- In this Spotlight On Entertainment segment, host John Malos interviews television/film star, Stan Livingston, best known for his role as 'Chip' on the popular television series, My Three Sons. The interview took place on September 8, 2012 at the California Armenian Home during the 'Reach for the Stars' fundraiser event for the Armenian Community School of Fresno. Join John and Stan as they reminisce about the early years of television, Stan's life as a young television star, and the various actors that starred in My Three Sons. This is an episode you don't want to miss and will surely want to share with your friends and family!
That may have been why Stan was so successful and survived. He lived a normal life.
I loved My Three Sons. Now I watch it on my phone.
Great interview. Stan is a real pro.
He was adorable at every age, and still such a cutiepie!! Looooved Chip!
ME too!!
Yeah he was a actor’s actor even as a young one. Checked his ego at the door and was a natural, that’s what attracted me.
great interview, great old show, seems like a great guy. thanks for the memories, Stan :)
He made that show IMHO. Who could take their eyes off Chip?
Stanley Livingston played chip Douglas on my three sons for all 12 seasons.
He sounds like a really nice guy! Cool, and yes I grew up with the boys!
"Chip" you were the most charming part of that show. You were just a doll. And you rocked in that first episode!
What a pleasant guy. I'm glad I watched.
Great interview. You can tell when someone does their homework before doing an interview. 'Chip' was a good subject, very clear and direct. No pretense or high-hat stuff. Down to earth.
I watched MTS going back to its beginning. A young 5-year old until I was out of high school. I hadn't seen its re-runs for a long time. When ME-TV ran it from the start that was the first time I'd seen it since it first ran. I'd seen some of the other on and off recently when they started to run on cable channels like ME-TV.
For some reason MTS, and 'Family Affair', both Don Pederson Productions, had a strange feel to them. Both has very slow and easy to follow plots. No quick action, not many camera edits to show 'pace'. Steve Douglas and 'Uncle Bill' seemed to be the same guy to me back then. And, of course, both featured unmarried (mostly) males put in charge of a family. Both had male help replacing the 'mother' and both were set in New York (state). Although Uncle Bill never married, Steve Douglas remarried towards the end of the series. The Douglas Clan also moved, to California, the other series stayed in New York.
I can't describe the unique 'feel' the series had. I watch it today on ME-TV and it's still strange. My favorite seasons of MTS were 1-5 (episode 18) when 'Bub' played by William Frawley was the house 'maid'. It was ok until it moved out west, when I started to lose interest in it. For some reason, the 'eastern' sense to it in New York appealed to my sense of location. Sending Bub off to Ireland, on a trumped up excuse to get him off the series, was a low budget move and unfair to the old guy. He was dropped for insurance reasons. He passed away several months later, some, including Desi Arnaz, felt more from boredom than anything else.
Great series. Never be anything like it. Again, the pace will never be repeated.
Wonder why 'Chip' and 'Ernie' never created their own version of the series in their later lives. Maybe there's still time. 'My Three Grandsons'.
I'm almost done rewatching season one but I've never heard any mention of them living in NY state, I just assumed they were in California (the weather's always warm and sunny).
"My Three Son" wasn't taped, it was filmed. It was filmed with 35mm film. FILM. I'm getting sick and tired of so-called professionals getting that wrong. Get with it!!!!
Stanley Livingston, you were the best in your day.
The character of Chip was adorable. He is hysterical on the first episode of that show---and beyond. He was a natural.
One of the very best child actors EVER!
Loved this interview--- thank you so much!
Just seeing these early epis on ME TV. They rock.
Strange but I may have missed it here but Don Grady who played Robbie, died a couple of months before this interview.
I loved my three sons. You were such a cutie. I was born in 1950 too.
This was very entertaining!he's still cute! I'm smiling!
Stanley Livingston was great on "My Three Sons".
He was hysterical on that show!!
This was very interesting, thanks so much for sharing.
great show i vaguely remember it im watching it now on me tv great show
I'm gonna go back and watch all those movies Stan was in. Neat junk!
No comments as of now about Tina Cole. She was a living doll.Would be nice to do an interview of Tina.
What a great interview! I loved that show!! I really loved tina cole!
So glad to find this. He's great and I love this show. I wonder if it's still on.
Me TV
Yes
Stan the Man!
The oldest son Mike was exiled to the same island that Chuck from Happy Days went to.
Not really. He was on the show for 5 years. Told the he wanted to do other things and gave them enough notice.
@@suestephan3255 I was pointing out that both just disappeared. They were never heard from again like they never existed in the first place.
Always thought Chip looked like he could be Steve MacMurray's son.
I was waiting for John to say "Do you believe in miracles?". Who else thinks John sounds like Al Michaels?
The Dodgers were still in Brooklyn till around 1958
I had no idea it was in black and white
I miss the ones of Chip and Polly.
I remember that movie Please Don't Eat the Daisies.
@@carolynhowell9768 I will look at it again, just for Chip.
Always thought Polly was really pretty. They were a good couple. I liked them a lot. Honestly, I never thought ":Katie" was paired well with Robbie Douglas.
Chip and Polly would have made a good spin-off show. I know they offered it to Robbie and Katie but Don Grady did not want it. I liked them as a couple. Chip and Polly were a good couple.
Dang doesn't seem that long ago.
These are great interviews. The episode snippets are cool. My favorite was the one where Chip is gonna get laid!!!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
i dont remember the episode of chip losing his virginity
Chip. (Barry Livingston) has the same birthday as I do.
Ernie is my favorite.
He is very rude to anyone who disagrees with him on Facebook.
doddy was so cute she is my age
She was a nice addition to the show at that point as well as Polly.
I HATE the term “yesteryear.”
Chip Douglas was a chip off the old block.
Nice to see Stanley but John could do a much better job as an interviewer for his age? at least in my opinion.
I think he is good.
Great interview, but for God's sake, STOP INTERRUPTING THE STAR! We want to hear HIM, NOT YOU.
