How come in your other AAD tenant the account was a member account and not guest?
I changed from guest to member.

How does inbound settings work on external groups? I don't beleive you can invite external group, only individual accounts can be invited as guests. So what is the point of "external users and group" setting for inbound?
Docs are really good and go through all the details. Remember this is not about invites. It's about authentication so it can see the group IDs in the claim from the account tenant and only authenticate if the specific group is present in the token.
What if MFA is required, MFA trust is enabled but the guest has no MFA registered yet in his home tenant. Will he start MFA onboarding in his home tenant, your tenant, or fail miserably ?
Will make them setup on the home (account) tenant
