coil. otherwise misfire still gone happen.
Yeah engine Compression has nothing to do with the coil or the firing Sync
That's good to know, thank you
This was great Franco! You have saved people a lot of money and heartache!
I used restore in my porsche and I use Lucas oil in my fuel. My engine is a boxer engine like your Subaru and is very happy...
Johnny if you haven't yet, see if the dealer can change the fuel filter. I think some dealers say it's non-serviceable which doesn't make sense. It's probably in need of a change at that mileage. Also couldn't hurt to clean the MAF with some MAF cleaner if you don't do that already. Nice to see that it's still running.
Gotta love working on older vehicles, I tend to help out my buddies with theirs more than I work on my own haha, nice video bud 👍
Thank you
I have 2.5 2014 and it's a great outback.
I don’t know about Car specially there engines but it’s nice to know that there is way to fix the the engine specially now that the winter is coming. The view in the road look nice.
I used Lucas in my tank, and Restore in my engine. All the rust dissapeared off my car, I gained 10 MPG and 125 HP.
This shit works!
Damn I’m buying some rn thanks man
Nice video hopefully that Lucas works well
The car needs a new engine. Thanks bro 👍😎🎩
Thank you for sharing my friend 👍👍great video👍‼️
Great video my friend. Have a fantastic day!
Thank you friend 👍😎🎩
Great video John! Too bad the engine isn't salvageable, but looking forward to watching updates on the rebuild!

Ohh this is what my hubby steve talking about me your vid
I am surprised you don't have more view on this. Most anybody always has an opinion on the products you used. I like the Lucas myself. I think your cats are plugged.
The ignition coils were changed and the shaking stopped. The check engine light is still on.
Hey John, Great video man a rebuild might be cheaper check into it . Sometimes there are local places that can rebuild one cheaper than getting a used one. 👍😀
Thanks Chas, will look into it. 👍
Cool info
great video, great tums up my new friend
thick accent hehe ,dashboard lit up like a Xmas tree, good luck
Good video,information&location! Like24

CHANGE THE COILS , SPARK PLUGS+ AIR FILTER
Thank you, thats what was needed to fix the issue.
I haven't used lucas in years as I have only been driving old vans that I don't care much about LOL.
Thats the best way...
Lmao maybe u have to gap your plugs
I wonder if magic mystery oil would dissolve away the Engine Restore if used after the Engine Restore treatment?
The problem was the ignition coils. After replacing them the car runs like new.
Mullah Osk I wouldn't think so in that way.
The restore is a lot of fine particles that fill spaces as it flows but it doesn't build up in spaces like a wax.
If Restore is flowing around it should be doing what it does. But it seems likely a thinner oil solution would counter what it's trying to do by letting thinner oil slip by spaces.
Afraid oil and gas additives aren’t going fix low compression. But it’s sad that you’re having this kind of problem at 165k. Those 3.6Rs are supposed to be bulletproof. My 2011 is at 101k. Fingers crossed I can go a bit further than that. Good luck with your swap.
I purchased the car with 97k miles and it ran well. I was expecting at least 250k or better.
That's a shame. Same here... My previous Outback 2.5 had 279k and was running strong with I sold it. It had been through a set of head gaskets and two timing belts, but other than that it ran great.
That's a pretty good run for the 2.5.
Restore was never meant for modern engines. It plugs up all the small oil passages and causes the engine to blow up. You used the wrong fix for the wrong engine. Those boxer engines are notorious for head gasket failure. Swapping the engine with a used engine is a worse decision yet. Its a big gamble.
You took it to the dealer, was your mistake, all they did is beat the snot out of it joy riddling until it had low compression. The coil was probably your only issue..
You are right they recommended a rebuilt or junk yard engine. It turned out to be the coils and it purrs now. 👍
You stated your problems began after you changed plugs. I'm willing to bet you changed brands, and that is where the problems lay. In about 1961, I changed the plugs in my Mother's Studebaker and went from the Champion H14Y to a crossover made by AC. The car ran like shit. I took it to our mechanic. The first thing he noticed was I had swapped brands and asked why. I said the ACs were on sale. He told me to dump them and go back to the H14y's which I did. The the Studey again ran like a champ.
Update: In 1993, the last bunch of Champions I bought for my Studey were terrible. I noticed on the box Champion had been bought-out by Cooper industries. I don't know what they hell they did but dumped them and went to the Autolight counterpart and that solved my problem. I ave been with Autolight ever since. That was about 28-years-ago.
P.S.Dump the Suburu and get a find yourself a good Studebaker. They live forever!
Studebaker are awesome cars friend.
@@JohnAvantiBK make it a Golden Hawk!
Sorry you have to replace the Engine my friend.
Yea bro thank you Mr brother... 👍
im wondering who is filming of you
My daughter ☺
you should put out an updated vid to explain that the engine coil fixed your issue. it wasnt the product that was bad it was your lack of knowledge as relates to cars that was in error.
I intend too. Thank you
@@JohnAvantiBK im having the same problem a year after putting a new spark plugs.
Did you ever figure out the exact issue? Did you have any wear on your spark plugs?
@@smbrapport The coils we're bad I replaced them all.
Cool😎
Thanks Bro :)
YW man😊
Premium isnt a good idea. They put just as much ethanol in it as your usual 87 octane which comes out to mostly 10%. Now if you're putting in recreational fuel at 89 octane that'll have no ethanol.
That's good to know thank you
You said a Subaru technician said it had a bad coil so why would you waste all that product 🤦. That engine rarely gives problems.
I wanted to see if it was something else. I will be making a 200k mile review and cover the issues the 3.6r had.
Restore is a last resort measure. You only put that if you're sure the engine has low compression indeed.
Sorry the restore didn't work for you. In my 92 F150 it worked great, but in my 05 Nissan Quest van, it did not. I think, like you said, it depends on how bad the engine is.
The car had ignition coil problems. Tge car is running strong but check engine light is still on.
@@JohnAvantiBK did you ever put the other engine in
It turns out the coils were bad and once i replaced all the coils and plugs the car is running strong as ever. It did not need a new engine. The senior mechanic at Subaru said in the 20 years hes been working on Subarus he has seen 2 3.6r engines go bad. 👍
@@JohnAvantiBK good to hear, if an engine isn't burning oil typically that means it's not worn out, a good way to test it is to take oil cap off when the engine is running, if it has lots of air blowing out then you have worn rings or scored cylinder walls, for future reference if you are buying a used vehicle always do that, it can save you thoushands, an engine can be worn and run seemingly well. I learned this the hard way
Dont put premium in your car. It was not designed to run with a high compression fuel.
engine was salvageable. Probably needed new valves & seals. Timing chain on those cars is also shit.
It turned out it need 6 new coils and the problem stopped. It's running good now. 🌟
I got you sir.in here new friend..i hope you can visit to my house also.
Engine restore can't fix a bad coil
You can’t fix misfires like that with additives lol
Very true LOL
wd 40 can
Look at the ufo above his head at the 7.04sec mark
Lol, this guy thinking a boxer motor in a Subaru is gonna last a long time. They usually last somewhere around 100,000 miles give or take before they need a rebuild. I do them all the time.
After replacing all the ignition coils at 170k miles it's running good as new.
The H6's are pretty stout. I know of one at 237k miles.
First of all, you need an ignition coil😁 pretty far from the motor being shot… dumb as a box of rocks
Thanks for watching my friend...
Leaves trash under hood
Wow did I leave trash under the hood?
Not a good promo dude.
Thanks for watching my friend 😊
I wouldn’t be making opinions about products when you clearly know nothing about cars. When you say you started having issues after changing your plugs that should be a tell. Your issue is probably using cheap plugs and wires/coils. 165k on a well cared for Subaru is nothing.
Thanks for watching my friend.
What a bunch of stupid noise!
It turned out to be the spark plug coils were rusted.
