Tommy knew what Father Hughes was like right from the first meeting remember in the scrap yard when he could hardly disguise his disgust at Father Hughes saying that this would be part of the broader arrangement, with men from the ecenomic league dropping by after hours to the orphanage..........

I really think this character is one of the best roles for Tom Hardy. It is so dynamic and I don't see any other actor being able to pull this role off.
