I think the kid in the boat is nothing but a little bully and should be charged for drunk, driving a boat and more charges. He’s nothing but a little brat that his parents never taught him to say no to him.

I'm guilty of watching these police videos frequently, so I'm hardly one to pass judgment, but when it is established at the outset by a family member that someone is bi-polar and suffering from a psychotic break, their behavior has nothing to do with being "spoiled", "never being told no", or being "rich".

@@lwinkfeinmaybe i need to watch it again, but what crkme did she do but walk around in her underwear in her neighbor’s yard? when someone isn’t in their right mind, they’re not always able to be rational. i’ve been in psychosis many Xs, & TG the one time i found myself across the country without a phone in a hotel for a week, when the cops were called, they only 1050ed me. although, i was extremely calm & polite & made it through many airports okay. but i still have empathy for those that lose their 💩. i’m not bipolar, but have lost it & went into psychosis a few Xs from stress & depression. i didn’t lose it bc i didn’t take my meds..i don’t have any to take bc i seriously don’t think i’m bipolar. i’ve been diagnosed as other things, tho. ptsd, anxiety, adhd. but i refuse to take any medication for any of it, except for my medical mj, which has helped a lot the past few years.

Unfortunately in Ireland most of the psychiatric hospitals have been closed so there is really nowhere to go. We are failing them here.

The police can ask for the Baker Act or 5150 hold so that she can be evaluated. These holds can be extended if necessary.
The court can order it as well.

the second case the mom literally explained she has bipolar 1 and is in manic psychosis. psychosis meaning that she is having delusions, hallucinations and is not in her right mind -- she's not being a brat, she's not aware of what reality is in the moment this was filmed.
my mom has bipolar with psychosis, and it was heartbreaking and terrifying, when they go into psychosis it's like they're walking in a waking dream and don't see and hear the same reality we do. not really helpful for the stigma against mental health for you to chalk up her behavior to her being selfish and immature when it's a mental illness, and the ONLY mental illness that the US legally considers to be "not guilty due to reason of insanity" so instead of starting with saying she's a brat, you should start with.....the truth lol

These cases shouldn't be under the Karen bracket, but are still helpful for others to understand if it was under the correct banner of educational. Saying that, I dont doubt that the average person would chalk up this behaviour to drugs.

That's what happens with a culture that has no respect for the law or LEOs. Kids are being taught that "all cops are bad" so they feel like they can disrespect and disobey any police officer that they come in to contact with. And with all of the negative media coverage, edited footage on social media, and entire police departments being sued, cops not only have to take this treatment, they can't do their jobs to the best of their abilities. They are constantly walking on eggshells in every single situation, and can't really do anything to exert their authority or control the criminals in their custody. Corrupt police officers do exist and are a serious problem, but by treating every single cop as if they were corrupt, we've taken most of the power away from the people that we depend on to protect our communities and enforce the laws of our society.
