  • Deanna doing some initial falconry training with her new little female American Kestrel -- Piper. She's coming along very nicely... Piper, that is.

As one who raised an orphan American kestrel from a chick, that after 1 1/2 years gradually and naturally learned to hunt for himself and reverted back to the wild, these birds are having their lifespans extended by the safer and better treatment they receive in captivity. Captive hawks and falcons live three times as long as the ones in the wild.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Kestrels are obviously smarter than people, and way ahead.

Nice video .. I must have been a falconer in a past life .. the falcon videos keep me the edge of my chair .. I’ve researched this .. but I have to opt out at this time, as everyday demands on me would not allow me to properly care for and fly the bird .. nice touch with the Van Morrison song.

Nice training flight!👍🦅. Thanks for posting, from a Fellow Falconer, from USA!🦅🇺🇸 106.5 grams is light for a Female. In the Midwest, Kestrels are slightly heavier. Some as large as 150 grams trap weight. What is your perspective on how to reduce weight on a Micro-Falcon, without compromising it's condition and overall health? Any positive feedback, would be greatly appreciated. 👍
    Happy Hawking!🦅🦉👋

I was laughing when your bird was ignoring you and picking at the empty lure. Happens so often... My kestrel will completely clean his plate except for whatever he has grasped in his foot - he then seems to forget that he has to open his foot to get the last nibble out of there and winds up getting in an argument with his own toes...

Muy buen vídeo, me gustaría recibir de parte tuya algunos concejos para adiestrar a "Cumbia" mi hembra de cernícalo yankee.

why does everyone seem to think they need music? Has nothing to do with falconry.
