For what they are and how cheap to buy they are, sing star mics are a pretty good mic. Although, I owned 2 sets of the official mics, the first set I got with my ps2 when sing star first came out, and the second set I got with one of the singstar discs about ten years later, and although the first set were welk made and had some weight to them, the second set felt cheap and very plastic-y and not as good quality and crackled a lot. The first set I still use now for singing and guitar recordings, also I have a set of the older ones using adapters on our karaoke machine and they sound better than some of the more expensive more professional mics I've owned. Very hard wearing and have been dropped, thrown, bashed about, slobbered on, had drink spilled into them and god knows what else, and still look and work like new almost 20 years later. The usb adapter works great with the pc, you get a better recording signal on a computer by using the usb adapter with the correct driver for it. Watching this video reminded me to buy another set for a Christmas party for this year where karaoke will feature heavily, and a set from CEX or eBay is usually less than £5/€6/$6.50-ish. and as in this video, every now and then strip them down, give a good clean and sanitising and put back together properly, they will last a long time. But try and buy the heavier older ones if you can. I'm not sure about the third party ones though. Also, if you want a decent usb mic, the WiiU ones are another cheap in price but good quality option.
    Great video. Merry Christmas!
