Exactly, responsibility caused him misery and it was largely glossed over by his mooching family members.
Yeah... and you see he's not doing on autopilot, he could get up and leave the family at any second (like Steve did) so there's love in his misery.
Well, why didn't he just try and get a better job?

I watched as a child too. I didn't get any of the jokes just stayed for Peg being silly. They would air rerun episodes at like 5 pm on Sundays before Rosanne reruns at 6pm. On weekdays at some point late night, don't remember when but probably after the Simpsons at 11pm on the WB.

I work for a very, very large "woke" company. It's difficult. I"m 49, grew up on All in the Family, Jeffersons, Married with Children, in the Chicago area. I know enough what I can/can't say. And find it's best for me to just stay away from certain people because I can't guarantee I won't slip and speak the truth. I am proud to say though, there is a whole bunch of 20's something's out there that have a lot more sense to them then those older then them. Seek out those types and you'll be fine.

This is/was the Greatest Sitcom that was ever, and has ever been made to come out of the USA. The USA has made so many great Sitcoms over the years however, this is/was the Greatest. This sitcom - is so loved by all Americans - whether Black, White, Asian and other races within the country.
