Practice Changing Papers in Emergency Medicine from 2021

This is a talk I gave at the Saudi Arabian Society of Emergency Medicine (SASEM) annual conference in February 2022. In it, I discuss practice changing papers. I cover the RECOVERY trial, which evaluated the use of dexamethasone, tocilizumab, Regeneron and more for COVID-19. I discuss evidence from the FALCON study (moonshot programme) to evaluate lateral flow devices for diagnosis of COVID-19. Then I move on to non-COVID topics: helmet vs facemask CPAP; CT coronary angiography for patients with acute coronary syndrome; and antibiotics versus surgery for patients with acute appendicitis.
