without the nes, I would not be the gamer I am today.
Holy crap it's SuperJumpReviews. Love your vids man
Zephyr LOL, of all places! Good to see you too :)
SuperJumpReviews Without the NES, there wouldn't be games in general.
***** That thing crashed the market at the end of it's true life in 1983. After that year, store owners became enraged as soon as someone said the word "video game". However, Nintendo came around and cleverly marketed a modified Famicom as something other than a video game, and because of it's high sales video games became reborn. If there were was no NES, there would be no video games today... well, wide spread video games.
Love ur channel
The Nintendo entertainment system, my first true love.
Mine was a woman
no i want godzilla
SAME!!
When a 16 year old kid is playing SMB3 in 2021 and enjoying it you know it’s a timeless game
I almost finish that game in 2006 (16 yo me) in a physical console with no save states, they manage to get a level of difficulty so right, most NES games were painfully difficult. It almost looks like it's not a game from 1990, truly a master piece.
I still can play that game in 2023
Full list below:
10. TMNT 2
9. Castlevania 3
8. Punch out
7. Contra
6. Ducktales
5. Metroid
4. Megaman 2
3. Super Mario/ Duckhunt
2. Legend of Zelda
1. Super Mario 3
Pffft Ducktails what a joke ain't no way in hell is that game better than punch out o
Tecmo for foot ball
@Maffatzky PH I love that game.
Tecmo (Sports/wrestling)games & Konami (Sports games) was my favorite too they we can get mini Sega Genesis modded with bunch systems & games in files to play .. 2020
Double Dragon II, Super Contra II, Snow Bros, Double Dragon III
Double Dragon and even better was River City Ransom.
And has some of the best NES music I've ever heard
Double Dragon 2 was off the chain. I liked throwing fools out of the helicopter
RIVER CITY RANSOM!!!!
I disagree. Street Gangs is way better. For an 8bit console to cramp so much information what River City Ransom contained was just unbelievable. From dialogue, unique stats system to brilliant fighting mechanic's. This game was just ahead of its time.
@@omegaweapon116 solstice batman and double dragon 2 all 3 games had good music
Great list and yet how many fantastic games are not on this list. Just shows what a great system the NES was and still is.
It's definitely a classic console, there's no denying that. However, it hasn't aged very well... like, at all. Without nostalgia, NES games are kindof unplayable today due to the games lacking depth (being extremely repetitive) and being unforgiving with the difficulty.
Not my favourite, but definitely one of my top 10: Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers :)
welcometomoonbar yep same. Honorable mention: Super C 🤟
Omg I loved that game!
yes chip n' dale is a good game :^)
I have it on my phone now in 2020. It's available for android. Miss those days.
Amazing game
Ive just started playing SMB3 - cant believe how much they got out of the humble NES. The game is absolutely amazing.
It's funny how the Ninja Gaiden series is always under appreciated.
Yeah, and Ninja Gaiden sure is better than Duck Tales, for instance
I know I think it deserves a spot on this list
IT IS NOT IT IS 80% OF THE TIME ON EVERY TOP TEN LIST
baalsaak Ninja Gaiden is great to be sure, but better than DuckTales? That's a tough call.
Very true!!!
Tough to have a top 10 NES list without Tecmo Super Bowl and River City Ransom, but I agree with most of the rest.
Renegades was better than RCR
no it isnt
Bo Jackson is the greatest running back of all time 👍🏽💯
Kirby's Adventure was one of my all time favorite. Right up there with SM3.
“This list sucks! Where’s (insert random NES game here)”
Guys, do you know how many good NES game there are? Not all of them can fit in a five-minute video.
Street fighter 2010
There not all that good. But smb 3, Loz, and Earthbound zero (Mother) are masterpieces
T e t r i s
Battletoads,darkwing duck,ninja gaiden,double dragon
Tnmt Manhattan project is the best tnmt game but not listed don't know why ☹️
You hear the DuckTales tune at the end. That's cool! And this is a amazing list after all!
The time when WatchMojo don't have Honorable Mentions...
nes godzilla
Mario 3 is def the best nes game, still play it to this day, and i have a ps3, ps4, switch, xbox and yet i find myself playing nes snes and sega games. Mostly because my kids took over the living room gaming but in my man cave i still have my retro games! Love these top 10 videos, i have so many retro games that deserve playing!
For the NES, Metroid, hands down! It was the only game I could find in which the player could backtrack through previously visited areas to gain power ups previously unreachable. Each time I played it, I found previously undiscovered secrets; like secret passages, hidden pickups, and different ways to achieve a goal.
Kirby's Adventure is incredibly underrated.
Probably because it was released in 1993, 3 years after the SNES released in Japan (2 years after the worldwide release).
Game was way too easy to be a top 10 game.
Ikr
So true
Oh man, I still remember getting so excited to go to my grandparents to play Super Mario 1 and 3 with my nieces 😍 the feels!
I love all Mario games
You're an old dude like me, as most of watching this video
I played a lot of Conflict when I had my nintendo way back in the day. Couldn't find many people to play it with me, kinda slow strategy game. It got me hooked on strategy games!
My mom ordered me an NES yesterday.
I love NES. I don’t know what my favorite is.
your favorite is either snes or nes
Duck hunt, super Mario, super Mario bros 3 and the legend of zelda. That's the beginning of my gamer life so much grate times specially quz at Dr we have power outage all the time and it was really hard to finish a game since you loose power every day lol
Operation: Wolf was one of my favorites, as well as Double Dragon!!
MARIO BROS 3 is my favorite game of all time. A total blast, no matter how many times you've already beaten it
I love all your choices, truly great NES games. The best thing about being a kid during that golden age, was how these games stimulated my imagination. There was so much more that I wanted to see in these worlds, and it motivated me to write my own stories, and draw my own pitcures. This is all led to me creating my own worlds and characters. Great time!
Games that I also would say as honorable mentions:
Ninja Gaiden
Tecmo Bowl
SNK Baseball Stars
Little League World Series
Do a top 10 worst movie physics. For Example, Fast 6, where the final scene would require a 24-mile long runway, or the first GI Joe movie, where ice sinks to the bottom of the ocean.
I like, I like. Can you add it to our suggest tool with any other examples? I am sure it will fill up soon and get a lot of votes
WatchMojo.com Suggested. I don't have that many examples off the top of my head though.
DeeDubb1983
start thinking. I think that would be a good list even though I liked g.i. joe and fast 6 =/
You might like Real Physics on The Escapist website
www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/reel-physics
WatchMojo.com in the movie WANTED, the trick of "curve" bullets trajectory for hit the targets that learn the asasins
Ninja Gaiden serie should be one of the Top10. Not many games had cutscenes at that class back then
Yeah, Ninja Gaiden aint bad. Kabuki Quantum Fighter is sort of similar like that and could be an honorable mention at best.
it was punishingly difficult
Pradeep Dungdung most definitely
Lol I just beat this game today... It was super hard and I used game genie
Then u did not truly beat NG till u do it without a game genie. Lol ive beaten it 100s of times without cheats, so keep slashing ninja! ; )
Linus Ji it's a classic
This was my first console back then, so many memories.
nes classic is perfect for you or nes if your going real classic
List starts out swinging for the fences and succeeds. Excellent work Watch Mojo, excellent work!
The bit about Zelda is incorrect. Zelda was not the first game with a battery back-up. That game is called Pop and Chip for the Super Cassette Vision only released in Japan (1985). Before anyone brings up that Zelda came out in Japan a year earlier...not with battery back-up as it was released for the Famicom Disk System add-on.
There was a game called Ironsword on the nes and it was my favorite game ever.
Ninja Gaiden should have been on the list, sure it was a hard game but mind blowing as hell.
When the Nintendo Entertainment System 1st shipped on October 18, 1985 as the Deluxe Kit, it came with Gyromite and Duck Hunt. Mario was a pack in for the later Action Set
Rygar and Tecmo Super Bowl were the two games that I played constantly growing up.
Great list, I'm in the process of making my own top 10 or possibly just top 5 NES games right now I'm going to release it tomorrow
But there's no Faxanadu! Karate Champ! Goonies 2! Kung Fu! Boogertime! Blaster Master (That's an arcade hit!) Renegades! All my favorites!
Vagitarian yes bro I feel you
Especially for Kung fu
Man was that list stupid
Pretty good list but one of my all time favorites was Castlevania 2 Simon's quest. Thanks. I love that you include Super Mario bros 3.
Ahhh...... memories of Contra. I'm having fun playing with my friend
Just imagine how cool Shovel Knight would‘ve been on the NES
They forgot Tecmo Bowl
Johny Kilroy Tecmo SUPER Bowl
super tecmo bowl was not only one of the best games on nes, but one of the best games of all time
agreed!!! that's the first thing I said when the list was done.
@Iron Man my 2nd favorite of all time.
It was really good. But not top ten.
Very good list, I would have Contra and Castlevania III above Metroid and Ducktales, but that is just about a perfect top 10.
A good list of easy to recognize games.. not listed but equally good: Battletoads, Shadow of Olympus, Guardian Legend, River City Ransom, Skate or Die, Metal Storm, Shatterhand, Shadow of the Ninja, Batman, Blades of Steel etc etc
Ninja Gaiden has to be in the top ten.
"Super Mario Bros. 2" will always remain my favorite game on the NES, regardless of those who claim it isn't a 'proper' Mario game, though the history behind it would prove otherwise.
It's actually pretty cool.IDK why it got so much hate...Recently I started doing a NES Mario marathon and I can say Mario II IS the most original out of the three
ZeKuHD I totally agree with you, and the game also happens to contain the first of quite a few things in the Mario series to follow. For instance, it was the first Mario game to have both Toad and Peach as playable characters, the first game to feature Luigi in his redesigned look (instead of him looking like a simple pallet-swap of Mario), and the first appearance of characters such as Shy Guy, Bob-omb, and Birdo. :)
+Casey Decker What will I do without Toad or Peach in 3D World?
NOTHING,BECAUSE THEY ARE THE BEST
And Mario Bros. 2 had the idea.
Exactly: Super Mario Bros. 2 was originally intended as Mario game. It was turned into Doki Doki Pani. Then changed back..
+ZekuArtZ and the hardest out or the three too.
I just bought a Top Loader last week. Started playing 8 bit again.
For me Adventure Island III is the best, Using those dragons added so much colour and life to my childhood
No Double Dragon II: The Revenge? That's like the best 8 bit game I ever played.
Sick game
My favorite NES Game
True
Damn that game is really good
I was a Sega fan at the time of the NES, but I always thought Super Mario 3 was the ultimate masterpiece of the 8-bit era.
I have played the PS3 remake of DuckTales from 2013 which Matt Bozon, the creator of Shantae, added a few extras to the mix
My best played NES games include Barbie, Super Mario Bros., California Games, Bubble Bobble, Deadly Towers, Pictionary, Marble Madness, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Yoshi, Tetris, Little Nemo: The Dream Master, Gilligan's Island, Galaga and Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf
Awesome video super Mario 3 was definitely my favorite
The video game of Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers was also great! Spider-Man: The Return of Sinister Six & Double Dragon 2 also deserve some honorable mentions!
Indeed, there are a lot of underrated nes titles, including mine, super Mario bros 2 that I got for Christmas 1988
I can't believe there wasn't an honorable mention on this list.
yeah
I loved Super Mario 3 back in my FamiCom days, haven't played Mario World will give it a try using emu
I always loved going to the arcades as a kid. I played video games at every grocery store and convenience store we went to. I started off on Atari and then Intellivision. But the day I got my first NES is the day I was locked in as a life long gamer. The year was 1985 when I was 10 years old. I got the console, SMB, and 2 controllers. No Duck Hunt. No zapper gun. No Robbie the Robot. Just me, Nintendo, Mario, and Luigi. Retail price we paid was $79.99 plus tax. When 1986 rolled around I got The Legend of Zelda. I still spent most of my Saturdays at the arcade. From then until now I got Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, Nin Gamecube, Wii, Nin Switch, Ps1, Ps2, Ps3, Ps4, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Nin 3ds, and a Sega Genesis. I'm 45 years old now and I am still missing a few systems. I gave away my Atari 7800 to someone in need. Can't be too greedy.
Kirby's Adventures is really the best NES game.
They forgot ghost and goblins, that's 1 of the best games for the nes.
@Ur Mom 118 yeah he did
Genisis does what Nintendon't
Great top 10 list
Rivercity Ransom was my all time childhood favourite game !
My grandad found a NES which my mum used to play and I'm allowed to have it
Take good care of it, :)
Or you could play an emulator
Arlo Johnston not the same
Cameron Galante 1. Hook up computer to a TV
2. Buy a USB NES controller
And it's literally the same
Linkfan99
Still need the nes and the original controller. i would rather blow in the nes and cartridge to make it work...im like that with nes and n64 stuff.
Wow what about Ninja Gaiden and Bionic Commando and Metal Gear? Those games are pillars of the gaming industry.
metal gear wasn't good.
fuckin love bionic commando
It's their list, not yours.
Robert Cross Now if I recall correctly, you said "Wow what about Ninja Gaiden and Bionic Commando and Metal Gear? Those games are pillars of the gaming industry." not "I fuckin love bionic Commando." Nice Recover!
Robert Cross i aint over until i say its over nah seen muh bruddah
I definitely agree with this list. Great picks!
Mario 3 is the best Nintendo game, hands down. I still play it today, and love the the 3Mix, Mario Adventure and Luigi’s Chronicles 2 Hacks too. Amazing Games!
Teenage mutant ninja turtles 2 is the best NES ported game ever. Finished it long ago. Lots of memories with that game.
True story, I carried a old 8 bit nes to sale with some other things to a store called Trade-it, a young girl was in charge of checking it out, I was called to the desk and told by her that the store could not take the system because its 2 player mode didn't work. I was confused so I had her show me, she turned on Super Mario Bros and selected Two player mode and when Stage 1-1 started she turned and said "see, there is only one player on the screen where is the second player? the co op mode is broken? Im sorry sir we cant take this, I was so shocked at feeling old and from her IQ that I placed the unit back in the box and told her I will carry it home and place it with the other 20 I have that are broken also. My nephew plays it every day now and enjoys every minute of it.
I would've smacked that dumbass bitch.
I sold mine for a little bit of nothing to buy some lsd back in the 90s. Stupid, I know
Hahaha, your time has passed grandpa. No one wants to play shitty nes games anymore. In fact, everyone's hate it because of it's shitty grapics and stupid gameplay, hahaha.
@@bebongpogi8334 you are a fucking dumbass, there are lots of kids that still plays nes, snes, atari, vectrex, intellivison, clocovision, neo Geo, sega genesis. You need to lay off the fucking drugs cause its showing yours and that dumbass girl from triad in are morons.
Hahaha, that's because your grandchild didn't know about today's new game console yet. If they found out about it, they will surely throw that shitty nes console in the garbage, hehehe.
Awesome video! I really like your list. I recently did an NES Top Ten rap video on my channel.
1980sGamer spotted in the wild
Pretty solid list!
Also great: Dragon Warrior (possibly superior to Zelda), Baseball Stars, Track and Field, Ice hockey, Tetris, Dr. Mario, Solomon's Key
Pretty much a spot on list. My only change would be top put in Chip N Dale, rescue Rangers instead of DuckTales. It was more addictive and had great 2-player action. Also, Super Tecmo Bowl for us sports guys. That was easily one of the best NFL games ever.
word!!
There needs to be a "Top 10 Video Games That Were Only Released In Japan".
Padlock Films Too niche for wm. Even this Top 10 is a mess.
1. Mother 3
Spinning TV See that’s an easy number 1 choice
C3 i gotta go back n play that one again. The 1st one was a classic top 20
SM3 was gangster. Saved all my birthday/Christmas for this game's debut when I was in 7th grade
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE NUMBER ONE!!! :D
The game is difficult to pass
not really
Diego Aracena Any link for the download?
I agree!!!!! a lot!
It was way too easy
I personally enjoy MM3 more than MM2.
thats not nes noob
Thatguy11233 Umm...the first six Mega Man games were all on NES, so, yeah, Mega Man 3 was on NES. ...noob.
I agree, 3 was the better game for me as well. 2 was good until you realized that the metal blade destroyed everything. Also Quick Man's stage was just annoying as hell.
To be honest, my favorites are probably just every game after 1. After 1, all the games were pretty much the same thing just with different bosses. If someone mashed 2-6 together I doubt anyone would notice that they were all different games.
KillJoy there was no super mega buster at megaman 1 and 2. There was also no sliding option....so yeah...it is different
I was lucky enough to be a young teen when this system came out and this NES made me what I am today. I have so much nostalgic to this system. Bad Ass and very fun. I still play it to this very day. Hell my Pop even played sports games with us on this system. The best system in my eyes. A+++
Double Dragon III The Roseta Stones... My favourite game ever :) Bucky O'Hare, Contra Spirits ( my first game-with 30 lives :D ), Chip and Dale I and II, Jungle Book ... pretty nice games :) Still have them till this day :D
MY TOP 5...
5. Castlevania II
4. Legend of Zelda
3. Master Blaster
2. Megaman II
1. CONTRA!!!
They should do a Top 10 Mojo Videos
Amazing list. I played double dragon the most. Sad it didn't made it here. So did ninja gaiden
I have at least 20 games downloaded on my Nintendo Wii especially the top sellers and most popular nes games! Definitely some classics!
No mention of Blaster Master? Okay...
Yo noid! and Double Dragon II.
Finally y’all got a list right ✊🏾
Awesome List 😍
As a child I loved bubble bobble, it holds a place in my heart. However Super Mario Bros 3 was my all time favorite.
Kirby's Adventure is missing
Disturbing, right?
mxtp And Final Fantasy isn't on the list too :(
Kirby’s adventure is my one of my favorite NES games and also my favorite Kirby game.
I would remove Turtles 2 and Ducktales and put in Kirby and Mega Man 3 somewhere in there.
@@mattiasolsson1523 mine is Dreamland 2 for game boy it is amazing how well made it is
*SUPER MARIO BROS (1985)*
*HAS TO BE THE GREATEST VIDEO GAME OF ALL TIME .*
*IT'S FUCKING PRICELESS .*
Fuck yeah
Absolutely Super Mario Bros 3. Played it literally everyday back in the 80s 90s. Still do now.
I think Double Dragon 2 deserved a spot on the list
TMNT2 will get the nod since it sold so well, but unlike that game, Double Dragon 2 on the NES was BETTER than the arcade version.
Will Smith 1 Life
No continues.
I love double dragon because my dad introduced me to games he used to play
MaximumPayne12 loved all three of them spent hrs of my childhood killin time on that game
Top 5 NES Imports: 5. Devil World (PAL NES) 4. Yume Kojou: Doki Doki Panic (FDS) 3. Mother (a.k.a. EarthBound Beginnings) (Famicom) 2. Akumajo Densetsu (a.k.a. Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse) (Famicom) (Famicom version has better sound and music than the NES version.) 1. Super Mario Bros. 2 (a.k.a. Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels) (FDS)
Justin Hill I agree with you about Mother!
The mario bros included with the console. I spent so many hours playing that game. It was well made and fun. Another worthy mention was contra. It was very popular in the arcade and decent on nes. Great games.
that's super mario bros
@worstcaseofcrabsever5510 Well he said "included with the console" so that gives it away as Super Mario Bros. (The 83 Mario Bros arcade game never came packaged with the console)
Nice list! Can’t forget double dragon!
where is ninja gaiden and super mario 3 was my favorite game. excite bike was fun too
Super Mario Bros. 3 is number one. What are you talking about?
He's saying that his favorite games
03:12 Yes Mega Man confirmed
Probably should've done a top 20. So many classic games. Super Mario 2, Ninja Gaiden, Skate or Die, RC Pro AM, River City Ransom, ect....
I rented smb3 (could have been smb2, was a long time ago) from the store back in the 80's. To my surprised when I popped it into my NES it was in japenese! I played the daylights out of it. There was a golf game we used to play a lot and Blades of Steel got a lot of time in too.
My personal fav
1. SuperMario 3
2. Zelda 1
3. Mega Man 3
4. Zelda 2
5. Metroid
6. Rygar
7. SuperMario 2
8. Punch Out
9. Double Dragon 3
10. Castlevania
Rygar was a buggy mess.
There are two warring camps on Megaman...one says 2 was the best and one says 3 was the best. My honest opinion is that 2 broke 1 down and made it the franchise worthy its successor. All Megaman sequels from 3-6 try to recapture the genie in the bottle.
I loved Wizards & Warriors, Kirby's Adventure and Snake Rattle 'n Roll.
And where the hell is TETRIS? Don't tell me this wasn't one of the most successful games on the NES.
The Gameboy version was more popular than the NES version.
How could you like Wizards and Warriors?
How could I not? I was maybe 8 Years old and completed it over and over again just because I had it. A feeling that is forgotten nowadays.
I thought the fighting was flawed and the powerups were horrible.
Ninja Gaiden should be in there somewhere...Blades of Steel was pretty good too..
hardest thing about NES was the save mechanism which was dependent on codes made it so difficult to finish games
Some of my favourites were Arkanoid, Excitebike, Ice Climber, all 5 Mario games (Arcade Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 1,2 & 3 and Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2) all 4 Donkey Kong games (Donkey Kong 1 Donkey Kong Jr. Donkey Kong 3 and Donkey Kong Jr. Math) Lunar Pool (Lunar Ball in Japan), Big Nose The Caveman, Balloon Fight, Pinball, Pin-Bot, Popeye, Track & Field, Wrecking Crew, Dig Dug 2 Trouble In Paradise, 1942, Baseball, DuckTales, Golf, Tennis, Soccer, Slalom
Super c
Ninja gaiden
Metal storm
has got to be in the top 10
Great call! Ninja Gaiden was easily top 10
Mario 3 is beautiful
I never agree with lists. It's the First time I agree with ALL the games on a specific list. Great collection of games!!!
I went to japan in the summer of 89 and my cousin had famicom. Megaman 2 and Super Mario 3 was not out yet. I bought a system and brought back only those two games.
