    Thankfully, there are alcohol free mouthwash (even hairsprays) now. For those of us with ‘dry mouth’ syndrome (either as a side effect of many different medications or other reasons), they work well and do not add to this issue. For dry skin and hair, there are phosphate free (or greatly reduced) choices. 🙂

    Another fun fact about pee is that it was used to dye fabric and to tan leather. Stale, old pee is left to sit around until it's good and ripe and then was added to a vat of indigo dye solution. The resulting brew helped deposit bits of indigo onto fabric fibers and helped "develop" the color, much like you develop exposed film to produce a photo. Indigo, mostly used today in your blue denim jeans, has been around for millennia and makes a beautiful blue from sky to midnight and everything in between. Indigo also doesn't stain the clothing fibers like other dyes do, hence the need for pee which helps it bond to the outside of the fibers, which is why your jeans fade in the wash. Indigo dye merely coats the fibers and doesn't penetrate them very well at all. The more you know. (I'm a textile artist as well as shepherd and a few other things.)
    Oh and the thing with split socks worn with sandals? The Japanese still do that. They're called tabi and are quite comfortable. They wear the split socks with a number of types of sandals but mostly with zori or geta, depending on what else they're wearing (formal or informal respectively).

    • @elultimo102
      @elultimo102 Před rokem +1

      After the acid-washed, faded, and ripped-up jeans era, I fully expected that midnight blue neatly pressed jeans would be in vogue. (Since you could never fix all the rips or get the color that dark---necessitating the purchase of new jeans. (planned obsolescence).

    There is NO difference between using a donated person's teeth or their heart! Just like saying, "you're reusing a dead guy's"... heart, lung, liver or skin even. BE _grateful_ that we had something when we needed it. Many people today STILL don't have that luxury.
    All a dead body is is wasted potential fertile soil. Yet we don't compost people much, yet. California is finally doing it & resoiling forests & families can use it to grow trees with. When we die, we are PERFECTLY naturally & biodegradable, bones & all in 6 weeks. Nah, let's continue to waste what little land we have left on this planet. Not using those _tens of thousands_ of archers of land on the living, use it on the useless dead. AND, Don't you _dare_ grow trees on those graveyards either! THAT is useless.

    Yum, drinking goat poop and vinegar or radium while soaking in a whale carcass and brushing my teeth with hog hair just sounds like the ideal day for me 👍🏼😂

    My brothers sometimes wear socks with sandals because they don’t want to get sand on their feet. It looks perfectly fine to me as I have bare feet 24/7 but my feet don’t get dirty, hurt nor get infected. I may wear shoes and socks, yes but I allow my feet to breathe.

    In the 60s as a child, I remember my mother would go out of her way to purchase egg shampoo. It was yellow and creamy with a nice pearly shine to it. Said it contained egg in mixture. But I'm not sure. It smelled good, made hair soft and manageable. By the 70s, it was gone.

    The two-toed socks at the end of the video made me think of Nightcrawler’s feet in X-Men.

    This is a wonderful video, as your video's tend to be! In exchange for the curious and exciting information provided, I encourage you to research the Etruscans, who are were the people responsible for teaching the Romans about such wonders as plumbing, aqueducts, and even how to design and build cities. Take a gander into their history, you might be surprised at what you find.
