    Old dude did that on purpose--he knew what those two jerks did to him and why they so badly wanted him back. He played them after they'd played him! Love these twists.

      Yes indeed.
      1. From the beginning, the husband's partner expressed concerned that "one more outing with Her" and Her husband would find them out (He probably already had).
      2. His wife confirmed to us that he had a great memory and then
      3. The Dr. confirmed the husbands suspicions after he overheard the partners strange laughter in response to His friends predicament- over the phone.

    What happened with the way people talk? There is such a difference between how people talked then and now. Does anybody know where i can find some info on that?

    • @bookerjones8123
      @bookerjones8123 Před 2 lety +7

      If you mean the way they speak (as opposed to the written dialogue) it might have to do with the fact that actors back then (including the three leads here) usually had formal stage training and experience, where you have to learn to speak with very precise, almost artificial diction.

    • @user-uf4dh9gn7r
      @user-uf4dh9gn7r Před 2 lety +1

      @@bookerjones8123 Thank you! Makes perfect sense. I was wondering if there were different shifts culturally, historically that affected the speech overall, what made it less formal overtime. I did not even think about that part- theatrical training. Of course it has to be a bit exaggerated for the sake of needing to be heard by everybody in the audience.

    • @feralkat9370
      @feralkat9370 Před rokem

      Well Hollywood was obsessed with the British upper class accent so most actresses and actors had to be able to speak that way esp in uppity roles.
      Studios cared only about looks, not talent. Talent was 'created' by studios with onsite training to speak, sing, dance etc. esp after Talkies came out. That's why many actresses appeared to have cookie cutter style.

    • @tommoncrieff1154
      @tommoncrieff1154 Před 24 dny +1

      What happened was the 1960s started a social revolution. Children used to take elocution and diction lessons, there were competitions to recite poetry, and actors certainly did. Being well-spoken was important for work as was being smartly dressed and presenting neatly. Schools also taught spelling and grammar and you could fail non-related subjects if you made spelling mistakes. Good spellers and those who know grammar and Latin speak more precisely. Nowadays kids leaving school gabble, write in text and words are used incorrectly.
