- Hello all, today I thought I'd share my story about my illness, Scleroderma and a little on how it has affected my life. We plan to do more content based around Scleroderma and to raise more awareness to the rare illness. I hope that people will find my story interesting, as there is still much to be told! 🙂
Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease that comes in two forms. One that just involves the skin and the other that involves both skin and organs. I have the form that has organ involvement or Systemic Scleroderma. As explained in the video, I am now in remission and have been for several years now. However, it was a difficult, dangerous path getting this far. You know when a doctor comes in your ICU room and tells you, "You could drop dead at any moment" You're basically hanging on by a thread of faith. I chose not to believe the doctor that day, and now here I am together with my beautiful wife! I kept fighting to be where I am today... Things are better than they were back in those days in the ICU, I do not take them for granted.
Hopefully this helps clear some things up in terms of my appearance and sickness I've fought with for years. Thank you all for taking the time to come and watch!
If you are interested in donating to help fight against Scleroderma or find more information on the disease, please see @SclerodermaUS There are many others out there fighting for a chance to live life, I hope this helps!

I can't help but notice Devine's energy in the beginning of the video when explaining his medical condition and the effects.
Girllll I can hear the Protector in your voice.
You've BEEN over people coming for your man about this and was READY to set everybody straight.
You're a phenomenal woman.

Facts
I know, right? I love it.
I just want to admit that when I first saw a video of these two, I had some of those unwarranted, harsh judgments. This video has made me realize that the only thing "wrong" with this situation was ME letting myself jump to conclusions and believe things I knew nothing about. I chose to comment about this because I believe one of the most important qualities people can have (and what the world needs more of) is the ability to recognize when we make mistakes, learn from them, and do better moving forward. Spread love. And these two people very clearly love each other. Thanks for posting this video, you're an inspiration.
Same.

Well said!
That's huge that you can acknowledge and move forward from the instinct to judge without knowing. I know a lot of people are guilty of that, and it's important to note that your first instinct is what society has taught you, your second one is what is more true to you and who you want to be. Society is filled with rash judgments and harsh critiques when we don't know any better, and it's a powerful thing inside yourself when you decide to move away from that and to share love instead of hate :)
Yes we need More of this
this really raises awareness about the rare illnesses people have and to not Judge people only by their looks.
They've been together for like 10 years. Leave them alone. They love each other.
I have never felt more confident in two people being soulmates than I am right now. I love you guys!
🙌
Yup even I feel the same
Lol
You are DELUSIONAL 🤣🤣
Yessss you can see in there eyes just how much they love each other! Love them ❤
I love how protective and supportive she is!!
Omg hi Ana 💜🥹
I would like to know her life story as well. I've seen the food videos 😂
@@sheenabetts6537
What food videos?
A dear friend of mine lost her nearly 20 year battle with systemic scleroderma in 2020. You are so lucky to have found your doctor at a young age, at the time in history.
My prayers for your continued win over the big battle.
Ignore the haters, they aren’t with it.
Sorry about your friend ❤
*On the plus side, you'll never need Botox®*
People need to stop being judgemental. Scleroderma is no joke. You guys are blessed and taking the time to explain something that is absolutely nobody's business shows how special you both are.
I can tell she loves him by the way she’s learned so much about his health.
by the way she looks, like LOOKS at him
Yesss❤❤❤❤
Iono. Criminals also learn a lot about their victims. Doesn’t mean they love their victim
@@jpichet6999exactly. People have no idea what phillipino women are about. They will marry literally anyone just to get that visa. They do it for their whole family then send money back to the phillipines. They ALL do it
Yes, I don't understand why everyone thinks she doesn't if she was in it for the green card or whatever she's married to an American now, so she got what she wanted would have asked for a divorce long ago and went for another guy with money but she's still with him because she loves him not everything shallow he has a personality doesn't he? The personality is what people fall in love with
I love how much she knows about his disorder. She admits in the end she didn’t understand it at first but all throughout the video she’s interjecting to add more information. That’s a wife who cares. Love this couple
Hi Stay I love your pfp💗💗
*Disease/condition... "disorder" implies that the cause of symptoms isn't known (if I remember correctly). But yes, she seems sweet and caring... something very rare in the western world these days, that's why so many men are traveling to Asian countries to find wives lately lol.

I'm so very sorry. I was guilty of judging and criticizing your looks when I first saw your videos. Now, a week later, all I can see is your beauty, strength, and purity of heart and soul. And I love watching how you love each other. I am a fan. ❤
Ratio
you're a unique person for being able to admit you judged him in the beginning. I wanted to just commend you because your transparency influences others to be real and genuine! I wasn't even going to comment at all, but you inspired me to admit that I also had a nasty automatic bias when I first saw their videos tonight. I know better, so I dove deeper into their channel and learned about an entire disease I never heard of! we can only grow if we keep learning and taking the time to educate ourselves.
@@devonkelly44 so because he has a disease it’s okay he looks like that? And you approve. But if he didn’t and he just looked like that, you’d be appalled? That’s just the way it’s coming off from your comment.
@@glo_Mac What was your first thought when you saw him?
@@glo_Mac that’s a different take lol. I’d guess that it wouldn’t matter if he had a disease or disorder or not- he looks the way he looks, just as you look the way you look, and I look the way I look. Most humans have an instinct to judge what we see. It is part anthropological and part societal. We assess/judge what we see in order to identify danger, and we assess/judge based on the influence of the society around us- whether we know it or not.
I think the more important point here is that the original commenter was self-aware enough to point out her initial instinctual judgement, but then realized she disagreed with that judgement and redirected herself to gather more context / information about what she was seeing, versus just accepting her initial judgement and scrolling on.
Self-awareness of our perceptions and behaviors is crucial to personal growth. Redirecting a negative learned behavior (instead of simply accepting and ignoring it) is a major step in personal growth - for anyone.
It is a step forward. It is progress. It is kindness and respect - things that may not be “required” in life, but are worthy progressions nonetheless, which ultimately lead to a healthier individual and society as a whole.
She clearly loves you man. That's all that matters.
THIS
For real man, the way she looks at him you just know that she is totally in love. Really happy for them!!
Yeah, health would probably be nice too though..
@@WanderBus If the focus is always on what you lack instead of what you already have, you'll never be happy.
Not only have I been educated on a medical diagnosis I didn’t know much of anything about, I’ve been introduced to an incredibly successful union. Really enjoyed both!
No, this is not boring. Thank you for making this video. I'm seeing Scott in a different light now because I have a better understanding of his physical condition. Please stay healthy, Scott. You're awesome!
Hello everyone! Thank you for watching our video, and I appreciate all the responses so far! I hope people will take a moment to understand the disease, as many of us our struggling with it. I'll be going through and responding to comments, appreciate you all! 😊
I also have a disease and I had a period of self-doubt in myself as to why this beautiful girl from the Philippines was in love with me because my brain was giving in to the haters on social media and in my family who were trying to divide us. So, Divine and you were actually encouraging to me and seeing you on TV, or wherever I first saw the two of you, helped me leave my negative thoughts behind and tell everyone telling me she was in it for the money and the green card to go stand on someone else's...rooster. So know that you are creating some positivity out here by sharing your love each other. We know, as Americans, we have a horrible knack for stereotyping others, especially things outside the cultural norms. You are more than a disease and kabayan Divine sees that, and Divine is more than just a beautiful lady. Evidently, she is creative, intelligent, and funny, and those are some of the reasons that you love her. As your wife, only her opinion matters, and I now know enough Filipina in and out of love that I can see her how she looks at you. No one can tell me she isn't happy or loved and doesn't love you for you. You owe no one else an explanation, especially not to those who would rather tear you down and tear you apart out of envy and jealousy instead of lifting you up and creating community with you. Don't ever let them beat you down mentally and emotionally. I pray you stay in remission, but either way, make the most of your lives together. God bless, and Gugma Upat.
@@americanandpinayWe appreciate you taking the time to tell us your story as well! This is another example of why I love doing what we do. Correct, but this isn't just for me, it's for all those that suffer from Scleroderma and get made fun of for looking different. I hope people will take the time, for a moment or two, to educate themselves 🙂 Thank you so much for your support and helping us build our community! 😁

Just the few minutes that I heard him talk about his illness. I can see why you fell in love with him. His illness doesn’t define him. He’s a young guy who has every right to find love and to be happy.
Thank God that you found the right specialist to help . Blessings to you both.
As someone who takes 7 prescriptions a day for 3 different autoimmune diseases, I understand how you feel about the judgement. Mine are invisible so I face the misunderstanding when I can’t do something because I don’t look sick. I love your energy and I wish both of you the very best in life. Keep being happy and ignore, delete, and block the haters. ❤
As someone who is also seen as "ugly" due to physical conditions, you two are really inspiring. Sometimes I feel unlovable, but you guys give me hope. I'm sorry strangers on the Internet have made you feel like you need to explain yourself. I'm proud of you both for remaining positive despite it all and having the courage to open up about something that is undoubtedly difficult to talk about. I love you guys!
True beauty is not defined by outward appearances, never let anyone make you feel "ugly". I promise you that you are way more beautiful then any of them ppl could ever imagine. Self love before anything is a must otherwise ppl become bitter, don't mind the bitter few.
With all due respect.. are you sure you are viewed as "ugly".. or is that a core belief regarding how you assume you are viewed?
You will also find your soul mate. I have multiple rare diseases and understand how difficult it is for others to understand health concerns. You are not alone.

To be honest, I never looked at you as anything negative. I just saw you as a humorous person with a great attitude and dynamic in your marriage. Like she says, you’re both opposite of each other but also so compatible. Thank you for explaining everything and I truly am grateful that you have survived so much and continue to do so well and bring the world content that makes my day. So to you both, Thank you!

I love the way she looks at him!!! It's so sweet, she completely loves and supports him😍

That's so scary! I had cancer when I was 19. I have to say, it's good that it happened when I was younger. When we're young, those kinds of things are easier for us to deal with, because we don't fully understand the gravity of the situation. I imagine that being 13 when you were diagnosed, it was probably easier than it would be for you now - mentally, I mean. I hope that in years to come they can find a way to reverse the damage that the scleroderma has inflicted on your body. And I'm so glad to hear that you're in remission.
i love the way she looks at him so directly with such attention whenever she speaks instead of looking at the camera like so many couples do on YT. like she genuinely cares so much. My grandmother passed from scleroderma. She would equate it to slowly petrifying from inside out. And they are thinking that I’m showing traits now. It’s scary because I literally watched her go from lively to like a statue of her former self. Thanks for sharing your story!!
I hope you're doing okay ❤
If you are showing traits, you should get your blood tested to see if you have the "typical" markers. It's best to start early, than to wait until too much time has passed. I know it's scary since your grandmother passed away from the illness but if you can find out now, there are ways to slow the disease down. My husband has had it for about 20 years (diagnosed around 19-20 years old) and he's had his ups and downs but he's in overall "good" shape.
calcification does this, lower ur calcium and up ur magnesium intake (and dont take it alongside calcium) the magnesium will really help u with movement, pain and to help u sleep
Shivambhu Therapy found by googling the Dhamar Tantra in english will cure u and there are many support groups and it is free.
I really appreciate the immense courage it takes to share your story. You didn’t have to share personal health details and it’s so brave. Rooting for you two and hope you have a long happy healthy life together
Blessings to you both! Thank you for sharing 🥲🥲
I suffer with multiple sclerosis so i can appreciate how difficult your illness and relationship situation can be. I'm also fortunate enough to of met my filipina (future wife) and she is as understanding as devine seem to be about your illness . Bless you both for all that your dealing with.
I was uneducated about this disease, so I’m very grateful to now know more because of you guys. I always respected your relationship and I always saw true love between you guys. ❤
You definitely did not need to explain yourselves but I’m glad you did. People tend to hate the things they don’t understand (not all people but you know what I mean).
Knowledge is power :) all the best to you guys! Greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮👋🥰
I am so happy for you both! I hope you two live long happy lives together you both deserve it!
Thank you 🙏🏼 for sharing your story and I’m so glad you found each other. ❤❤
My brother has scleroderma. Thank you for spreading awareness about it. Big fan of both of you ❤
Y’all didn’t have to explain this but I appreciate your efforts of being informative to people who don’t know any better. Most ignorant bullies won’t watch this and they shouldn’t matter. As long as you love each other, take care of each other and have a great relationship, others shouldn’t matter. People will always assume and say something mean. Please don’t let the negativity of others affect you both. Many blessings to you! 🙏🏾
Thank you for being brave and sharing. I love you both so much... both are in my prayers
You both are going to make it. Bless you both. 😊
I love you guys so much 😭 Divine is so lucky to have Scott, and vice versa
Scott- you are PERFECT as you are! And Divine- I love you so much..."he needs more rice!" ❤️ You two just bring joy to my day...thank you for using your platform to stop stigma around your disease- but as I said before...you are perfect as you are. Continue to cherish each other as you do!!! 🥰
She’s so funny and cute for saying that in a nurturing way ❤
Scott you seem like such a genuine person and you are so funny! Thank you for having the courage to share your story with everyone.
Hugs to you man, so proud of you two! Love your positivity.
My aunt had scleroderma and was almost diagnosed too late. We recently lost her in a car accident which was especially difficult because she was doing so well. She'd been so healthy the past few years...to the point where It was easy to forget she was sick. That said I know how scary it can be, but it can get better. Having a partner that truly loves you and is there for you helps tremendously. I swear love heals..body and mind. Both of you are blessed to have such a beautiful relationship. Most people spend their whole lives searching for what you have and never find it.
You're an amazing couple. Love you both!❤
love certanly does heal #witness
sorry u lost her also
Thank you for educating us. I think you're very handsome and your wife is adorable. I can tell by the way she looks at you, she's totally in love! I love all your videos and have shared them with many of my friends. They all adore you two as well! ❤❤❤❤
She look to him and see a greencard.
@@next3576 not true. You obviously don't know their whole story. Stop it keyboard warrior. If you're miserable in your life, just say so.
@@next3576 you're miserable.
@@next3576yeah, this is NOT the video to be saying things like this on. There are plenty of other videos you can go and troll on. We will not tolerate any "keyboard warrioring" on this video 🙂
Of course! We just want to get our story out there and try to help those that don't understand, learn something. We always appreciate our fans that watch us and support us, no questions asked 😊❤️
My dad had scleroderma and lasted 13 years longer than the doctors thought. It’s definitely life changing disease. Thank you so much for bringing more awareness to this! I pray you live life to the fullest and continue to bring happiness to your YT family!
The massive respect I have for you both ! Thank you for educating us all and we enjoy your content ,your so blessed
You’re a beautiful couple. Glad the universe brought you two together. ❤From North Carolina.
Wow i had no idea he had any of these problems he just seems like an normal person to me.
@@chadwallace777People now a days are very quick to judge because the internet gives them that power. Though you really never know what that person is going through unless you take the time to ask and learn 😊
Yess love from NC here too !
Scott you're honestly amazing. I cannot believe what you've had to go through and how you felt. It makes me so happy to see you thrive and turn the negative responses to your videos into an opportunity to help your channel grow lol. And Divine you're an amazing support system. You are so attentive to Scott and his condition. You two are so adorable together, sending you lots of love from across the world
I saw some of your shorts with the time and, despite the medical condition , I saw a very nice guy, such a positive vibe and I so pleasant to see you guys.
A new subscriber🤗
Wow thank you for sharing your story and raising awareness! I learned a lot so thank you
You’ve been through a lot Scott, you are strong in the most sacred and valuable ways. It’s beautiful you found your person.
What a beautiful woman to have by your side, which some people never find. I hope I can find an angel like her one day.
Thank you for sharing! You guys are amazing! Best wishes for a long, healthy life together! Blessings!❤
I appreciate how difficult it is for you to share your private medical condition. I really enjoy watching the videos that you put up for us. I hope that the two of you stay happy and healthy and strong.
This is soooo sad, that he had to explain why “he looks this way” because of comments 😔 But at the end of the day, thank you so much for explaining all his health issues to us. It’s greatly appreciated 💕You two are the most down to earth, lovely couple ever!
Thanks for being open and raising awareness about this disease. You two seem like a lovely couple.
Well, the 2 of them answered all the questions that I had been asking.Thank you guys I appreciate that
Keep fighting my man! I hope you both are blessed with great health moving forward.
Thank you for having the courage to share your life story. It makes a lot more sense now.
It's not boring at all.. I appreciate you both taking the time to explain. It is MINDBLOWING to me that people could show Scott any hate with everything he goes through silently.. while still doing his best to make the world smile and laugh. I know a fair bit about Prednisone.. and it's such a catch-22 of a medication. I know the damage it does. Scott, I'm sure you wouldn't be on it if there was another option.. but if your Specialist ever recommends a safer alternate medication... that would be so awesome. 🙏
I love you guys so much. I know it couldn't be easy for you.. and the hate must really get you down and confuse you at times. Please know that you are loved, admired and respected by so many.. all over the world. And Scott.. I get it.. just because you are in remission.. doesn't mean that you aren't suffering. And they are extremely strong medications. And the tight skin would have to be painful.. on top of the constant stares.. because people are intrigued by people who look slightly different. You are a very handsome man.. with a real light within you.. and the MOST beautiful woman on your arm. I daresay some of those stares are jealous stares. 😅 Thanks for doing this video. I think we as your supporters.. need to do our part too. We are now informed.. and can respond by educating people. And maybe that's actually a really important thing. Much love from Australia x 💚
🙌🏼 well said!

Thank you for sharing your story with us. We appreciate you for using your platform to educate us on Scleroderma versus feeding the negative comments. You are extremely brave and strong. I’m praying for your healing and continued strength ❤ 🙏🏾
Just ran across your videos. You two are a great couple, keep on loving each other! Wish you all the best!
