    The like to dislike ratio of the winning performance on CZcams is totally normal, especially when a jury favorite wins. All the whiny people who wanted another act to win (this year mainly Croatia) go to CZcams and dislike the video of the winner just to prove a point or something. It's... strange.

    If you look at the complexity of the song (it is a song contest after all) and that it manages to still work muscially. The difficulty of the singing part, the absolute vocal accuracy of the live performance as well as the artistic and acrobatic delivery … yes it absolutely should have and rightfully is first place. I love the the song from croatia and it rocks hard, as well as europapa. But in none of these is there that amount of vocal, musical and artistic excellency, they are absolute whopping party/rock songs, for sure but vocally and harmonically none of the other two are even half as challenging. That Nemo performed like this and sang that accurately is quite an achievement in anyones eyes who have ever dipped into singing. And yes I am Swiss, but besides Gyons Tears i have only ever been embarrassed about the quality of our song entries for the last 2 decades! Until Nemo came and I was gobsmacked, because it is outstanding: muscially , artistically and vocally!

    Nemo was by miles the worthy winner, the absolute best song and performance! No doubt! Hands down!! It just blew every other song and performance completely out of the water, and that is why this is the winning entry! It's more than just "deserved", any other song winning instead of this one would have been an abhorrent injustice. This was definitely this year's winner to anyone that has a good set of ears, a good pair of eyes and any sense of good taste. I was shocked by Croatia getting those many points, so many people are so dense and daft. The Croatian singer was charismatic but the song was weak. No shade, it's just a fact. That's why the public vote can be so scary, cause there's always the dense skulled and daft pulling out crap like the Croatian vote. People complain about the Jury, but the dense of mind are why the jury needs to exist to counter the astounding lack of sense of so many in the populace. Seriously it's shit like Croatia getting all those points this year that really makes me go: WTF is wrong with people?! The word is just scary. But luckily good taste prevailed this time and Switzerland got its more than just place as the winner.

      At first view, I liked Croatia's song better. It's very energetic. That stays, but it does become less interesting with repeated viewings. Nemo's gets more interesting over time. Rim Tim Tagi Dim is a rather one-note song while The Code is extremely varied.
      Overall, it's clear to me that Nemo deserved to win. Great song, fantastic voice with wide range, physically demanding, deep and heartfelt, flawlessly executed. I think the people who claim Nemo won because of their identity got it wrong: Nemo "only" came in fifth in the audience vote because there are still too many people whose heads explode if they see a guy in a skirt.

    Switzerland and Croatia were the best performances and at the end there has to be a winner. The victory is deserved and there must be a “performance” reason why 22 countries gave 12 points to Switzerland. Even countries having no particular reason / relation- , nor are neighbours to Switzerland gave 12 points. Just rely on public votes is also not correct, otherwise Israel and Ukraine would be ranked 2nd and 3rd which is then indeed political…

    • @DACHBenelux
      @DACHBenelux  Před měsícem +9

      In the movie inception, there's a concept where you need to have a totem, any object, that helps you tell what is a dream from what is reality. Leo's character had a spinning top which kept spinning in a dream, but fell when it stopped spinning. Nemo spinning on top of that spinning stage is a reference to inception.
      Speaking of, it's quite impressive what Nemo did, spinning on top of a stage while doing the bullet time (matrix reference) and still singing without missing a beat 😂😅

    Since you're kinda basing the premise of the video on it, it's important to note that the ratio on videos uploaded after YT took public-facing dislikes away is basically bullshit anyways, since for those no actual data is available, so the Return Dislikes extension just kinda extrapolates what the ratio might be based exclusively on the behavior of its own users.
    I think it's easy to see from there how the user base for an extension for returning dislikes might be a bit biased towards making use of that feature. Not to mention the already controversial nature of this year's competition.

    Sorry but sadly Eurovision always was about politics. That’s why they made the jury vote because people often vote for their favorite country not for the song. What I think what’s the problem about the juries is that they are also not objective. If it comes to politics Switzerland definitively isn‘t a country that‘s very popular nor polarising. Yes you can say that maybe Nemo had LGBTQIA+ Community behind them but there they definitively weren‘t the only artist.
    I also prefered Croatia just from listening because it reminded me a lot on Rammstein but to me Nemo is the absolute fair winner because of their vocal talent and the composition of the song plus their performance while singing absolutely flawless what‘s very difficult.
    And my opinion since years is that the artists should compete without letting people know which country they‘re from. But that‘s almost impossible with social media because they would leak it anyway.

But good songs still are rewarded, like this one which is very good. Eurovision being political is one of the reasons I like it so much, and they went ever more political by trying to not be - aka not banning Israel because " they aren't political " yet Russia is still banned , and trying to ban flags which weren't of participing country ( palestinian flags and LGBTQ+ flags , AND European flags ), disqualified Netherland for no good reason, ect..

    Imagine how many more votes he would have gotten, if he would have worn pants and kept his gender identity to himself. Luckily those didn't effect the juries. For the juries Nemo's song was clearly the thing since they favored the song so much more than the rest, and compared even to their second favorite song. The other songs they couldn't position so consistently in their judging for some reason. Personally I didn't find one song clearly better than the rest and hearing people finding above the rest gold nuggets in everything there is in Nemo's song is just ridiculous to me. Like I don't mean to offend, but song having rap in it doesn't make the song the best ever. Nor does having some opera there too. And some could say that having a bunch of movie references in the act doesn't speak for imaginary artistry. It's not like movies copying other movies are usually viewed as masterpieces. And what comes to staging and performance, Nemo's isn't the one of the entries I'd pick to showcase what staging and performance can be at their finest. Considering choreography alone, what Nemo did on stage didn't require that much talent compared to some other entries' choreographies. What comes to the song itself, if there's loads of people who can't even remember how the song goes after having heard it several times, it's probably not the best of songs. And why should you have to apologize your opinion regarding a competition, in which the songs and performances are being judged. if Nemo went to the competition to win, he certainly wore the skirt and brought the gender identity into the frame thinking doing so would secure points and votes. Which then raises the question does those have something to do with a great song. The common people of course can vote for whatever reason, but considering how the juries judge songs and performances. It would lead to gender discrimination, if songs and performances would be favored by juries by performer's gender, wouldn't it.
