Dusty Hill, gone WAY too soon. Incredible bassist and vocalist. Heaven just got a shit ton cooler.
Way to soon,cmon?!?!?.. i love ZZ and respect Dusty, but 72y old. Many can wish for life so long.
@@goodsamaritan0437 Yeah, life expectancy is diminishing. At the time I just wasn't ready to hear the sad news. It's not like losing Hendrix, Morrison, Joplin and Cobain at 27...hmmm, opposite. Heck, Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran died in their early 20's from shitty fate.
I didn't sleep right for weeks after a John Lennon was murdered.
So sure, put in perspective, it's not as tragic. I'm just feeling old, seeing my heros leave this mortal coil.
he was 72! - he had a good run - im not making light of his death - he was one of my idols too
way to soon but way to go
R.I.P. Dust Hill. A true legend in blues rock.
RIP Dusty. What a legend.
At 1:58 my man Billy just pulls himself over the podium by his own beard while playing a solo... Fucking Legend!
Not only playing a solo but playing a slide solo …FUCKING LEGEND UNDOUBTEDLY 🙌🏼
R&R Heaven just got a little Dusty! RIP
R. I. P. Dusty..... Can't believe it! 😭
This is so bitchin’! It’s that intermediate time after the Top had perfected their simplistic coolness that their first six albums had built up to, but before they had gone mainstream with the synthesizer era. Don’t get me wrong, Eliminator, Afterburner and Recycler all had some bad-ass tracks, but throughout ZZ Top’s first decade their songs all shared a laid-back, down and dirty approach that this particular performance captures perfectly.
What a voice. God damn son.
I moved from Germany to the United states in 1974 ZZ TOPP WAS MY 1ST ROCK CONCERT AND I HAD NEVER HEARD ZZ TOPP BEFORE!!
Dusty’s voice at 1:33 is insane. Never heard a man cry like that. Absolutely insane.
My thoughts too!! His voice was so powerful. Wow. He really had an amazing voice
Hm, wtf... this video should have billions of views
this is some dirty texas blues son
Rip dusty, another legend gone 😢
Rip dusty hill from Australia.
These guys have ALWAYS been the real deal.
always
What he said...
Lance Chatagnier And they maintained that shit, talk about perseverence.. Love them to death
FISH ON = DEAD ON
What a band. But live, Dusty's baselines sound incredible. Live, they sound like a 10 peace band. What an energy and they are over 65.
Right it's like SRV band double trouble...a very oiled rock machine
Yeah, it's like having a mack truck roar in your face, when he plays live. Even if you're sitting up in the boonies.
Not at that time in 1980
De was like 42 on dat consert
Can't believe what a badass singer the bass player is.
Thank you Dusty
RIP Dusty! The ZZTop concerts I attended were all so much fun. Rest In Peace.
Descanse em Paz Dusty Hill. Você foi grande! Sentiremos sua falta...
Lord have mercy how this trio could rock...Rest In Piece Dusty🍻
Sd to hear about Dusty Hill passing first concert I ever went to ZZ top....the opening act was Joan Jett and the black hearts that was show
Leave it to Europe to capture one of the best ever blues rock performances in history. Thank the heavens they did. Amazing. What these three guys pulled off absolutely mind-boggling. Don't even try to compare much else to this level of intensity. Dusty and Billy - holy crap what a team, with the solid Frank grooving and holding it down. This is what they mean by a band being tight.
Rest In Peace Dusty Hill you were a legend🙏🏻
KILLA KILLA KILLA PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE 🙌🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love that Billy is so hyped. @2:20 , one more time boys, come on
I've never seen Billy jump around like this
i'm pushing 40 and never realized Dusty sang Tush. What have i been doing with my life?!
Saw them in 83, at the Garden, in NYC. They literally blow the roof off the place. Never seen so many biker type guys dancing around and having nothing but a good 'ol time.
I went to the show by myself. My buddy cancelled last minute kinda. Gave the extra ticket to some kid outside the venue, who actually came to the seat in mid show, LOL.
Bon Jovi opened up after just winning a local radio contest. He sucked and if I'm not mistaken, the bass player was arrested when he walked off stage for having a loaded gun with his stupid cowboy outfit he was wearing.
ZZ Top played everything you wanted to hear and then scared the fuck out of everyone by dropping to dummies and a few fake lights on to the stage at the end to make it seem like there was an accident. Shit, everyone thought it was real until Billy and Dusty ran back out and started kicking the dummies, LOLOL. A true rock and roll swindle. Have mercy.
Awesome! What power. Great vocals!
R.I.P. Dusty
Amazing trio from Texas. We still love em in Europe too
How the fuck did it take me this long to realise Dusty sings this song and not Billy?! Amazing voice. What a loss to music
RIP Dusty.
R.I.P. dusty,we will miss you
Insanely good 🎸🎸🤘🏽🤘🏽
Another Legend gone, wow. Time doesn't lose to anyone, so rest in peace Dusty and bring a little Texas Rock to Heaven my brother.
R.i.p. Dusty Hill, legend!!!!!!!!!!
It was around 6 o'clock in the morning when "Tush" was played, after a long "Rockpalast Nacht" concert with different artists. Millions upon millions of people watched the live broadcast in Europe and beyond. Of course I stuck it out to the end and after that I was a passionate ZZ Top fan and still am today!
Um excelente baixista e vocalista!
RIP Dusty
The impressive thing is, Billy was part of two barn raisings earlier in the day and still had the energy to tear it up that night.
Lame ass Amish joke. Not even funny.actually it's sad and pathetic that all you can do is make childish jokes instead of appreciating the awesome band know ZZ TOP.
@@coyleigh6902 Lame ass reply, so, I guess we're even
RIP Dusty Hill gone too soon. When you listen to ZZ Top so do your neighbors.
RIP Dusty, you lived one heck of a life
Bye Dusty! I watched this video so many times over the years. What a band. I wish I would have had the chance to see them live.
RIP, brother
This is the GREATEST DUSTY SONG! RIP Dusty Hill -ROCKIN' IN HEAVEN 🤠
Rip dusty Hill. We will miss you.
WOW They are BURNIN here!
The best blues Rock Band ever!
I never realized Billy slung his guitar as low as Page
Magicians know how to wield their wand🤘
@@innes_82 Its truly a comfort thing. Look at his picking hand and its position. He placed his guitar basically where it rests at his hip. I couldnt ever stand the guitar being up by my ribs.
@@madmod It also means your fretting hand would never be in the correct position for playing high up on the neck. Billy has his fretting thumb on top of the neck or near the top for just about all his lead parts
@@roidmongerful It just means your fretting hand isnt at a 90 degree angle in a classical position. Imho, its more comfortable to let your arms hang where they hang but comfort is subjective. You shouldnt have to think about it, just sling it up where it feels right to *you*.
I think you mean Jimmy Slung his guitar low like Billy.
Thank you for everything Dusty
Thizz gig izz outstanding .... Billy izz flying, ... Frank izz so fuckin' mellow while killing it'zz ... and Dusty izz the Reverend ... layin' it'zz all down ....
RIP Dusty, we will all miss you!
ZZ top was my first concert in 1983 and my last in 2019. Another legendary band gone.It sucks but heaven got a bad ass bassist for Hendrix and Prince and all the other legends up there.
Great vocals by the late, great Dusty Hill!
Dusty Hill is one of a kind
R I P Dusty Hill.... From Korea.
R.I.P. Dusty Hill.
My uncle used to play this in our basement when I was growing up....this brings back some seriously dark memories. Before his arrest, he would play this repeatedly.
holy shit
Nice
RIP Dusty. You'll be missed.
I think they were at the top of their game around this time.
Alway a crowd pleaser, but this performance,..wow.
Just heard. Thank You Dusty. You were the greatest. ZZTOP forever. One of my All time top 5 10 bands.
Billy's Slide guitar is amazing
Cheers Dusty. Thank you for the great music.
Remember listening zztop rock high school 🏫🏫🏫
In tears. Life is just so precious y’all. Love it. ❤️
Love u guys 💗 been listening since mid 80's miss ya Mr dusty ❤️
A way of doing , a fucking way of doing. RIP Dusty, my friend.
incredible sound, power and tone from just three guys, Billy was quite animated then!
Dusty sang from his soul!
RIP Dusty!
I remember THIS ZZ TOP!!
R.I.P. Dusty. 😢
I love when Billy keeps on going when the song was supposed to end, he’s like “cmon boys let’s go”
RIP Dusty!!!
RIP Dusty Hill

En paz descance, el gran Dusty Hill!!
That was BAD ASS!!
Legend
Legend! You live in my radio,cassette,LP.....mind forever!
3:09-3:24... kicks ass! 😁
Keep practicing boys, your gonna make the big time one day.
RIO Dusty. Total badass legend.
Billy Gibbons knew Dusty was the better singer and said so many occasions. What a talent.
That morning when i heard that Dusty passed away i was on my way to celebrate my grandsons Birthday . ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My older brother saw the Fandango tour, also Skynerd in 77. Always been envious he saw those 2 shows. It's all good, we have CZcams 😃👍
Ahhh!! Sweet memories!! Rock Palast was a "Simulcast" concert, ie; broadcast on TV and FM radio at the same time!! Quite the cutting edge concept in 1980!! I happened to be a GI stationed in Germany at the time and me and my buddies were quite ripped on acid and watched this concert all night long!!! ZZ Top, Mitch Ryder, Joan Armatrading, Patti Smith, Ian Hunter, etc. Freakin, Kewl !!
Quite possibly the greatest slide player that rock n roll has ever seen
Nope.
I'm a huge Billy Gibbons fan for almost more than 30 years, but sory you're wrong. I think that Johnny Winter (R.I.P.),
Duane Allman (R.I.P.) and last but not least Robert Johnson (R.i.P) have set marks Billy Gibbons didn't reached.
@@Nothin-but-the-blues don't forget Rory Gallagher possibly the best
Gary Rossington is pretty good too
Hes insanely good but hes no Johnny Winter
The TONE!
Dusty Hill RIP
Bloody love this 🤟
RIP Dusty
Jesus, can that man sing!!!!!!!! Have mercy. Thank God for ZZ Top.
And, LOL, I don't even believe in God! LOL.
Miss Dusty much! Sad...
Let's all rock ! It's party time
Jep feel wild and young again...well no regrets at all ! ZZ belong to the best times of my life and always will be. R I P Dusty ya will kick ass for ever and a day! I was so lucky have been at 4 live concerts here in Germany the energy they gave was awesome
Tush my Ear, Brain and Heart 4ever
Man, now with Dusty gone you realize that ZZ Top is those 3 guys playing the same 3 chords, as Gibbons said. Dusty's bass tone was huge and his vocals imo were better than Gibbons'. Rest easy Dusty, gone way too soon
Dusty the great!!!!!!!!!
Rip dusty :(
