Ugh I’m so sick and tired with how they’re treating Ben throughout the whole ordeal. Yeah I know what Lola’s going through is terrible and yes everything should be centred on her during her final moments, but Ben is going through hell too and he’s been nothing but the biggest support for everyone no matter what he’s enduring.
I agree. Ben had the right to talk to Lexi because he's her dad Jay can't try to sugar coat this Lola is going to die and Lexi should hear first instead of finding put afterwards and getting mad at her dad and Jay.
But he's telling Lexi that he can do something to keep Lola alive much longer. How is that fair when the reality is that palliative chemo isn't working so she's out of options and it's just about her quality of life towards the end. Ben is been an idiot.

When Lexi gets upset and complains that Lola lied to her again, Ben talks about her secondary school date a few months away and how HE is going to do everything he can to make sure that "Mommy is there for all of it" at the 1:36 mark. She's a kid and doesn't need 2 different versions of what's happening to Lola. That is Lola's decision as the person dying to talk to Lexi and tell her what's going on and Ben and Jay to back her up.

Jay has to understand that sugar coating things won't make it better. Jay shouldn't have gotten on to Ben. Yeah at the end of the day Lexi is Ben and Lola's daughter not Jay's. Jay is just step dad just like Callum. I understand that Jay loves Lexi but you can't protect her from the truth forever.

My God, what a mess. Imagine when Lola dies and they both have to raise Lexi. That's why I've commented a lot here that this PR thing was poorly written and that they didn't discuss how it was going to work. They finally told Lexi that Lola is going to die soon. I hope they show more of the character from now on. Ben is not considering Lola's wishes or her pain. The way he told Lexi was not nice. He made it sound as if she had given up.
Ben can only work with the story-lines and dialogue he's been given and he was right to tell Lexi the truth ... he has every right, he's her Dad (but why do they have to keep giving Lexi these lines where she keeps accusing people of lying to her - just makes her come across as a brat). Unless I got it wrong, Ben has already stepped up and helped out both Lola and Jay with money to help them get through, and didn't he arrange for Jay not to have to work during this period. Even though it didn't come to anything, he also tried to find a doctor with a cure in the early stages. I don't see that he's been selfish at all, quite the reverse.

Billy gave Lola the opportunity to tell Lexi in the hospital and she lied to her twice about the fact that she was going to die soon - thats completely understandable because it must be so hideously difficult for her. Jay coming in and shouting at Ben when he told her made that whole situation a load worse, something Ben was handling sensitively Jay made this even more unpleasant than it needed to be. Bens primary concern is Lexi here and so he wanted to tell her the truth, and he said he's going to try his best to keep her mum around, which he is going to do - no matter how misguided that is and we know it ultimately wont work.
After watching the other Eastenders storylines, I realize that this soap opera loves to go to the worst in the conflicts between the characters. For example, Stacey's daughter found out about her mother's secret in the worst, most dramatic way: her schoolmates watched her videos. I'm afraid to say that as far as Jay's adoption of Lexi goes, it's likely that the worst situation will happen with Ben. Callum is Bean's husband, so he can take care of Lexi if Ben is in trouble. But if Jay has to be the foster parent, it may be because Callum won't be around. I don't like rumors, but it could be that Callum leaves Ben alone with his health problem, after he gets worse with Lola's death. That is the worst situation, the most dramatic. I see that Callum now does nothing, this character does not have a goal to achieve. It may be that Tony Clay is on vacation, but so far nothing is seen. I have to say, if Ben stays and Callum leaves, there's no point in watching Ben's story anymore. He will only be a zombie, since nobody supports or tolerates him. Ben will be jealous of Jay for Lexi and if Callum is not around, Ben will be completely on his own, with no interaction between other characters. This soap opera also screwed up Alfie and Kat, and now they want to revive a new character, so the best case scenario, Ben and Callum leaving as a couple, I don't see. Other gay couples have already left, and I don't know what the writers are looking for with Ben and Callum.
Ben did the correct thing here. When my dad was dying, and I wasn't aware that it was happening, I knew that something was wrong. No one would tell me what it was. And it was confusing and horrible. The fact is is that Lexi needed to know.
Taking this moment away from Lola, was cruel and once again shows Ben is only thinking of himself. Lola should have been there, Ben should never have gone and done it alone without telling her.

I’m not mad at ben, he’s in denial and trying to help lola, they are all dealing with this in dif ways but he definitely could have waited to have this convo with Jay and Lola like they planned earlier, the way he told lexi wasn’t fair on her.

He's not being condescending. He's trying to manage a very difficult situation along with his wife and Ben is acting like a child, making things worse. At this point, treatment is over. They are in home hospice, trying to keep Lola comfortable. How Ben said it made this much worse.
