rest in peace :( F
I too brother😔
Valerij Gelasov was good Human😭😔
Remember all those who paid the cost of lies.
if you are talking about those 3 men, they weren't dead within weeks not even month's but. one of the died, not because of cancer or whatever you get from radioactivity but he died from a heartfailure
Vasily :"I promised you that I would take you to Moscow One day"...... heartbreaking moment for Lyudmilla..
also she lied (about she see red square, st. basil cathedral) just to make him happy
Indeed😔
for that she says Thankyou. thats even more tearing apart.
I couldn't see his face so I skipped that all
Were they technically in Moscow at that point?
Why does everybody seem to keep cutting one of the most important dialogs of the show short?
Legasov: Why?
For the same reason our reactors do not have containment buildings around them, like those in the West.
For the same reason we don't use properly enriched fuel in our cores.
For the same reason we are the only nation that builds water-cooled, graphite-moderated reactors with a positive void coefficient.
It's cheaper.
So the video isn't too long?
because the american NATO bastards opressed sovjet economy 1970-1985 so much, that we had to use dangerous nuclear plants to create enough electricity for our citizen.
the containment buildings in the west are now outdated, badly fixed and not shutdowned for economic reasons.
because these plants creat money, while they work (like chernobyl) and the nuclear lobby claimed, that their reactors would work "forever" or at least some hundred years and they worked more like 40-50 years, because of the infrastructure of the reactor core, the thing, that can open up and creat chernobyl, get small holes over time, that can make the core explode under unforseen big pressure (like chernobyl) and this actual happend some times allready in belgium and the cotainment building had holes too, so we ere able to see the radiation leaking out and be contained later with "more water" to fix the problem.
@@apollomars1678 research the red terror. The soviets shoud be whiped of the earth when they started their revolution. If the tsar wasnt murdered Russia would be a wonderfull country and even WW2 would never happened.
@@leachimy24 omg u dumbass , u think that the problem is just with USSR , the problem is with the politicians , every one , they don't care abt their ppl , they care abt their power, no matter which country , USA too had some fair amt of foul play , every country is in debt of the truth , the debt which shall be paid by not the politicians but by the innocent people
@@priyanshubhatade5654 absolutely....
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this masterpiece of a mini-series, it’s this: ask no longer ‘what is the cost of truth?’ but ‘what is the cost of lies?’ What is the cost of the lies we tell each other? What is the cost of lies we tell ourselves?
"Every lie we tell incurs debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is paid."
-Vasily Legasov

Very powerful tribute to a wonderful show. The best tribute to Chernobyl that i have seen. The editing, scenes, voice overs and music is fantastic, excellent job.
Thank you:)
@@Ovanes i wanna jump in here for a second just to say that the way you edited what happened in the control room/reactor room/trial was incredible, especially with Legasov's dialogue. It made me cry. That choice of music was such a great decision too. Like 'pepperpie13' said - a very powerful tribute.
rochey1010 thank you 😌
The cost of lies is another one.
'do you taste metal' the most horrifying line ever...
If Dyatlov Had Listened To What He Was Being Told By Everyone Else In That Control Room This Disaster Could Have Been Avoided ...
It would have happened eventually and given there would have been more RBMK reactors probably more than once
Dee I wonder what would’ve happened if they hadn’t pressed AZ-5
@Josep Rey Cases the best possible choice would be to leave it alone, and evacuate people immediately. and adding something that can decrease the radiation would minimize damage.
If the tips were not graphite, it also would have been ok. The point of the show is, there was an entire litany of incompetencies, and any one of them fixed would have avoided the issue. But that's how incompetencies run rampant. Most of the time, someone stops a disaster happening before it happens, and the corruption that lead to that danger in the first place is ignored, until it can't be ignored.
It would still happen. The tips being made of graphite was a bit of an oversimplification. Actually there was a full rod made of graphite attached to the boron cooling rods so when they were drawn the graphite would take its place and acts as a moderator (because otherwise the rod channels fill up with water and reactivity still goes down), but they were slightly shorter than the reactor itself and pushing AZ-5 dislocated then all simultaneously creating a gap and the difference in pressure exploded the core. Once those 200 rods were removed the reactor was doomed
Very disturbing , very touching, this world is always driven by greed and perception, sometimes someone had the guts to stand up .
"raise the power"
WHAT DID YOU DO
The real heros are buried under layers of lies ,as the liers will always find a way to stay away from responsibility

I REALLY liked how you put this scene in the beginning
"you believe that this scientist will be stirred into motion by me?"
"YES" "Why?"
"Because YOU'RE WALERIE LEGASOV and you mean something."
especially with the music in the background it was really sad. I almost teared up because the scene reminded me how tragic it is that he died only 2 years later and he was the one who had a huge impact on controlling the disaster. His name should be remembered!
Really Good Job👍
It was only with the fall of the USSR in the 90's that his name was finally given the acknowledgement that he deserves.
Btw not to be rude but it's valery legasov not walerie legasov
Why the hell does this not have more views? I mean seriously - only 20k views says more about the CZcams community than it does your editing skills because you're amazing.
Nuclear Winter thank you ☺️
*Khomyuk* These three men allowed it to proceed.
*Fomin* Dyatlov was in charge
*Dyatlov* I was in the toilet.
*Bryukhanov* How could I have allowed it to proceed, I was Sleeping!.
Ignatenko:Lyudmila there is no chemical
Ignatenko:gets radiation sickness
Lyudmila:keeps Ignatenko
Ignatenko: *screams*
Lyudmila:we gonna have a baby :(
LOL
" I told you I'd show you Moscow, remember?"
Who remembers this line from the movie?
So sad :( And Lyudmilla lied to Vasily when she said she was seeing the Red Square and the symbols of Moscow just to make him happy :((
This is such an amazing show highlighting true heroes. RIP, Brave Souls.
Ох, сильная подборка моментов из сериала, мурашки конкретные... Нет пределов благодарности тем героям, благодаря не случилось ещё большей трагедии, которая могла быть.
Best TV show EVER 10/10💪💪❤❤
With just 5 episodes.. you cant compare
@@Anicius_ yes
@@Anicius_ still better than most if not all fictional ones because its the reality which is scarier and leaves deeper impression than any madeup alien, demon, ghost or zombie. Even if not the best tv series then still best miniseries.
When you think about it if they didn't do all of this in time more than half of Europe would be uninhabitable for 20.000 years
That is not true. It a Hollywood dramatization and is not scientific accurate. Movies are not an accurate source for knowlede.
@@yottaforce Yeah, Chernobyl COULD have done it.... but not only would it take a very long time it'd require they literally leave it alone that whole time.
Really powerful video, that part of history has to be known, thank you !
Kodjo thank you
legasov: Whats the cost of lies
Me: pain and suffering😔
And often including in this case the pain and suffering of innocent people not the ones who made the lie.
Imagine yourself in the place of the three men when she said "these three men allowed it to proceed"...

God bless you for still remembering the facts and words can affect a world in a second
Asimov was an amazing man, when one if the men said they never done it before , he reassured him "its okay, im with you".
RIP Paul Ritter - you played an excellent villain. You were an amazing actor. This show mattered.
Awesome. Outstanding and superbly done.
1:23 Dyatlov never believed that anyone would speak out for him. He was buried deep in a system which did not care for what is only what it thought should be.
You didn't see graphite, because its not there!!!
Sergius Incredible I hate people that act like that it’s like saying something about your house eg I saw an Xbox YOU DIDNY
That's where you made your mistake... I know concrete.
TELL FUCKING GORBACHEV
those dead in agonising pain, they are the real heroes. even their body decomposed, the isotope in then were still radiating neutron flux from the inside. This is the cost of lie.
While I agree the firefighters were heroes who did not deserve their fate, what are you talking about isotopes still radiating neutron flux from the inside? They received a fatal dose of radiation due to working in close proximity to the contents of a reactor core, but that would have been external source radiation. Maybe they inhaled some particles, I suppose, but documentaries about Chernobyl have made it clear the bodies of the injured fire fighters were not actually radioactive. The metal caskets and burial in cement was merely due to a misconception held by the people at the time, and unfortunately still today, apparently. Exposure to gamma radiation does not make things radioactive. Unless the firefighters inhaled huge quantities of radioactive particles, and one would assume they had respirators as standard firefighting equipment, they would have just been normal corpses.
Jesus man. That's not how acute radiation poisoning works...
@@TheDrNinjaman
I agree. They were irradiated not necessarily contaminated.
my fave scene was the Babushka milking the cow and giving a brief history of her place
All gave some

All this because he raised the power
Beautiful editing!
You would think this would teach the world valuable lessons. 33 years have past since Chernobyl, are they listening now? Thanks for the lesson.
Yes of course, nuclear is the cleanest safe energy in the world today.
I feel so bad this was so emotional and all those that where in there with an underserving death they didn’t deserve that punishment 😭
Yo this is amazing
Great work!
soulless fox thanks)
Those firemen’s out there in Chernobyl was the real avenger mannn real avengers 😭😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
And the plant workers, because without their help the firemen would be helpless to stop the fire. The plant workers pumped hydrogen and oils from machinery in the turbine hall where the roof was on fire. They tended to the wounded and made sure that the first steps for the liquidation were set in motion. Never forget about the plant workers, they lost their lives too and left heart broken families behind. They are the true unsung heroes of this whole mess.
Amazing vid.
Not good not terrible!
Yes, yes, and yes
Rest in peace
RIP to all those who lost there lives to the accident and the operators forced to continue the test by dyatlov
This should be the trailer.
And it was the truth.
"What did you learn when making this ?"
"That it is impossible to blame one person, they all thought they had an off button if things got too dangerious, but taking out all but 8 of the control rods was insane, but the men themselves messed up too, they were not experienced enough.
They blew it."
"Every lie Incurs a debt to the true"
If they had been more honest, they would have known the ship they were sailing was prone to flooding.
a nice movie
This makes me sad :((((
It still haunts me how many people don't know about the real story of chernobyl. because the reality was worse than the show.
Grand salute & respect for Pro.Legasov from India 🇮🇳.
Unforgettable Chernobyl series (HBO)
People that worked there knew what they were doing, but when the power comes into wrong hands i goes wrong and its sad.
You’ll do it because it must be done. You’ll do it because nobody else can. And if you don’t, millions will die. If you tell me that’s not enough, I won’t believe you. *This is what has always set our people apart. A thousand years of sacrifice in our veins. And every generation must know its own suffering.* I spit on the people who did this, and I curse the price I have to pay. But I’m making my peace with it, and now you make yours. And go into that water. Because it must be done.
- Boris Shcherbina
This should have been the trailer
and good serial
To the Russians, a just world is a sane world.
...There was nothing sane about Chernobyl.
Wow
good video
"We did everything right "
Ironically they too botched it. But it shouldn't have been a situation with which they could. They were cogs in a machine that was "too big to fail "
In this particular case they did everything right. Az5 was meant to stop a nuclear meltdown. However this button was the actual detonator but they didn't knew. They did everything they could. They even open the water gates manually. Terrifying knowing they would die anyway. Real heroes gave their lives and save God knows how many. Because Dyatlov wasn't satisfied with the results...
@@alHollandi_1998 olld comment but i strongly recommend watching the podcast on the show, the guys they had in shift were NOT the primary operators, they let the reactor stall, panicked and jumpstarted it. I'm not versed enough to give an indepth explanation other than the summery
' we cant have such good things as chernobyl before... Cuz we allways wreck it'
I remember seeing this on .T V
heard the guy that played the one that forced the reactor to go died 2 days ago

The Truth is
"It's cheaper"
the end
Cost of the truth or lies doesn't matter if neither of them weren't cheaper.
Beautiful 15,000/3.6
I think some details are wrong. Diatlov, chief-engineer of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, says in his last Interview in the year 1994, that there was no panic in the control room and he did not have to give words twice. There also is no delivery that Diatlov was angry or shouting at any time. Because of the movie in some scenes there is more "free rollplay" than in reality was.
Garten-Forsttechnik-Jenner Diatlov could lie
If an cief engineer in an Nuclear power plant would act like the actor in this movie or in the other scene plays that were made about that situation that night in Chernobyl power plant i think the other members of the control room would call the security.
Garten-Forsttechnik-Jenner I’m from Russia. Believe me, here it’s normal behavior
@anny791 It is well known that Dyatlov yelled at and threatened his colleagues, especially those on lower positions. He received multiple warnings for it. He was very hotheaded and abused his position occasionally. Nobody was blind and sometimes people would question his motives and actions. Not everything was black and white in the Soviet Union. There were many gray areas of their own
