Not a fan of the GDI's or CVT's or Ecoboosts. A naturally aspirated turbo v6 with a manual wouldn't be too bad. :) Very disheartening to see this happen to Ford and GMC. Chrysler over two decades ago was it? Sad indeed. Thank you Scotty.

The trick i use to recharge my gas powered truck faster is setting the nozzle on the third notch. ⛽️👌
And it costs the exact same as on the first notch. Electric cars are stupid.

I am trying to understand how the robots on the assembly line know they are in Mexico. The Ford Mavericks on my videos are made there and they work great.

The question is why does Scotty not trust Mexican made Mavericks but Mexican made Tacomas are Ok in his book. So is the old man just rattling nonsense? If the Maverick were built in Michigan would they be more reliable? Doesn’t matter so much where the vehicle was made but how well it was designed and engineered. Also quality control procedures transcends borders if done correctly. This is how Toyota can build vehicles globally and have more or less uniform quality across the lineup.
The Government did the same thing with the cash for clunkers deal. All they did was reduce the supply or used cars and drove up the price. Did we do that?

I was shaking my head seeing how manny nice 4Runners got scrapped during that program. Lots of square body Chevy trucks too. They made those trucks more rare and now they are worth a fortune.
@@Nun195 My girlfriend in high school rolled a 2000 explorer one hand turning off the highway. Not even in a hurry, they were just that easy to roll. Oops, turned a little fast and rolled the car again!
Scotty, as a former officer that worked the road. We didn’t care what the car was until we clicked on it speeding!! Then we stopped it ,wrote a ticket!! So don’t say that we only looked out for those cars. Honestly we don’t have time to care on what it was, it was just speeding. If you want the truth, more women speed then men on my experience. I wrote women at almost twice the rate than men. Not because I cared who was driving or what they drove. They were just speeding.
Then my guess would be that some of those women thought they would be able to get out of a ticket by crying or flirting with the officer.
And I bet your buddies all speed but I'm willing to bet they didn't get a ticket....good old boys system
What I find amusing is police dont realize, or don't care, that they are common thieves writing most tickets. If you ever wrote one for anything under 10mph, used the Commercial Vehicle Code, or Uniform Commercial Code and the driver wasn't wearing a uniform or didn't have a logo on their car, you're a common thief for the government. Amusing how police don't know the difference between personal and commercial travel, or don't care.

I just got done changing all the fluids I could engine oil, diffs, radiator, transmission, brakes and power steering. It’s driving like a dream! Did it all on my own thanks to Scotty

I own a Maverick and have had no issues whatsoever. Put premium in the EB and you have no problems.

The only “problem” I’ve hear with the Maverick is getting your hands on one. Ford doesn’t make very manny because they would much rather sell an $80-100k truck which are sitting on lots unsold across the US right now.
@@mylesgray3470 that’s the biggest problem. I waited 14 months for mine and was a week away from giving up and buying a more expensive Frontier. The Maverick has more interior space and suits my needs more. As for the F-150s, they’re overpriced, oversized, and just bloated so much that they’re harder to park and generally drive anywhere in city limits.
The Maverick isnt old enough to say it gas no issues. Wait at least 5 years to say that

My elderly neighbors bought a brand new Maverick when they came out and less than 6 months later I saw them with an older Escape. I asked about the Maverick and they hated it. They said they could feel every bump in the road so I guess over time that wore on them.
The wet towel situation could turn into a final destination moment.
I strongly suspect the connectors are insulated well enough that nothing bad would happen. They have to be to keep rainwater from getting in at the very least.

Ford is selling every single maverick it makes. They are absolutely a great vehicle. Look at Scotty,s test drive video. He thought it was great to drive too.
Coworker of mine bought the hybrid way before release and got it in the first month. I thought for sure it’s going to be awful because of the price being so low but it was actually really good. I think it would outsell the F150 if Ford made as manny as the market demands because it serve the purpose most people need a truck for better. A huge percentage of F150 drivers never tow heavy and don’t haul heavy either.

I got a maverick in February 2023 I already have 50,000 miles on it and I average around 40 miles to the gallon sometimes mid 40s every trip as long as you don’t care what it looks like it’s been pretty good. Save me a lot of money.

The quality issues have nothing to do with the Hermosillo Assembly plant. That plant is Fords top assembly plant by all quality measures.
The quality issues derive from engineering and most especially mis-guided managerial cost cutting measures.
If that is Fords best plant I'd hate to see their worst!

I think smaller cars just look like they are going faster. Re: the wet towel, I would be afraid that it's cooling/fooling the sensor, but other parts are still hot and might burn out if the voltage isn't regulated properly.
I wish that was the case...out here they are still sellling well enough the dealers are still charging a $15K markup...

I would be willing to bet that of those top ten most ticketed car brands, they all point to a singular vehicle.
VW Golf. Subaru Impreza WRX. Honda Civics. Mazda MX-5. You get the idea. BMW and Audi, all of their vehicles are snob cars, but wouldn't be surprised if there was a distinguishable list of M-series and for BMW and the Q-series for Audi.

I only know 1 person that owns a BMW. The first time I was in their car, I noticed they weren't using their turn signals at all and I just started laughing.

Working for a service company our fleet vehicles are mostly ford maverick and Chevy Colorado the mavericks have had stupid issues with noise, brakes, and suspension, the chevys we’ve already had two turbos go bad at around 1500 miles the Chevy is much nicer to drive and feels more like a truck since it’s a body on frame vehicle the damn maverick drives like a car and is very comfortable long story short all these new cars have problems our old Toyota Tacomas 4cyl have been running strong with no issues but our guys hate them they are super slow and since there base models come with no creature comforts unfortunately the new ones are way to expensive which is why we switched back to ford and Chevy

I just put 8,000 miles on my 04 Buick LeSabre, in the last 2 months, only burned maybe 1/2 quart. Should I change it now? I switched over to synthetic oil last oil change.

The fully synthetic oil will cut so much sludge you need to change the oil and filter at 5000 miles. probably 4 x all that worn metal dust , is stuck in that sludge....

Hey…..What happened to German engineering ? I love my 2008 Jetta 2.5 5 speed 207k…along with my 2001 V6 Passat GLX 95K…How that lady made any money selling that truck back to a dealer is crazy!
Uber operated at a deficit for years with the intention of gaining a bigger part of the market until the could but self operating vehicles. This was and has been the plan and is the rational of operating at a loss to eventually get paid.
I thought I just watched a Scotty video where he couldn't find anything wrong with the Maverick. 'Nice paint' 'Drives nice' 'Good get up and go'.
Also, Scotty, you probably know the supply to all those DC Fast Chargers is 480 volts 3-phase. So, I agree it would very risky to put a wet towel on the connector, even though the charger and the vehicle "handshakes" before the electrical connection starts.
2 months ago I received a quote from Ford...$1k down for $1k month on a 3yr lease for a 2024 Ford Maverick which was valued at $31k....I quickly declined and than I went and least another car....
I drive one of those Mavericks for work for delivery and check engine light came on at 15.000 miles saying it's the catalytic converter at 15.000 miles wow junk

Ford is crazy with the prices they have. I bought a truck from ford September 2007, brand new. 17 years over 310,000 miles. I just fix what breaks but I won’t give ford 60 thousand dollars for a piece of aluminum with for tires.

I also ordered 2 Mavericks in 2023. I sold the XL hybrid for $7500 more to CarMax. Then I used that money towards paying off my Lariat, which I paid off in 3 months. I love having no car payments. I also loved using my FordPass points to get a discount on a 100,000 mile/ 6 year extended warranty from Flood Ford. It was totally worth the effort to flip. I work remote, so mine is low miles, garaged, and has frequent maintenance. The Ford Maverick is my first truck and we are a 2 vehicle family. I enjoy the utility of a small truck.
So it was not such a hassle to buy one and sell one contrary to what Scotty said. Good for you lowering your overall cost to what others pay for a base XL version. I also bought 2 Mavericks I show in my videos but liked them so much that I decided to keep them and sell my other vehicles instead.

@@ForbinColossus At the time it was a supply and demand issue. Ford under priced the Maverick initially and they didn’t build enough. The Maverick XL hybrid was in high demand because of 38 mpg.

I went to a ford dealership in 2022 to buy a Ford Maverick. MSRP was $28,000…+ $12,400 market rate pricing. FU Ford. Went across the street and bought a 2022 RAV4.

The people who care about speeding tickets are the people that don’t pay attention when driving, take forever to catch up and put down gas to catch the vehicles infront of them and stop at yellow lights and cruise on the passing lane at 65. Aka people who have zero consideration for others and their time. At least speeders pay attention, know how to drive and don’t waste others time
What???? This is the most brain rotted comment I’ve ever seen. To get a speeding ticket you’re going significantly faster than everyone else, increasing the risk of a wreck. Constant lane changes lead to accidents because other people aren’t expecting a speeding car flying into the lane they’re getting into. Speeders use whatever lane to pass and aggressively tail every car until they get an opening, again decreasing reaction time and risking an accident with a driver not looking out for them. Your speed should stay within the flow of traffic, it shouldn’t be ever increasing, never reaching a point to where you can maintain a speed. That’s how young girls drive. They’re either accelerating or stopping because they don’t understand how to use the pedal to maintain speed. Normal drivers keep up with traffic but they’re not racing ahead for no reason. They use the left lane for passing slow cars and don’t run red lights.

My BMW I3 is indeed fast, almost as fast as my Porsche 928S, but I'm not a lawless driver so I've gotten no citations in decades. 3:13 The I3 has needed practically no service in 107,000 miles and consistently costs about one-forth as much to fuel as my old Ford Ranger, so I can only conclude Scotty is frightened by ghosts conjured up at the API.

I own a Scion and they do handle well at speed. But also, a lot were painted in bright colors which attract attention.
How are Scions getting lots of tickets when there are very few on the road and Toyota discontinued the badge?
It has nothing to do with the makes of the cars on that list really...it's the kind of people that typically drive them. Inattentive dummies. I speed all the time, but prudently, and I'm constantly looking for cops. Last 2 times I was pulled over for speed were in 2012 and 2004, no ticket either time.
