    Love these Coast to Coast videos. Really gives a great sense of what you can expect from an EV on those more extreme journeys. Would love to see more of them please.

    Great video as an Ec4 owner myself it’s great to see other driver long drive and that it can be done. Without too much range anxiety. :)

    I would love to see a Malin head to Mizen head range test as that is probably the longest possible drive in Ireland. 600km’s on west coast or 660km’s via Dublin. West coast in particular would be interesting to see what charging infrastructure is available en route. Love the channel & keep up the good work Derek.

      Thanks Bryan, sounds like a good idea. My Belmullet to Dun Laoghaire serves a purpose of visiting my parents too but I'd definitely like to to a Malin to Mizen too

      @@NevoEVReviewIreland Hello! 😃
      I choose the model "Feel". So I relinquished things like the head-up display. I ordered the "cold"-package with heated steering wheel, front chairs and front window, the proximity keyless system (super cool) and the backsight-camera. The colour is white (black door handles).
      Delivery will be in february.
      I hope, that I can backfit the car with the cordless charging for smartphones. It is not in the pack.
      And I want to change the rear turnlights, brake lights and reversing light into LED.
      That is a point, I can't understand: Why did they choose mostly normal lightbulbs at the back of the car? It is ridicolous for an EV of the year 2021.

      Yes I’ve seen other reviews claim that the range increases by around 20-25 percent just by changing the mode!

  • @salipander6570

    Little information. How much kWh did you use and what was the power consumption, for example? I'm sure every current EV can do this trip if you recharge!

      Absolutely agree. More information in futures videos I promise. All EVs can do all journeys, just length and number of charges required.

    Just wondering if you did the test in eco mode? I saw another review where the car was retested in eco mode after a test in normal mode and for some reason the range in eco was considerably higher, some 30 miles more I think.

    Would be good to know if you used e mode...? other videos online suggest e-C4 distance increases a lot. Would also be good if you were to prepare a summary at the end of these videos with your opinion on the Range available, otherwise we're just accompanying you on a dull drive ...?

    What speed were you travelling at? I'm interested in buying an ec4. If you drive under 60mph can you achieve 150/160 mile range with it?

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  Před 2 lety

      Around 100kmph and yes, at the speed you quoted you should easily get the range you need. Can you arrange a longer test-drive from a dealer?

  • @Kilmoveebee
    @Kilmoveebee Před 2 lety +1

    when you started from Belmullet you had 348k when you fueled up you had 16 left after fueling you had 236 and when you got to Dun Laoghaire you had 142k left how does that work out on consumption.? Finally Will you be dong a coast to coast in the Kona?

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  Před 2 lety +1

      Sorry Robert. My earlier coast to coasts are not the most detailed. Moving forward I'm going to only report what the car tells me via the trip computer etc so Joe Public can figure it out instead of having to use a calculator. Have a look at the Mustang Mach-E Coast to Coast as an example

    Not a great advertisement for the Citroen or Ireland's charging network. I think you glossed over that you couldn't charge in Longford. And arrived in Enfield with just 22km battery left. You were lucky that the DC car left quickly. Squeaky bum time! You've mentioned in over reviews that certain manufacturers are 'honest' with their ranges (Hyundai?) - can the same be said for the Citroen/Stellantis cars? (Disclosure: I've a deposit on the MG5 long range).

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the comment Shane. For sure, the range estimation on the Stellantis unit isnt great I knew in real world range test it's around 260km. I've mentioned before in my reviews of the e208, e2008, Opel e and Mokka e. The charging network dies need work but it's slowly happening. The Longford charger was already in use and there was another car waiting. I actually arrived with only 18km left as me mentioned in the film but started charging, it was already up to 22km! I've no real answer re honest range figures. They all use WLTP to rate the ranges. I've a video explaining that here. czcams.com/video/ISHSZR-MCSM/video.html.
      Good luck with the long range MG5. That will definitely do coast to coast without charging!

    On motor way driving across country can you do an average 120 km without changing

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the question Paddy. No changing gears required 😉 I think you mean charging. Depends on the distance you're travelling and the size of the battery on your EV. 120km/h will reduce your range like a combustion engine but if your battery is big enough there's nothing to worry about.
