well it’s a big huge jungle and there’s hundreds of thousands of people there. And he wasn’t saying it hasn’t actually happened, but saying that only he himself by his own one self does not know of anyone. He was not over generalizing he was speaking about only his own personal experience. I’d be willing to bet somebody in the world at some time or another time has been eaten or attacked by a caiman crocodile. but of course, i myself have never been there and have not tried to find out by my own one self

Seeing Lex talk about and relive his experiences around real life actual monsters is the most emotive ive ever seen him. I love that almost every human that has been around pure unapologetic nature is simultaneously bewildered and scared shitless. Just imagine, how would we react to complex alien life, not even necessarily sentient life, just animals on a different planet? Think about how frightening, yet astonishing that would be. If aliens have, or ever will, discover this planet, what will they think about shit like black caimans, great whites, anacondas/pythons, etc. I like to think that our wild animals are just as crazy as we imagine alien animals to be.

The little tributary and river is where we had been swimming hours earlier. Supposedly they're more mild than other alligators or crocs, but it didnt' make me feel any better. I'm sure the otters had some fun in their task, but I tend to think it was as much a lesson to the Caiman, it's them letting that dumb reptile know that we ain't food. That this is OUR territory and if you want some more we got all you want. Dolphins do it to Sharks, they'll start battering a shark from all angles and the shark can't get out of there fast enough. The dolphins may enjoy it to some degree, but they don't go out of their way to do it. Otters aren't suicidal, sure they're faster, quicker, and smarter, but fucking with a caiman just for fun seems dumb. The risk/reward playing with what is essentially a dinosaur that survived seems more risk than reward. But what do I know?

Lex, Paul, I was born in the Amazon. I lived in the middle of the jungle for months on end, where Paul refers to - in the Brazilian jungle, at least. He is right the Caymans do not attack people frequently, but there are several communities which live in "palafitas" houses close to the river bed, they are little communities, far, far away from everything. Sometimes kids don't necessarily exert the same level of awareness as an adult would when approaching these majestic creatures, so an elder would come and kill it, for the sake of security, rather than to eat. Of course, loggers could also do the same, but it would be more unlikely because the cayman runs away when they hear the sound of the chainsaws. One human in my scenario is indigenous to the region very much like the cayman, the other is an alien.

That is intriguing. Where do you live now? How much time did you spend there? You speak very good English for someone born in South or central America

I like Paul but his little mannerisms would be super annoying after 6 months in the Amazon

jumping in the Amazon River and swimming in the area of apex predators just isn’t smart. You’re an adrenaline junkie. I’m the same way on a motorcycle. Going 100mph on highways isn’t smart. I love & respect your passion for wildlife.
