I think i may be the only GR86 premium owner in existence that thinks the stock speakers are actually good 😅 I played with the built in EQ and messed with the treble, mid, and bass til i was happy with the sound. No door rattle, great bass response, im very happy.
Premium does come with the amp so we honestly wouldn’t doubt that it sounds good especially after messing with the EQ. Base model owners are the ones really suffering though💀💀
@carantix oh! I saw your spoiler and thought you guys had a premium as well. That makes sense though! Iirc the premium also comes with an additional 2 speakers over the base too. I'm glad you guys are happy with the new setup! Speaker upgrade is next?
My passenger side stock speaker is blown and a couple ppl I know with the gr86 speakers are blown as well !! Only had the car 13 months ago

@@WallsAndFoundations Yeah we wish the base model came with better sound quality from factory plus the additional 2 speakers but we're glad to hear that the premium holds up way better! BTW speaker upgrade is definitely in the future but we have a couple things we want to do first since the sub already adds so much to the car already! 👀

Speakers could be a little louder and clearer but they’re 1000x better when there’s an added “good” sub that covers the low end of the stock speakers. We just wanted something nice and enjoyable without diving into replacing stock speakers since we like bass and that was the main problem for us on the stocks

We do go up Asuza occasionally, would love to go up more often but we all have time constraints 🫠. Maybe you’ll catch us up there one day tho!

Cmon man, they make much better stuff that'll actually sound good and still be in the spare tire spot..
It’s definitely not the best but just curious which brands would be just as cheap, fit with the spare tire, and won’t be overkill for the car?
@@carantix it would involve building a custom enclosure in the spare tire well.
But the options are limitless for more sound then that JBL and for 500$ ouch.
Noted! If we ever revisit, we’ll build a custom enclosure or if too lazy then we’ll get one like Derek’s (BRZ) that barely fits the trunk but thumps like crazy😂😂
