Cuz it hit like that the same way hit in real life that's why I got emotional like that I shared a gangster 22 it's not about being a p**** it's about knowing
I watched this alot . What Iâm getting from this is that Leon knows itâs only a matter of time before Franklin dies and he will never see his friend again
Yea, I thought about the fact that he was still young when he turned out like that. I think only a loss like that could have done it to him. From the beginning drugs were the only way he ever saw himself attaining success. I think he knew the way he got rich like that was a freak occurrence and he wouldnât be able to do it again, especially being who he was and being watched.
Even though Franklin was the top dog but he fell so low he still confessed his love for his homie. That's some bittersweet type of shit how it ended though.
it amazes me that Leon went to see Franklin when he had nothing. goes to show that there is still people who can trust people out in this messed up world. and Franklin seeing that he laughs because he can't believe it so he tells him something Franklin believes in. when he says you hear me. that's the old Saint talking. and Leon nodding his head is the Leon that use too look up to franklin
Because God could be using that particular thing to take away the unnecessary friends that need to be taken away in that person's life so they can focus on solitude
Who kept it a hunnid wit him? Unc & Louie went behind his bacc so he got out the game then teddy stole from him his girl stole from him Leon wouldnât help him out when he needed it then his mother killed teddy right before gettin his money back they did him dirty
Franklin and Leon went completely opposite lives than we thought they would from the beginning of the show. Leon got his mind right after being hard headed and Franklin was just an innocent kid who got rejected by the school system to killing anyone who crossed him to losing his mind.
I dropped some tears ainât even gon cap. Canât believe my boy let himself go out like that. Still had some properties. Shoulda just sold his stake in that building project and got outta town smh.
Franklin's down fall wasn't greed and it wasn't power...his biggest downfall was expecting the same love he gave to other ppl...when Louie, Jerome, Veronique, Leon, Cissy, and Alton didn't have nothin he put all of them on their feet and when it was time that he needed them the most they turned their backs on him..Leon had 3million and wouldn't give Franklin a dollar.. Louie stole his plug behind his back.. Veronique took $800K from him..Alton sold him out..Jerome tried to kill him and Cissy didn't care to even give him a explanation on why she killed Teddy..the moral of this story is just because you got a good heart and do right by others don't mean they will do right by you and i think thats a lesson we all had to learn at one point in life..if Louie,Veronique, Cissy,Jerome,Leon or Alton would of jus helped franklin when he came begging for their help he wouldn't of turned to the liquor for help and became a junky like his dad .. Franklin literally looked out for everyone, when needed them, they abandoned him. Even worked together to keep him from his dream. Franklin had a dream of being totally legit, soon as that dream got into reach, everyone went their own way. Always remember no one wanted to invest in down town deal. Which gave Teddy time to keep Franklin from going legit.
This story resonates with almost every hood dude before he turns into a savage. Most ppl look for self in general. Itâs the reason ppl go crazy itâs the reason ppl kill steal and seek to destroy. Having a good heart can make you ruthless. I suffer from ptsd from the same exact things that happened to him minus the millions. This scene actually woke me up and made me realize I gotta get back on my shit and to never let miserable ppl dictate how you move.
The is the biggest cope ever đ if you honestly are trying to convince yourself Franklin was right your an idiot đ this is literally the point that the show is trying to show you but your ignoring it just cause you like Franklin, everyone that âbetrayed himâ didnât betray him they chose the path that would ultimately end in success, âFranklin had a dream of being totally legitâ letâs me know you didnât understand shit about what the show was saying đ you donât just get to walk away from this unscathed, you donât get to kill countless people destroy everyoneâs lives an think because you transition to a legit business you get to walk away from everything an ride off into the sunset freely, not saying that everyone else didnât have their part in this but they turned away before it was to late, you say they betrayed Franklin but they stayed with him until the end despite knowing he was wrong, he only cared about money in the end not his family not his wife not his kid just the money, an in the end he became everything he hated an said he wouldnât become so stop trying to justify his actions by saying itâs everyone else fault because they arenât willing to give up everything for money thatâs not even worth the price they paid
You got it all wrong homie. Franklin is a controlling sociopath, if he wouldâve treated Rome and Louie like partners instead of his workers they never wouldâve got at Teddy behind his back, and Alton and Cissy tried to help him by telling him to break ties with Teddy but he wouldnât listen, and Veronique only left him after he put his hand around her throat and told her to never go behind his back. In the end everything wrong that happened was Franklins fault, he caused the entire downfall.
Couple of things here, Leon standing there, Franklin standing that close, telling him he his best friend. Meanwhile Franklin breathe probably smelling like a ashtray filled with ashes and butts. But seriously to come back and see your day 1 like this would hurt like hell. I would have questions.
While it was sad for Leon, their views were different. Leon saw Franklin, even with all the money, morally always heading in that direction of despair. The physical manifestation of what Franklin had become internally probably sure did hurt him though.
@@OPENLATE_REELS trust me, I've seen it before, seeing it again, not to this magnitude though. This may sound crazy it feels good to have enough money not to worry ( comfortable living). actually cried like crazy... I pray they win all the awards they can with this masterpiece cause it was beautiful right till the ending with franklin walking off with nothing and pride playing in the background.
@@OPENLATE_REELS she gave him an ultimatum. No one told her to do that. She saw how hard he worked to get those millions and that he would scorch the earth to get his money back, and she still wanted to make him choose. Most people today would do the same thing if their mothers saw how hard they toiled for their money and still gave them a BS ultimatum like that.
I think it was getting got by Teddy and Peaches almost simultaneously in season 5 that send Franklin spiraling. Getting hit with all of that would have sent anyone over the edge, but in life, you also have to reassess and react to new realities as they come up. Franklin was nowhere near broke after losing 78 million dollars between Teddy and Peaches, even if most of his assets weren't liquid. Even after Veronique took Franklin's money and split, Franklin still could have sold the Spring Street property for whatever he could get out of it. Franklin had dumped millions into that property. If he could have recouped even a couple million, or even some hundreds of thousands, that would have been a great new start for Franklin, but that just wasn't the vibe Franklin was on at that time.
The character of Franklin had some crazy development & was out of control. They say money changed him & all cared about was his product & business, yet what they donât speak on is how he was a great friend, & he didnât turn his back on Leon even when his adversaries were gunning for him & his family. He still was a rider. & thatâs why I fuck with Franklin Saint nuhgahhh!

@@wc6081 and his mother is in jail forever. Even with Franklin completely disagreeing with her decision to kill Teddy at the moment, he still was desperately wanted her to get away.
This scene is more beautiful than sad to me bc Franklin lost everything but he still has life heâs not bound by societal and environmental standards anymore heâs not bound by greed, pride and thirst for power and thatâs the true meaning of freedom Franklin said he was after in the beginning of the show. And he can still start all over and choose the right path
Since there's spinoff coming up for snowfall we might not see Franklin in the spinoff but it wouldn't hurt to mention him to let us fans know how how he turned out.
@@TheGr8-1 I'm talking about When they do Wanda spinoff obvious we probably ain't gonna hear about franklin until later seasons but I'm talking about how he's holding up after this shit happen.
I think in the spinoff snowfall show they have upcoming they should have Franklin get cleaned up and having him work with Leon with the job Leon offer him that would be perfect. Have Leon send Franklin to get help for the alcoholic addiction 1st episode then we don't see Franklin again until last episode with Franklin cleaned up with him seeing his child.
I agree with everything you said, especially what you said about Teddy. I had major doubts about the escrow deal at the end, and I thought Teddy was about to screw Franklin over again. Because Teddy had a password, we know that Teddy had a pre-existing relationship with the escrow company. Teddy apparently placed $37 million in escrow, but he did so without a contract for the escrow company to go by. Seriously, the money was placed in escrow over the phone in 1987. Only Teddy's authorization by password would release the funds to Franklin. Had Cissy not shot Teddy, and had Teddy not released the funds to Franklin, Franklin would have had literally no recourse. Disputed funds in escrow can be litigated in court, but with everything about the situation between Teddy and Franklin being wrong and illegal, Franklin obviously was not going to file a lawsuit to make the escrow company release the funds in honor of the non-existent contract. Franklin was screwed. Teddy was always in control. Whatever "password" Teddy was about to give when Cissy shot him, I seriously doubt that Franklin was going to get that money back. Teddy's entire goal at the end was to get out of that warehouse and into a public space. Once Franklin and Cissy took Teddy to the park, Franklin effectively lost control of the situation, because unless Franklin was willing to shoot Teddy in public at the park and go to prison, Franklin had no chance of getting Teddy back in captivity.
@@Tes7000 I agree with what you're saying but Franklins ace in the hole was that KGB agent. Lets say Teddy fucks Franklin and makes it out of the situation. Franklin works with the KGB and gets America releasing drugs into their cities on International news and now not only does Teddy's operation get blown up but the entire world is now looking at the US like food. Franklin had control of the situation which is why he was able to make it out of the situation after CIssy shot him in the first place
Nah his fam was his downfall.he wasnt greedy he give them the chance to do them and they crossed him when he needed them the most..louie a dirty mf for that
@@vonbrewer4199 By the time Louie worked out a deal to buy from Teddy directly, Franklin had made $80 million, which was more than 5 times what Louie and Jerome had made, and that was in spite of the fact that Franklin basically sold most of his product using Louie and Jerome for distribution. At the beginning of season 5, Louie and Jerome told Franklin straight up that they were looking to branch out on their own. Sitting on a mountain of cash, Franklin told them to stay put and keep doing all the work while giving Franklin most of the money. How was Franklin being fair to Louis and Jerome?
Exactly. But had he said it early it may have changed a lot. How much of a complex do you have to have that it takes losing everything you ever had to really show the person whoâs been there from the start that you appreciate them, that youâre proud of him?

A very fitting end⊠it would have been cool to see Franklin, Veronique and their child parked on a beach in an unknown location, but a great ending nonetheless. Anything is better than the ending âThe Sopranosâ hit the fans with đ€đ€đ€
It would have been awesome if Franklin had allowed that to happen, but that is not the vibe he was on by the end. He was in full on psychosis and delusional about that Spring Street money pit. Franklin and Veronique would have been just fine living off the income from the South Central properties, or they could have simply lived off the $800k he got from the sale of those properties. That was pretty damn good money 30 years ago (not even bad money now). But when Franklin told Veronique he was going to dump all that money into that money pit commercial project, she knew she had to get that money and run before all that money went down the drain in foreclosure, which is exactly what happened three months later because Franklin refused to sell. It was obvious to me all season that Franklin was headed towards a rough ending, but I thought it was brilliant nonetheless.

This scene hurt my soul to its core. The acting was incredible. Franklin literally became his father in the end - a homeless alcoholic held bondage to addiction. Dying a slow death. Itâs a sad reality. Give this man a golden globe post haste.
Franklin deserved a far worse ending than what he got; from Allowing the guy that robbed him to be raped to flooding his own community with the crack cocaine he deserved to lose his life along with all the others that helped him, with the exception of his mother none of them should have lived at the end! đŻđ„đđđ
Some may say this is a fate worse than death. Franklin has to live with all the things that he did,and probably might take or lose his own life in the process. The drinking and bum lifestyle is helping him avoid his trauma, but I promise you he has nightmares everyday. I remember when Andrea asked Franklin how does he sleep at night poisoning your own community. Franklin responded with âlike a babyâ. And thatâs far from it.

Same thing for me with my brother 26 years ago when mental illness set in on him. He wouldnât let me help him then and now the only thing he wants is a haircut and a change of clothes. I still cry over this shit. I felt Leon pain looking at Franklin.
I would move mountains...with my bare hands...just to hear this from one person...

Great acting, great writing, great show. RIP John singleton.
This scene as heart breaking as it is. Him walking away from his friend, best thing he could do for him.

Saddest ending ever. At least he lived, but those regrets will haunt him forever.
I watched this alot . What Iâm getting from this is that Leon knows itâs only a matter of time before Franklin dies and he will never see his friend again
Correct
Sad to think he was only about 24 or 25. It took Alton 10 years to get off the bottle, hopefully it'll be close for Franklin too
Yea, I thought about the fact that he was still young when he turned out like that. I think only a loss like that could have done it to him. From the beginning drugs were the only way he ever saw himself attaining success. I think he knew the way he got rich like that was a freak occurrence and he wouldnât be able to do it again, especially being who he was and being watched.
Real freeway ross (dude frank is based on) did jail time popped out with a book and is doing pretty well from what I looked into

Even though Franklin was the top dog but he fell so low he still confessed his love for his homie. That's some bittersweet type of shit how it ended though.
Crazy in the end he turned into what his dad use to be
He became who he feared the most his father
it amazes me that Leon went to see Franklin when he had nothing. goes to show that there is still people who can trust people out in this messed up world. and Franklin seeing that he laughs because he can't believe it so he tells him something Franklin believes in. when he says you hear me. that's the old Saint talking. and Leon nodding his head is the Leon that use too look up to franklin

Franklin and Leon went completely opposite lives than we thought they would from the beginning of the show. Leon got his mind right after being hard headed and Franklin was just an innocent kid who got rejected by the school system to killing anyone who crossed him to losing his mind.

Ruff ending but a real one,no real love in these streets this shit will chew u up and spit u outđ«€
Damn I never thought about that. Definitely two sides to the story.
In the end everything wrong that happened was Franklins fault, he caused the entire downfall.
â@@ConnectedNCali94 he told Teddy to take his money?
The fact that he was betrayed by two women he loved the most broke him completely...
When he told his mother he would be fine not seeing her forever that broke her
@@OPENLATE_REELS she gave him an ultimatum.

Old heads say," A drunk man tells no tales". Simple statement but the weight of those words hit heavy.
Bro really has to get drunk because everyday of his life he has to live with the fact that he was couple seconds away from leaving the game living a very comfortable life. Its hard to do anything after that, especially for someone like him.
On god
Yes plus all the people he killed and work he put in⊠He seen and did too much to live with himself completely sober. Heâs killed friends, people who were like family, enemies etc.

Greed and ego was Franklinâs downfall. Teddy was going to screw him no matter what though.đ€·đŸââïž Damson is a damn good actor!!!
He felt that from the beginning but was to proud and stubborn to say it, It took him losing everything to finally say it

@@Tes7000 THIS IS WHAT IâVE BEEN SAYING! He still couldâve had a good ending! But that pride and ego is a mf.

This scene hurt my soul to its core. The acting was incredible. Franklin literally became his father in the end - a homeless alcoholic held bondage to addiction. Dying a slow death. Itâs a sad reality. Give this man a golden globe post haste.
No words can describe the deep shit that's going on in this scene. One of, if not the best ending to a tv show. This is not a fairytale
