It had a massive impact on me, and actually became the first putter I ever bought a full stack of. I think at the end of this series you should do the beginner bag vs your bag and see which scores better. Alternatively you could give the recommended beginner bag to someone and see if they shot better on a course than their average
Heya Robbie! Do you think we could get tracers for your throws? I watch your videos on my phone. Likely most people are. Its really hard to see the disc. Most likely because of your ridiculous power and arm speed, its getting out to 400' before it slows enough for us mere mortals to see it. So tracers would be awesome! Make it happen Silas! Foundation's vids too! 😂
I bagged my watt instantly😂 I love it! I'm actually super excited to see what it's like in electron soft. I might try to putt with it
I love the Watt for approach shots of say 75'-150' where I want the disc to keep whatever angle I throw it on. Very reliable. No turn, no fade.
Please continue with the comparisons, and stepping them up by speed is an excellent idea.
I tried out a Nova when I was first learning backhand form (because Paul said it was good for that) and absolutely loved it. The first one I had lasted forever and took tree hits just fine until I sailed it into a lake. Bought two replacements and they BOTH broke within like three months. It took a while to find something to replace it, but I have finally fallen in love with Star Colts in that dead straight putter slot.
I would always recommend a Lat64 pure and an MVP atom. I've used them to both putt and throw. Lots of plastic to choose from and they always come out consistent off the rack.
Honestly, this series is amazing and It is changing this newbies bag.
I would recommend a Pure for the 3 speed. Great for beginners and 2x world champions.
For the 3 speeds you could go battle of the world champ discs. Prodigy PA-3 vs Lat 64 Pure.

For 3 speeds I recommend the proxy because it comes in a variety of plastics for if you want an overstable one in the glow or an understable one in the neutron soft which will also beat in

Do want to say I love this series first of all, and your content over all! You are saving me and my game one stroke at a time. I do recommend a disc close to your heart though for the next video. How about the pig vs the sockibomb slammer? A little Ricky Wysocki face off, and a good way to show approach shots. Maybe even best approach shot form.

Best beginner 3 speed is Proxy, but that's pretty heavy MVP representation to start.
I love the flight of both of these discs, just can't get over the hand feel of the nova
I hear that. The Nova works well, but I just couldn't get comfortable with it.
For 3 speeds, the infinite discs tomb or the RPM Tui would be great. They are drastically different in flight though with the tomb being slightly overstable and the Tui being slightly understable

Nova was one of my first discs. Still love it.
I added a Watt 2 months ago and it is absolutely amazing. My approach game has improved immediately and the disc almost throws itself....
RPM Tui is my favorite 3 speed, and a criminally underrated manufacturer! Deputy is a great beginner 3 speed as well. But the real question is - does Robbie give the Pig the honorable mention in the 3 speed video or the 4 speed video??
Love the Tui, comes in lots of different great plastics too. Agreed RPM is criminally underrated!
Rpm is also underrated for players with big hands. Its a gamechanger for me in terms of handfeel

IM doing well thanks for asking, I did go 12 over on my local course so not throwing well but I made time to get out and play.
When I first started getting into disc golf, I also went with XT Novas as my putting putters. Now that I'm used to other discs though, I find they feel too big in my hands, but I did enjoy them for a little while.

I'm enjoying the beginner battle series. @ 13:40 What's "the spark"? 🙃 I started out w/Pures, but quickly found Fission Envy and Neutron Proxy to be my throwing and putting putters of choice. I hope one of them is in your 3 speed beginner battle! I've also tried to love the PA3, but it's just not clicking yet.

Any neutral to understable mid or putter will serve as a good beginner disc. Geeking out about discs is so fun though.
So funny enough, clicked on this and was like "Watch Robbie fall in love with the Watt".
I've had the Watt on my shelf for about a month now and only in the two weeksa have I been using it. It immediately got a spot in the bag. It holds the lines you put it on so well. It replaced my Big Z Luna and Glitch as a throwing putter and will probably replace my ESP Luna for the long distance bids (30-40 ft).
I putt with the Ohm, but also bag the Watt and Glitch. I use the Watt for longer putts, because it is less likely to hyzer out as it nears the basket, I also use it when fighting wind on approach shots or longer approach shots. I use my Glitch for utility mostly if there is obstructions near the basket and I need to softly shape a line or I need to throw under really low branches and I need that extra glide on a flick.
Love the watt. It's a great disc
Next video would be cool if it was the Aviar vs. Pure. Old standard for beginning putters vs. New standard. The OG vs. The New Blood. Itd be kinda cool to see how that battle pans out
For 3 speeds, I recommend the Latitude 64 Pure as well, awesome disc off of the tee

I have a watt and a glitch and love both. Glitch is more for warm ups and some really wild utility shots while the watt for dead straight woods golf.

for 3 speed putters, I've been impressed with the Westside Maiden and Shield, and the DD Deputy might just be my favorite putter of all time.

Please compare a Fierce with any other 3 speed
3 speed? Gateway Shaman (my favorite is the diamond plastic) The first disc I felt comfortable throwing and felt I had any control with. Don't ever see it leaving the bag. I always recommend it.
RPM Tui is a 3 speed that is just so fun to throw and the flight is beautiful
Watt is so good. Replaced my Proxy, Nomad, and Glitch. Already aced twice with it. Very easy to forehand as well.
Does it take some forehand torque? My Opto Pure has to be released on like a 35° heiser in order to fly straight.
@@michaelhoogendoorn3179 yes it does. Throw it with a little hyzer and it will go straight turn and fade back almost straight. I have Aced it forehand twice from around 180ft. The Pure is a lot more flippy. I tried to throw it forehand and it didnt work.
The cowboy hat but not talking about the cowboy hat is comedy genius.
I see a lot of beginners getting recommended the Sensei so I would love to see that compared to some things. Perhaps vs the Maiden or Pa-2?

Yeah I bagged the glitch and really enjoyed it but it’s just horrible in any wind. I tried out a Watt just because I thought the dye job on it looked cool and now all my glitches sit in my car for when I play catch with my son. The Watt is everything I wanted the glitch to be.
3 Speeds: K3 Reko vs Pure Or Pure vs XT Dart
definitely suggest the pa-5 for beginner 3 speed maybe compare it to a pure. They seems like they'd be super different, but they actually fly kinda similar. Try the base plastic pure the Opto pure is more stable though
And to comment on the comparison of the glitch and the watt they are plenty different enough. I bag both of them

The Watt replaced the Judge as a putter. Mine are a similar weight, yet the Watt feels effortless while the judge feels so bulky and not as smooth. I like the feel and flight of the Watt.
Question Robbie? How does a disc fly further when it flips up to flat from a hyzer angle vs throwing it flat in the first place?
How about Axiom Envy v Discraft Luna for 3 speeds? Pretty similar flight numbers. Holy shot vs the Goat putter.
Maiden, Logic, are my favorite 3 speeds.

When you make it to mid-ranges, would love to see the Jay in the mix.
The uplink needs to be on here for understable mids. Uplink and Hex both have to be in the bag
I think ou should review the innova invader. 3-2-0-1. Comes in a range of plastics too.
You could compare 3 speeds of Luna, Dart, Pa3, Sensei, etc.
I still can't find a freakin putter that feels like a S Wizard from gateway.

Watt. Hands-down.
Best 3 speed in my opinion is the Pure. Grabbed one my first year playing disc golf. Used them for putting, upshots, and off the tee. One of my favorites!
Hey Robbie. Great series and I can see where many of these videos could be helpful for beginners. However.......I think you missed the mark on this one!! Considering the video is titled "Best for Beginner".... how many BEGINNERS are throwing PUTTERS 250-350ft from the tee...or even attempting to? I feel a beginner could utilize these Putt and Approach discs for....Approaches. I kept waiting for you to show the benefit to a beginner for bagging one of these, and that would be shot shaping on their approaches from, let's say 150ft or so from behind a tree or an obstacle, or something in the vein of an approach. I don't think it's a bad video and don't mean to be critical, but the title sells to a different audience than the content. PLEASE KEEP MAKING VIDEOS!
Speed 3: Deputy vs Proxy
For 3 speeds I cannot recommend the Clash Discs Popcorn enough. It's a point and shoot throwing putter that has integrity even when thrown hard.

funny thing, i met a guy at my local course who just has a bag of like 40 xt novas and will do a hole 1-2 loop where he throws all the novas, and that's all he really does
The nova will just make you a better player. There is no disc that can do what it does. No matter what angle you put it on it will ride that line. You put it on hyzer it will ride the hyzer line you throw it flat it will never drift left or right no matter how hard or soft you throw it. It will never pop up or fight out EVER. For this reason if you can't throw perfectly flat this disc will tell you what you're doing wrong. It's literally the best disc to give a Newby who's trying to learn to throw flat.
Pure & Proxy, nothing else matters. 😅

Nova isn't gyro in any way, sorry. Nova was specifically created to offer better grip, (and to try to jump on the overmold bandwagon), rather than change the mass distribution. Sadly, Innova's expertise in overmolding is woeful, and the quality isn't there. I've seen many badly molded Nova XTs. The plastics are not durable, and the Nova sounds like a toy when it hits anything.
But we can't deny the fact that it flies dead straight, and does offer better grip than a Star disc.
I mean the holy shot envy is a 3 speed. But it may be more stable then recommend for beginners. Haha
I would throw the Prodigy PA-3 in the mix for 3 speeds. Pun intended;-)

I don't think there is a disc that compares to the nova. I've tried to find it but it doesn't exist. No matter if you throw 10% or 110% they always fly dead straight if you have a flat release. Even when beat in they hardly change at all if any at all. The hiy a tree and immediately fall you don't get crazy bounces and when they hit the ground they stop completely. I've yet to find a disc thay can do what the nova does. There are lots that come close but it just isn't the same.
Wow, the plastic of nova of today feels *even cheaper*? First time I ever held one it felt like a cheap plastic kids toy from Toys R Us. They have a pretty flight, but boy they feel awful in the hand.
