Yeah apologies to the Emerald. That's my favourite ambush island on that map, works pretty much every time, unless there's a CV scouting.

Monaghan is a meme boat for me. In my last battle with the Gnevny, I was attacking a Kongo and a Friendly Monaghan launched all her torps to this Kongo. I ate every single torp and not even 30s later, he died x)
Once the torps are out, and you're on a one minute reload, she's rather useless :) which is why I generally just yolo, at least that way, my torps hit

oh yeah, it is. If it works - I've had a fair few games where I'd run into a cruiser, and then ended up doing 5k dmg. She has no speed boost, no fuel smoke, nothing.
Rushing enemy DDs in mid-tier, given that you have a hydro, is actually quite neat. She's like the opposite of a Pan-Asian DD - forget about the guns, it's a game of chicken - whoever drops torps first loses.
This ship was MADE for respawn mode! 🤣🤣🤣

If you have the historical camo and build for stealth, you can drop your surface detection to 5.37km. Your torp range is 6.86. Stealth torp is totally doable with this ship. Positioning is critical to survive the match. I’ve played 13 games with it testing it out. Destroyed 19 ships vs 6 times sunk. 1.46 avg sunk per battle and 44k avg damage.
Totally worthless to anything but scout and stealth torp but fun to play
Completely agree, with a fully kitted out ship, you can do that. The reason I haven't gone this route in the review is that I expect when someone pays money to get a premium ship out of the Blitz pass, they'd be able to play it successfully, without having to fork out more money for the historical camo to make it viable. But yes, if you do that, with a full stealth build, it becomes possible - bit tricky still, but possible.
@@FunandGameswithTerry I understand the review. I actually like the way you set up the ships without historical camo for players who don’t want to spend the money on a f2p game.
As for this DD, it’s super tricky to play but devastating if you can pull it off
This will be the first month I will not buy the 24.99 pack. They also changed how you advance through the levels. Since the missions only re-fresh daily/weekly there is a hard cap on progression. This month is a hard pass for me.
I generally pick up a pass if there's a) a premium in it that interests me, and b) I have time that month for grinding. Otherwise I save my money for sales etc.
At the end of the day, everyone's call. I'm happy that it's not a requirement for progressing, just a boost for those who want it.
In the stats and comparison section. Terry, you are speaking my mind. I felted robbed as well. But I still had a lot of fun with this boat.

@FunandGameswithTerry is it possible to play this ship like you would with Druid. Bow in, don't die, but add the YOLO aspect for torps? Or is it not as usable?

Monaghan gives enemy BBs a sneak peak of what shimakaze does to you if you dont learn to dodge torps
Monaghan and shima are probably the only DDs around that can launch 15 torpedos at once
Monaghan does need to avoid pretty much every DD she might encounter because with her guns, even fubuki can outgun her
I think Somers could drop 16, 12 from her three quads + torp reload.

Historically the mark 14 torpedoes sucked lol. Until late war when all of the bugs were worked out. Essentially you couldn't hit a ship at 90 degrees. The fuse crushed itself at that angle.

I was in a Maas and there were 3 of these things on the red team. So easy to gun them down just keep distance cause they have alot of torps, btw I killed all 3 ;)

Ok so it drops 4 tropes and the crew shove one over board so instead of getting 12 tropes on target you get 15 tropes on target so that’s funny
damn, I didn't even realise that, it definitely says 4 torps in the stats, but they magically launch 5. Wow.
WG massively messed up on this ship. I mean, seriously, who came up with the idea of giving a ship with TWO main guns sonar??? If they had given it two speed boosts, two fuel smokes and the ability to get another torp reload with the captain skill "fully prepared", this ship would certainly perform quite well, especially in the hands of a good DD player (it will likely perform well nonetheless, but the average player will probably find it disappointing).
Another thing: Terry do you think Gearing is still a good ship, or has it been replaced by Daring as the best allround destroyer?
I haven't played neither. My gut feeling is that USN DDs have been power crept a little, given the proliferation of radar & sonar, and everyone now having smokes, but I'll have to try these things out at some point.
@@FunandGameswithTerry that is my impression as well, but I have heard that Gearing wins a 1vs1 with a Daring due to better AP. Currently grinding German and British destroyers, and when Im done, I will perhaps start the European ones

I'll be doing some videos on German DDs soon. As for suggestions, yes, the CCs give opinions and feedback on things.
@@FunandGameswithTerry What do you think about a special unlimited cammo if you unlock certain signals?
There is a rather new signal, "recon master", which can be unlocked by getting 500 clash zone medals, which you get for taking 3 caps in a battle. Since this is quite possible for a DD to do, they could give you a special cammo with a typical DD skill, eg -7% detection range and some extra XP and silver. What do you think about this? It would give you the opportunity to further specialize your ship, which is never a bad thing

Yep. 15 torps (once), 3500 alpha, about 40kn, and enough survivability to charge into (but not out of) battleships. Should be able to one-shot anything it encounters. Otherwise useless, unless you invest into historical camo

This pass is not worth, unless you are an American ship collector or just want the resources from the blitz pass, I didn’t really like Farragut. So I wouldn’t like this more or less nerfed version of it. I have only bought two passes so far, the one for Black Bayern and Prinz Eitel Friedrich
The Blitz Pass is crap and it is getting more and more difficult to gain the points to progress without serving missions. I am definitely not going to waste my cash this month.
