I have been stopped at security for having a bottled beverage, but once you are thru security, you are allowed to buy beverages and bring them on the plane. I always thought one of the reasons (in addition to the security concerns) was just a way for the airport to make money....lol

It is a way to make money too but have you heard of the money saving hack on overpriced water? You can bring an empty bottle through TSA and after security you can refill it at water refill stations/water fountains for free. And as for ice, go through security and after security you can ask any coffee shop for ice. The coffee shops will likely give you ice free if you have your own container but may be more likely to charge something if they give you in a cup because they are really charging for the cup.

Some airports allow ice through security if it’s not even partially melted you can pour out just the melted part but I think the safer way is to get ice after security. Liquids and gels are prohibited.

My cat has never scratched me on purpose. That being said he’s a very cuddly and clumsy fluff nugget and I love him as much as he loves me. He loves climbing into my lap while I’m sitting or laying down and taking a nap either curled up with his belly exposed or laying straight (the latter is usually while he’s squished himself between my legs while I lay on my back, although I’m usually curled up so he curls up behind my knees in the bends of my legs.)

The concept of the T-rex "not seeing" you if you don't move likely has to do with the response to movement.
You can see this in frogs and lizards.
They won't initially attempt to hunt the insect or worm right in front of them, until their brain registers a specific minimal type of movement.
That way, they won't inadvertently be eating rocks or debris or dead insects.
Hence, if the worm doesn't move, they "don't see it".

Or to get around the bottle "situation" when at the airport, bring it in your bag EMPTY (especially if it's like a clear thermos type bottle) and then fill it at the fountain after getting through security. I've done this (with a 20 or even 24 oz. Bottle), and it's no issue (I just show them my EMPTY water bottle when going through TSA)...and it helps that I have a high school classmate who works for the TSA...so 😁

Not all figs need to be pollenated by wasps. Persistent (or common) figs have all female flowers that do not need pollination for fruiting; the fruit can develop through parthenocarpic means. This is a popular horticulture fig for home gardeners. Dottato (Kadota), Black Mission, Brown Turkey, Brunswick, and Celeste are some representative cultivars. Caducous (or Smyrna) figs require cross pollination by the fig wasp with pollen from caprifigs for the fruit to mature. If not pollinated the immature fruits drop. Some cultivars are Marabout, Inchàrio, and Zidi. Intermediate (or San Pedro) figs set an unpollinated breba crop but need pollination for the later main crop. Examples are Lampeira, King, and San Pedro. Just to set the record staight. There was also a Dutch recipe for apple pie in the early 16th century, in the first printed Dutch cookery Book (Notabel Boecxken van Cokeryen ca. 1514), which only had apples in it.

Back in the early 1970's my dad, on his way home from a trip to Ireland, had a mishap on the plane. LOL, he had a bottle of Irish hooch called pocheen, probably spelled wrong, in his pocket. At 35,000 feet it blew up, soiled his coat pocket and stunk to high heaven. Almost no one suspected him.

In Jurassic Park, the reason why Grant believed that the T-Rex vision was based on movement, is explained in the original novel and partially explained in the movie.
when the scientists harvested the DNA, it was fragmented, full of holes. they needed to fill in those holes with DNA from moden animals.
the movie claimed that they used frog DNA, but in the book, the T-Rex had chameleon DNA mixed in. This had the effect of giving the T-Rex a long prehensile tongue. but I guess Grant also figured that because frogs and chameleeons only strike when the prey is moving around in front of them, that the T-Rex wouldn't strike?
but then again, in the book, the T Rex used its tongue to feel around until it found what it was looking for

I just can't believe no one ever pointed out this misconception: The USA officially uses the Metric system. They have pledged to use this system 3 times already. Moreover, they are the international guardians of the units of measurement that hold the whole metric system together. Still if you ask most citizens of the United States they still believe that their official measurement system is the imperial one...which comes from Britain, which they fought with fervor to gain their independence of the crown. But after they won i guess they kinda liked some of the imperial stuff.
