Stihl 090 at 137 cc is the biggest one man saw ever built by stihl. It was replaced by the 084, then the 088, then the 880, all at 121.7 cc.

my old 088 actually idled and had a lil "torque bounce" on driveways that i was worried would crack the Piston valve it would thump so hard.....i miss that saw man!

Hey Lee back in the early 1980s I used to work on a logging crew down Manjimup and we had Stihl 090s they were a beast I loved using them. Looking forward to winter love getting wood for the outside fire the bush tv and a few beers 🤓👍

Great vid mate . Out of curiosity (I am from the East Coast), how do you West Coast fellas go about getting access to timber like this on public land? On the East, we have to pay for permits and have pretty limited places to go collect on public land. Can only take 2-3 tonne load depending on price we pay. Not much decent like these lovely jarrahs. Do you have permits and load limits?

I think the 404 and 3/8 use the same file size a 7/32 or 5.5mm , just brought a neotec 105cc 070 heading in the bush very soon

Totally different saws for completely different jobs. The 088 is 50 % bigger
Alaskan jig and ya can start cutting slabs mate,couple 6ft n 5 ft bars 100 m roll of chain and your off,hard bloody work but👍👍
