You should include the amount you have estimated for the entire trip.
You should also have proof of such funds in your bank account to show that you can afford the trip.

Hello….my mother inlaw just got denied for her B1B2 visa…..I was so comfortable that she will be approved due to her age but to my surprise she was denied. So this was how the questions and answers went:

My son will be sponsoring my trip.
How long will you be staying?

What business do you own?
I run a supermarket.

I cannot determine why she was denied based on your comments alone. You should review the information on the visa application form she completed together with these responses, and the status of the person who was to pay for her trip to understand why.
If it still doesn’t make sense, then feel free to apply again in future.
I applied for uk visa and refused bcos their own mistake, they used a bank statement thats not mine to adjudicate my application. I reapplied and addresses their mistakes and they approved it. I have goe to UK and back. Do i mention it on US visa application

I have strong justifications, letters etc, I think I am financially okay too. My only headache is the strong ties.
