This is the second "Top 100 NES Games" list that this channel has uploaded; the previous one - from a few years back featured a list based on user votes. So, here we go with a list based on a gaming website!

IGN is crazy. Some of these games are too high or too low. They forgot some games like Batman, Bucky O'Hare, Karnov, Gun Nac, Werewolf the last warrior, Gremlins 2.
Exactly, Bucky O'Hare is in the top 20 easily.

Batman should be in the top ten and Werewolf:The Last Warrior should be there, but I don't know how many people have actually played it. Codename: Viper should be on the list also.

It's missing Base Wars (1991) but otherwise a solid list most of which I actually remember playing.
Double Dragon 2 was my favorite game. I loved the music so much.
Definitely agree about Super Mario 3. That game was a huge part of my early childhood. Still stands on its own today.
I regard it as the best title for NES. The fun factor and gameplay are virtually unmatched.

The NES has always been my favorite system. Many memories of long nights of gameplay. Dkoldies got it right with the selected games in this package. These games will definitely provide you with many hours of entertainment. I have memories of using the Konami code to get through Contra. Mike Tyson's Punchout imo is the best boxing game ever created. Also, a classic game like the Legend of Zelda tops off this outstanding package deal.

For sure Karnov and how in the hell is Dragon Warrior 3 number 96? And just adding this in there : Dragon Warrior 1-4 were all made by Enix before they merged with Squaresoft and became SquareEnix. Rygar should have been #2 for sure

The NES had some truly amazing games.
Zelda was a great character, he was such a great warrior. His quests were always so involved. I never could tell why he was on the quest though. I'm just kidding.

I sort of mentally checked out of this list after seeing Punch Out at #83. But then I see that was separate from Mike Tyson's Punch Out at #4. I'm not sure why people felt the need to mention the Tyson-less version from the NES Classic. It's the same game...they just pulled Iron Mike due to his legal troubles and unsavory history.
Not sure what you mean. There's no Punch-Out at #83, but Ring King is at #78.
It wasn't legal troubles. Tyson was dropped after he lost to Buster Douglas-- Nintendo didn't want to pay to use his likeness anymore. They already made a boatload of cash off him.

Return of the Joker, Sector Z, Strider, Shatterhand, Power Blade 2, Astyanax, Ironsword: Wizards & Warriors 2, to name a very few of many games missed.
The most famous classic games for me are Super Mario, Contra, Tanks, Bomberman and Tetris.
Finally found lots of games that I played alot back in the day but I forgot the title :D, I cant believe I played so many games back then.

The order is pretty weird and there are quite a number of notable absences (mostly in late-era games). No way should DQ1 be ranked way higher than 3 or 4, for instance. And Skate or Die 2 could probably be axed entirely, make room for something like Kick Master, Legacy of the Wizard, Ninja Gaiden 3, or Golgo 13.
Only games on this list I haven't played are Cobra Triangle and Micro Machines.

Adventure Island 1 and 3 should have definitely been there.
Dragon Warrior 3 where it is seems really bad at first (and it is), but then you see where Double Dragon 3 is and you have to wonder who at IGN signed off on this.

Well, that would be my top 100 but I definitely agree with a lot of the games on this list. Personally, I think it's a valid list as an opinion but I personally wouldn't have as many sport or racing games on my list.
I would definitely have all the Megaman games, Zelda, Mario, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden's, Final Fantasy, Ninja Turtles (1, 2, & 3), Contra, Ghost & Goblins, Metroid, Batman, Punch-out, Double Dragons, Battle Toads, & the Donkey Kong games.
^Right there you already have about 35 games that I consider to be some of the top games or most played of all time. I would definitely keep"Kid Niki-Radical Ninja" on the list but just because I grew up playing that game with my cousin (fond memories) and it was an alright fun game. Very simple to play it's a stage adventure game where you run &jump over instant deaths & just smack enemies coming from either side of you. It kind of has a similar feel to Ghost & Goblins and even has a boss at the end of every level. There are a few games that didn't make the list that I feel should have like Yo Noid.

Was just one Ninja Gaiden on this list? Come on. They’re all fun to play. The music, the action, the bosses, the levels are challenging. Especially when you have to jump ledge to ledge when it’s snowing.

Agree there!! However I think that the fact excitebike had a mode where you could customise your own tracks was pretty innovative and maybe that's why it ranked higher

Some of the best games haven't made it on that list, like "Kick Master", "Mighty Final Fight", "Ninja Gaiden 3", "Shatterhand", "Shadow of the Ninja" and many others.

The game that made me love questing / RPGs as a kid. Definitely one of the most underrated titles on the NES. Would love to see a modern sequel.

DD 3 is better than 2 due to the new characters, and of course, the mummy Cleopatra story.

Dd3 was only better because of the new character and sprint feature. DD2 was hard af without the sprint feature man.
