@free_wifi_kids CoD is a soulless cash grab so I wouldn't expect much effort there. I do agree though, graphics are degrading, mostly because of AI upscaling turning everything into a blurry mess. Most of the time you have to use it to achieve a good frame rate and if you're on console you don't even have a choice which is even worse. They are introducing more useless features like ray tracing which half of the time you can't even tell the difference between on vs off apart from you losing half of your frames. Then you've got the extremely high resolution textures that require 10 gpus worth of vram to run, and unless you sit there staring at them they don't even look any different, plus they end up making the file size massive. Don't even get me started on unreal engine games either. Yeah gaming is fucked.
Underworld was so cool to me since she had dynamic arms that would reach out to brush walls or move branches in front of her and even shake water off. Such a cool game

Yep, she was doing the dual-wielding Gun-Fu long before Max Payne. The fact they got rid of all of that in the remake and made her slightly stubbier just really ruined the whole thing.
She's basically a different character tho, the remakes went for a more realistic survivor Laura who wasn't an acrobatic dual wielding badass so she acts tired and is barely getting by in the 2013 one whereas the old ones she's fighting whole dinosaurs 😂

I don't know why _this_ reminded me, but: the Tomb Raider movie gave us my personal favorite version of Lara. She took life by the horns and raided tombs mostly just for the thrill of it. I get the appeal of the "humanized/vulnerable" Lara that the recent games have given us, but I personally would love to see more of "Lara the daredevil" than "Lara the college graduate".

Tomb Raider: Underworld will forever have the most attractive Lara Croft. The whole game was visually so impressive and breathtakingly beautiful. For it's time ofc. I've been longing for an TR: Underworld Remastered (enhanced graphics overhaul for modern generation consoles) for ages. 😊
For me it's the last three, 2013-2018, since her proportions are like...believable. Underworld was closer to believable but that waistline was still way too cartoonish. It's like Jessica Rabbit, I can tell they were TRYING to make her hot, but I cannot personally find that hot. It's too cartoonish.

The story had so much potential. It's a pity they split up the dev teams. I think they had to rebuild the engine from the ground up because the PS2s hardware changed. Eidos wouldn't budge with another delay so they had to release it in the state that it was in. I have very fond memories playing it as a kid though

Everyone talking about Legends, Anniversary and Underworld but Angel of Darkness will always have a place in my heart. As a kid I never realized that the controls were somewhat difficult and that there were a few glitches so I thought it was totally normal and I played without looking at the internet for solving puzzles. It definitely took me a while to progress through levels but I enjoyed every moment of it. Oh and one more thing.. The soundtracks!! Gotta love it
Underworld was great. Her frontal assets have physics whenever you moved in any way. Not sure if others had it, but I always noticed it greatly in UW haha
Now I want to see a more modernized version of Lara of the original game not just a remastered version. I know the reboot was decent. But I need to see the classics get modernized. I know they remastered already but a modernized version needs to happen for the classic games.

Makes me wonder if it's worth giving the game a try. So far I've completely avoided it because I heard it's a disappointing unfinished bugfest...
It's because it came out on a new console generation, same as Legend's. Honestly, AOD was buggy but maybe not as much as you might think. What's mostly annoying/sad to me is having so many clearly unfinished features like money and things to sell, which you almost don't even see anymore in the late game; the RPG mechanics that make no sense, the weird twist at the end and how abruptly the game ends, that one boss fight that can go eff itself 😆 And there are actually a bunch of mechanics that are never explained. Hmm, maybe watching someone else play it would be a better idea for you 😆 and you can always play it yourself afterwards
Honestly I bought and played AoD PC version and it was absolutely playable. There were nearly no bugs at all. Maybe I have a latter version where some bugs might've been fixed I dunno, BUT all of that aside the game is absolutely atmospheric and awesome anyway. I would definitely recommend to try it out
The game with its latest patches was definitely not the buggy mess people make it out to be. It has glitches, it has unfinished parts (both technical and story wise), but nowhere near as bad as people say it is. Yet, if you want to try it, I would advise playing with the Restoration project mod. It fixes most of the issues, makes controlling Lara more modern-user friendly, does slight edits to make the levels make a bit more sense in the loose parts (story wise mostly), etc. This mod makes the game feel like the finished product it could have been, if it had been given an extra month or so.
