Nintendo 64 Pikachu Edition (N64) | Restoration
Nintendo 64 - Pokémon Pikachu Edition.
In this video I restore this Nintedo 64 which was very yellowed and had some problems with reading cartridges/games. In 2000, a new housing variant followed in the blue and yellow Pokémon design with a Pikachu figure on the top right and a Poké Ball as an on/off switch. Pikachu's right foot serves as a reset button. There was also a correspondingly colored controller with the lettering Pokémon, unfortunately I haven't been able to buy it yet. To open the console, I need a tool called game bit. Such screws can be found in many Nintendo consoles. I cleaned the plastic and used method called retrobrighting to remove the yellowing from the plastic.

hi mine is triggering the auto stop when a tape is in and i hit play. the tape tension just automatically triggers the white plastic piece for the auto stop. Do you know why? When there is no tape it can lock and play but not when tape is inside.

Hai, does it is a must to put those plastic parts into a waterproof bag before put them under UV light process? If my UV light is not strip type like yours, can i directly pour hydrogen peroxide into the box and put in my yellow plastic parts?

Great video. I have a WM-11 (US version) and am having problems unscrewing the 2nd PCB screw in the video (see at 3.56 minutes). The head appears to be OK/intact but I my screwdriver only grips when tightening the screw (clockwise direction). I've tried using minature pliers without success. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get this screw out. Thanks in advance.

HI! I'm also fixing an old Walkman, but mine is an Aiwa brand. I'm waiting for the new straps, but in the meantime I'm thinking about what I can use to remove scratches from the plastic. I only find amazon products for cars, could you recommend a product to remove scratches from shiny and transparent plastic parts? Would the product you used in the video be good? thanks if you answer me 🙏

For what they are and how cheap to buy they are, sing star mics are a pretty good mic. Although, I owned 2 sets of the official mics, the first set I got with my ps2 when sing star first came out, and the second set I got with one of the singstar discs about ten years later, and although the first set were welk made and had some weight to them, the second set felt cheap and very plastic-y and not as good quality and crackled a lot. The first set I still use now for singing and guitar recordings, also I have a set of the older ones using adapters on our karaoke machine and they sound better than some of the more expensive more professional mics I've owned. Very hard wearing and have been dropped, thrown, bashed about, slobbered on, had drink spilled into them and god knows what else, and still look and work like new almost 20 years later. The usb adapter works great with the pc, you get a better recording signal on a computer by using the usb adapter with the correct driver for it. Watching this video reminded me to buy another set for a Christmas party for this year where karaoke will feature heavily, and a set from CEX or eBay is usually less than £5/€6/$6.50-ish. and as in this video, every now and then strip them down, give a good clean and sanitising and put back together properly, they will last a long time. But try and buy the heavier older ones if you can. I'm not sure about the third party ones though. Also, if you want a decent usb mic, the WiiU ones are another cheap in price but good quality option. Great video. Merry Christmas!

That was my first cassette walkman. It was my everyday companion, I never abused it but eventually it fell into pieces due to the very extensive use. I still keep the circuit board in a drawer. It's got audio 2 chips, the first is a low noise pre-amp, and the second is the headphone amplifier. The headphone amp was really good quality, and that's the reason why I have kept it.

I got it for my 11th birthday in April 2001 but sadly I decided to get rid of it by throwing away at age 15 in 2005. I kinda missed it. Greetings from Ireland 🇼đŸ‡Ș
