I came to see why this man is sniffing markers and learned something about transformers.

A transformer ratio of 200:10K gives a lot more gain than 5 or 6 dB!
In fact the ratio is ca. 1:7, this means 17 dB gain. (Unloaded)

Radio metal is metal they screen I.F coils in a transistor radio, cheap way screening your signal transformers
