Number 1 tip for you: the combo isn't finished with your last punch, it finishes with evasive or defensive movement - every time. Never just stand there after you throw your last shot.
@@Itzjackplays and also set up your punches, use footwork, and protect your head via tucking head in neck and protecting by using shoulder when punching, and make sure to no throw any telegraphing punches, and dont drop your arm, set into your punches by weight transfer, and bend them knees and stand on toes not flat feet only flat feet when throwing power punches inside the defense line
Don't forget to work on defense. 20 years boxing experience here-- I notice it time and time again with self taught boxers that they only have the resources to box on the offense and lack basic defensive skills, so when they're challenged to fight backwards, they have no answer for when their offense is being countered intelligently by an experienced opponent.
Exactly , he is always wide open after a combo and even while performing a combo , he can be caught with a basic counter. Also , his rolls are sloppy and he didnt perform even 1 slip or shoulder roll. But whatever , he got decent offense (puts lesser legs and hips into punches tho)
For somebody who self taught themselves to box I am very impressed. However there are some cracks within, for example when you throw a combo you stop and stay still after you’re last shot, if you feel as if you have stopped the combo read your opponent and get onto the defence to calculate your next shot. Also at times you can leave your self open but a lot of us do this unintentionally when we T off. You can go far man this is also what I want to do

Shoulders up chin down. Non punching hand glued to the brow. The easiest way to get knocked out is in the middle of shot. Defense is important not only when not punching but when punching aswel.
That’s amazing improvement. You should work on changing angles and improve a bit on footwork when it comes to being on your toes and even being flat footed. You’ve got good fluidity with your punches and it looks like it’s easy for you.
Big Difference :) I've only had my equipment for about 3 months but I've been shadow boxing for a year and a half🤣 You looked waay better than me when I started. Nice work🔥
Amazing progress brother1 Just a tip from a 3 year amateur boxer here to develop the pull back on your jabs, especially the double jabs. Can't wait to see the future!
Great job! Love to see the improvements Try to keep your elbows facing down as much as you can on your jab, it'll make it less telegraphed, and will have better body mechanics. You're winging it up to the side from what i can see. A drill you can do is to throw jabs next to a wall so that it blocks your elbow if you raise it to the side. You can also do this drill for your right straights For realistic combos: Before every combo, perform feinting and moving in, or blocking. Preferably blocking, it'll make it more realistic and you will train more defence. Give your opponent a couple of combos to throw at you ( jab - cross - left hook / jab - left hook / etc) and practice defending and countering at any point in the combo (take in consideration how you will attack while defending their next attack in the combo). block and fire back End each combo by disengaging with footwork, head-movement and/or blocking Between each combo you throw, feint, move in n out, move laterally, give different looks Also, don't forget to practice throwing a combo while going backwards. Some people are great when they're moving forwards and are lost if you make them move backwards. step back, step back, angle to the side. Become a beast
Crazy work man, my tip as a two time nationalist, is to make sure you work that defense. I find a lot of these self-taught boxers tend to skip over the basics, keep those elbows tucked and those gloves at that chin.
It is easy to notice how your space limit your movement development. Bring the bag outside or in center of the room. I always know when your left hook is coming and I guess it is because you more often repeat movements that are possible in that space.
Solid improvement, amigo. If you could get something like a reflex ball, it'd do a world of good for building head movement habits, I'd think. Something coming back at ya after a combination.
Great work bro, for being self taught you've done a great job. However I would still suggest going to a boxing gym (obviously) so that you have experts around you that can help you and make you better. Also if you don't implement sparring in boxing you will not be good, it doesn't matter how good you look on the heavy bag or when shadow boxing. But keep it up 💪
I see some great comments and tips for you below.. There are so many nuisances to the sweet science you will learn as time goes by, the next level changes will take learning or practice that requires patience, energy, and time. What you put into it. You are getting the punches down pretty good.. And when you have more space, at lease 12x12, you can go to the next level.. adding defensive and offensive footwork movement.. keep moving up.. good luck...
Honestly it is best to go to a boxing gym but if you can't then make sure to have a partner to train with to hit the mitts or just to light spar with. Just hitting the bags is never going to cut it out.
Yo bro your left hooks and uppercuts are crazy for being self taught. Im the same way but a lefty southpaw. you have good snap in your power. You need to be lighter on your feet and need better conditioning. Other than that you're looking good. Prioritize this list. 1 being most important 1) Footwork 2) conditioning 3) defense 4) technique 5) Power 6) Speed
@@way2flexxx Speed is more of a genetics things. You either have it or you dont. You shouldn't prioritize speed more than power because Timing can beat speed. If you have good timing and power, you dont need speed. Plus this kid already has speed in him. He doesn't need to work on it.
I mean as long as you have been training good technique for a good amount of time then it really isn’t important anymore. And I would say speed is more important than power.
not bad man! I would advise you try to move around a little more whilst hitting the bag, it's an easy thing to pick up, but can be detrimental if you're not used to it 😄
Excellent work. Just remember to also practice the often repeaed advice coaches like firas zahabi and mike tyson give, which is that you should always move away and out of range after throwing a shot, not giving them a chance to hit you back after you hit them.
Insane progress bro! Good job keep it up. I would suggest you to join a boxing gym tho to gain some experience with actual sparring and drills as its very important to get punched and feel what its like to fight someone. Keep it up!
Everyone out here giving you advice but can't help but tell you to make sure your shadowboxing after you hit the bag. Good way of making sure you don't throw yourself out of balance when you throw your combinations. Also make sure your moving laterally. You dont want to be moving only in a straight line. Get off the tracks and imagine your trying to beat your opponent to his side and get him to turn into your right hand or jab.
some constructive feedback. The water bag is for more advanced combinations. It is easier to hit and gives you more confidence. This isn't good for a fight situation because you're in punching range. You need to get the heavy bag set up much higher and just start with your jab. Just your jab on a round timer whilst moving your feet. This is the most realistic fight situation. You have good speed and your combinations could really work well behind a good jab. All the best.
I have been boxing for a few years, what I noticed is that it seems that you do not have instructions to guide you in what is right and wrong. Your progress is not bad, it is good but it could have been better
The way he is boxing is the way a beginner in their first month would be boxing at a real gym, plus he isn’t learning proper technique training at home with no one to teach him
-Keep head and chin down. In a fight, you want your forehead to take the blunt force beside anywhere else. Having the head up enables your opponent hit exactly where they want too. Forehead is hard enough to take the blows whiles eyes, noses, and jaw are the spots easier to hit. -Let your arm's extend more. Your a bit too close, measure your distance so your punches will have maximum output in terms of power and reach. I can already tell you have power, all you need to do is not let your jab, crosses be jam up when striking. -Bring them arm's back to your face as quick as possible. You tend to leave your punches hanging after finishing a combo, or putting out a strike. Due to this, your wide open for a more faster opponent to take advantage of this. Start with the jab and crosses first when it come's to this section, record yourself some more to take notes if your making improvement, and once you see it, start with the other's too; hooks, body shot, and uppercuts. These three are alot harder due to the angle and direction you'll be throwing, which is why, I'm recommending focusing on the jab and cross first. These two are vital in terms of starting a combo, or to keep yourself working. -"HEAD MOVEMENT! HEAD MOVEMENT!" Every time you finish a combo, whether it's 1,2,3, move afterword's, never stay on the same center line you did your combo. Move left or right, and don't repeat it too. Someone in the comment section mention this too, so i'm also mentioning too. -Hands by your eyebrow. Get comfortable having more of a high guard so you can shell and block your opponent's strikes. It also allows you to cover better for their hooks. Once you get deeper into boxing, you'll see and likely will experiment with different guarding style. But for the time being as a self taught person, keep it to a high guard, and close the arms as tight as you can. -Don't flare. Similar to bringing your strikes right back to your face, I noticed in particular when you jab, your elbow flares out. A more high level boxer would take note of it, and take advantage either hitting your liver, or the opening your chin. Once more, practice on reeling your strikes right back to your guard, or your elbows in particular right by your body. There are those boxers who would use to their advantage, but as mention for the time being, clear this little flaw when you can. -Don't lean forward. Occasionally, your cross, rear hook has you leaning too much. It leaves you wide open for a clean hook. Keep your body steady, balance, and straight when throwing either of those strikes or anything else. Heck, if you feel yourself leaning too forward, "Lean back. Lean back." Compare to when you first started out, there's been a jump in improvement. Fast punches, power, and even little fundamental's I noticed you got down. Keep going if this is something you love doing. And when you can, make sure to find a gym nearby to really, really learn more. You can learn a lot by yourself, but you'll learn so much more from others. But I guess that's why your also sharing your training too :)
Make sure you don't flare your elbows with those jabs, go up against the wall and just throw your jab, make sure your elbow doesn't touch the wall at all, that should fix it
Weight room, cardio nd diet is also factors of boxing, not saying u dont do that but try to do those more often, train footwork too with resistance bands
compared to someone from at a boxing gym you would still be pretty mid but for one year of being self taught you learned a lot and I respect the discipline you did this for a year people usually quit In the first few months
Good work man But consider having a coach even online it will save you alot of time and a lot of bad habits you can avoid I agree you can learn anything by yourself but when having a mentor it is so much better especially with boxing
Certainly not the worst I’ve seen. Now imagine having training. You’d actually see much more difference in your skill level with some good corrections, and every bad habit you have been picking up is going to make it harder for you if you ever get proper training because instead of only learning correct technique you’ll have to also unlearn all the bad habits you have.
dude can crack for sure, his shots look fluid too. Especially for being self taught, you just need to learn to use your feet and tighten up your defense. Those things are kinda hard to teach yourself when you don't have a coach yellin at you about mistakes and guys slapping you up in sparring lol. If you train at a good boxing gym consistently for 3-4 months you'll get all that fixed up easy.
should set the bag up in the center of the room so you can shift angles and learn footwork. feet is more important than hands in boxing, its practically kickboxing but you kick the ground. thats why all boxers do at least 6-8hrs of roadwork a day, for lightwork feet movement and endurance to last all 10-12 rounds. also another thing is that feet provides more power since you use it to pivot but the best thing about it is breaking the opponents rhythm simply by shifting around them and make them rethink patterns cause you give them so much view to look at it, only a praying mantis would be able to handle that much stress since they can basically see 360 but humans cant especially when they’re upclose, its out of our sight like we got a major blindspot if you think about it. anyway for now just change the setup and move around the bag while doing combos, i gurantee you its more fun and better so you can actually dodge and evade because slips/rolls alone isnt gonna help you dodge everything. sometimes to get out of an endless combo, you simply need to shift angle so it stops their rhythm and give you a break or just counter back
@@Itzjackplays well fck the bag off then, go outside and do shadowboxing with weights or bands. i gurantee you this is the only training method you need but you need to imagine that your opponent is real otherwise you gain 0 sparring experience. this is the hardest thing to do but boxers with a good imagination usually have the best shadowbox and sparring in general. picture it and make it real, once you do that then you can picture your dreams and make that real too :))
Try improving your jab by watching some boxing trainer CZcams video's. Throw it straight and snap it right back in. And don't forget your defense. Your jab gives me a sloppy hook vibe. Then the hook; your arm should practically be horizontal and the elbow should have a 90 degree angle.. Also, try pivoting your hips more when throwing one for more power. All in all very impressed by your progress and very good for being self taught. Keep up the work!
tip from a amateur that has 4 fights after you throw your 2 straight back to your face dont drop it i got hit by my coach while hitting mits so many time cause i didnt bring it back to my face fast enough and after you do you 1 2 and stuff do a little head movement pivot you wanna see the bag as a real person
Nice improvement buddy, you might just want to add a bit more movement in between your punches, like footwork and all. Otherwise keep up the good work pal' congrats
No hate, but I'm questioning the self taught psrt. Your technique look like they were taught in the gyn. Very crisp, and you kept everything fight, no flaring elbows. Keep up the good work.
Looks great kid, but lead off of the jab; build the combos off the jab. You walk in throwing an uppercut and you're going to eat some punches, for sure
Keep your hands up when finishing those combos. You will get caught and sent to the shadow realm in a real match. Offense only comes with good defense.
Number 1 tip for you: the combo isn't finished with your last punch, it finishes with evasive or defensive movement - every time. Never just stand there after you throw your last shot.

Nice, keep up the grind
Thanks
Good work man
But consider having a coach even online it will save you alot of time and a lot of bad habits you can avoid
I agree you can learn anything by yourself but when having a mentor it is so much better especially with boxing
VR boxing has taught me to be a better boxer as well
Drop a video of u fighting someone with that improvement in boxing skills
Yeah ima spar someone soon
inspirationsl ngl keep it up
Thanks
Certainly not the worst I’ve seen. Now imagine having training. You’d actually see much more difference in your skill level with some good corrections, and every bad habit you have been picking up is going to make it harder for you if you ever get proper training because instead of only learning correct technique you’ll have to also unlearn all the bad habits you have.
bro u need a vr headset and thrill of the fight
keep it up bro your doing great
Thanks!
no problem bro just do what you like the most and you'll be fine
dude can crack for sure, his shots look fluid too. Especially for being self taught, you just need to learn to use your feet and tighten up your defense. Those things are kinda hard to teach yourself when you don't have a coach yellin at you about mistakes and guys slapping you up in sparring lol. If you train at a good boxing gym consistently for 3-4 months you'll get all that fixed up easy.
should set the bag up in the center of the room so you can shift angles and learn footwork. feet is more important than hands in boxing, its practically kickboxing but you kick the ground. thats why all boxers do at least 6-8hrs of roadwork a day, for lightwork feet movement and endurance to last all 10-12 rounds. also another thing is that feet provides more power since you use it to pivot but the best thing about it is breaking the opponents rhythm simply by shifting around them and make them rethink patterns cause you give them so much view to look at it, only a praying mantis would be able to handle that much stress since they can basically see 360 but humans cant especially when they’re upclose, its out of our sight like we got a major blindspot if you think about it. anyway for now just change the setup and move around the bag while doing combos, i gurantee you its more fun and better so you can actually dodge and evade because slips/rolls alone isnt gonna help you dodge everything. sometimes to get out of an endless combo, you simply need to shift angle so it stops their rhythm and give you a break or just counter back
I want to put the bag in the middle but I can’t because of the garage door
Getting snappy my boy! Congratz, that's a hell of an improvement!
Thanks!
