Feel free to ask any questions you have and I'll try my best to answer them.
this might be a weird question to ask, but what do you now since you left Hollywood, are you still working or are you focusing on being a full time parent for your kids?
Is their going to be a even Stevens spinoff 😈
What made you want to start your own CZcams Channel?
If Walt Disney was alive today, would he loved Kim Possible and want to see you personally?
What do you currently do for a living?
I feel like every Y2K kid looked at her as like America’s big sister and now here she is giving us big sisterly advice. Full circle moment. 🌟
You can tell how healthy mentally Christy is; she explains her mistakes and understands what went wrong and changed her behavior from that. 👍 I'm happy for her.
She speaks so eloquently and maturely. At first I came for the nostalgia, then because she's a babe, and finally stayed because she's a great speaker.
its so sad shes penniless now.
So well stated!
@@tatum635 having little money isn't necessarily sad, some people are happier that way.
Yeah - I don’t meet many people who LEARN from their mistakes let alone mention them… I’m always fighting to not make the same mistakes, but life…
It really sucks that you learn these things at 30 years old and not at 18. And it’s like you’re not even ready to hear this when you’re young lol. The world is so strange. Thanks for this video!
I think for many of us we’re not ready to hear this wisdom at 18 because we weren’t primed for it. My most responsible friends who has healthy relationships with their money were raised with financial literacy at a young age. The rest of us didn’t have money conversations until we started working. By then it’s too late. I’m definitely going to make sure my children have exposure to practical life skills and knowledge from a young age. Taught in age appropriate ways and build them up until adulthood.
Youth is wasted on the young.
@@SL-lz9jr That’s exactly it. If you don’t have proper guidance around then you end up reliving the same patterns. Granted, it’s important for young people to make their mistakes and learn for themselves. At 18, I was really hard headed so I doubt I would’ve even listened. Adults have to gently guide their kids to safe directions. I’m not 30 yet but her story definitely opened my eyes. I’ve been investing and working on my finances since watching. My parents couldn’t teach me that a former Disney star could end up broke, but CZcams did lol. Sometimes we just have to find the right methods to break the cycles.
@@qmulus1 so true

I wanna know who films her videos too! Lol
I second this question!!!!!
Ohai! Hope you’re having an okay time still :)
Tia and Tamera mom really set them up. She told her girls in the height of their fame that it doesn’t last forever and to save their money. This is so sad but extremely helpful. Thanks Christy!!!🙏🏾
"It could last a long time, but what if it doesn't?" Thats what i would teach.
What you said about mama Mowrey reminds me, kinda, of Jason Weaver's mom (I think that's his name.) He's most widely known for being young Simba's singing voice in the animated Lion King movie. Disney offered him a deal that most of us would say "Yes" to without a thought. His mom thought it over and said no. Instead, she said to pay him through royalties (or something to that extent) resulting in him being paid less at the time, but being set for life with money coming in throughout it for that singing gig he did when he was just a young boy. The clip of him talking about this is somewhere here on YT. Same with one on how he almost ended up getting JTT's voice acting gig for the Lion King, but the contracts had already been signed.
Having financial literate parents who look out for your best interest is such a blessing.
Yes, I remember Tamera and Jason talking about their experiences. Jason’s mom was a singer and knew the deal to make from her experience in the business.
Tamera
This girl was the crush of most teen boys in the early 2000’s (I was one of them) an to hear her say some guy made her not feel like she was enough is mind blowing to me, you never know what people go through inside, I’m glad to see how far she’s came and how open she is with her experience

As someone who grew up watching you I am so happy you made this video . I am 31 and I am just now learning about Finacial literacy and how money should work for you , etc . You never know how many people are going to watch this and learn from your mistakes . Thank you !!!
Happy to share ❤️
Same here,, I really wish more stars would do this… I sit back and think about how we’ve seen so many fallen by the wayside rather it be to suicide or drugs, alcohol, mental illness, or being taken advantage of in one form or another. These people literally grew with us and we grow up thinking they are living the life, It’s empathically crushing to know so many stars who shaped us in our youth weren’t being shaped guided and looked after. The pieces start to fall in place more to show the answer to the puzzle of why so many go down dark paths and don’t even come out of it… it’s saddening.. truly saddening…
This is why financial literacy is SO IMPORTANT. Kids need to know these things BEFORE they get out of high school!
I haven’t watched the video yet, but I entirely agree. I’m currently going to school for accounting and it’s ironic that I’m currently in debt 10k to have gained any sort of financial literacy because my parents sure as shit didn’t teach it to me.
Are you noticing she's actually speaking about her self-esteem in relation to the money? It's not about teaching children how to obsess over money from an early age... it's about teaching them to have self respect and realizing money really isn't going to fill any "holes" and it's not going to make them think they're "good enough."
Teaching kids to think constantly about money from the moment they're capable of critically thinking is absolutely a recipe for a money-obsessed, stressed-out, and unempathetic adulthood.
@@someinternetweirdo6953 i'm going to have to strongly agree to disagree with you here. financial literacy is taught to make sure that people don't have such an emotional attachment to money because they'd be able to properly handle what they have, and not have to hoard money or treat it like it's burning a hole in their pocket, and what exactly it can do for you that you don't see right in front of you.
@@someinternetweirdo6953 i should actually take a step back from my previous comment and ask you what you think financial literacy is, because from your comment i don't think we're talking about the same thing.
We do learn it in high school, its required in order to graduate but it seems like a very boring class so most take it online and cheat on the tests and quizzes, and most who take it in person mess around in class. I regret not taking it seriously when I took it in high school (2018), I took it online cuz it felt useless and didn't count towards my GPA, but now I'm learning how to do it in math class. Growing up at school when we would talk about it they always told us to never spend more that what we have or don't live above our means.
I feel like you and Alyson Stoner need to get in touch and talk about various topics surrounding childhood fame/money/other stuff that comes with being in the industry as a kid or young adult. You both are so intelligent and have such unique and amazing insight into these topics. I feel like it could help not only kids who are currently in the industry, but also creative people as a whole.

I just want to thank Christy for her vulnerability her journey is amazing and insightful and such a beautiful soul what a great role model.
It’s incredible how mentally healthy and emotionally aware she is. That’s so counter intuitive for the typical child star. She’s in a great place despite going through the brutal Hollywood machine.
People tend to forget that acting is a very unstable career - each job is an individual position - it’s always up in the air. You don’t have a constant inward flow of cash - you get paid one gig at a time.
Which is why saving is so important. Even if you have a steady income you dont know when you will have an emergency, get sick or lose a job
@@melissahowe6254 not even money can save you sometimes ,like if you get cancer ,it's a death sentence a lot of the times
I love how open and transparent you are about everything! Thank you for being honest and vulnerable with us! I loved you when I was a kid and love you even more now as an adult ❤️
I’m loving these casual, real talks. They feel so much genuine than some of your other content
Child actors rarely make it to the same level of adult acting, but from their perspective, they all expect to. It's weird because Christy's acting career is still far better than most other Disney stars and I'm sure everyone still thinks of her as being rich from her acting. I love these honest behind-the-scenes videos. So honest, raw, unscripted and just gets right into it.
You can probably count them on two hands. The big one that comes to mind is Ron Howard. From child actor to teen/young adult actor, to director of many successful movies.
Why in the world would people tell this woman she wasn't good enough? She's seems so down to earth and amazing, we all live and learn and I appreciate her solid advice and openness to share her life story.
Thank you for your kind words ❤️
That’s the part I didn’t understand, good enough for what??
@@christycarlsonromano thank you for the wisdom you rock!
To be honest you don’t know her and neither do I.
I wasn’t good enough at one point and I had to grow. If she has grown to be competent then that means she wasn’t good enough.
OK.
It's like this.
There are people who want to dominate you - for various reasons. These people will try to undermine your confidence in yourself. They want to make you dependent on THEM so they can take advantage of you.
There are men - who use this method to dominate women - so the women will have sex with them.
Here - you have the "We accept the level of love we thing we deserve" syndrome.
There's a tendency among women to think that they are not worthy of love - and the worst thing you can do as a guy in love with one of these women - is to compliment her on how she is impressive. These women - if they really are really attractive - have people telling them that all the time and they will lose respect for you if you do that. So - what should you do? There isn't anything you can do - except just treat them as human beings (or if your a jerk put them down so you can dominate them). The first - will not get you their pants - while the second might. Here - you need to decide what you value more - the type of human being who is actually a good person (known as a loser to the winners) or a jerk who gets laid more often.
Now - IF - you are a really handsome guy - that's different. You don't have to do anything to get girls like this - they are falling all over you. So - it's better to be really handsome - and smart - and rich - and healthy - and ...
.

She seems like a genuinely good person and much respect to her.
I’m hoping with Disney Plus that the residuals and almost revitalization of these shows’ popularity is giving you enough to be at the very least comfortable with your kids and yourself!
There was no Disney+ when Even Stevens created they probably don’t get a dime from those shows being sold with that service. Scarlett Johansson and Emma Stone are suing them right now for not being paid for their movies being released this year. I could be totally wrong but Disney doesn’t have the reputation of taking good care of their actors.
@@pamelalansbury94 Scarlett Johannson is suing Disney because of breach of contract. Black Widow was supposed to be a theatrical release only, not both theatrical and streaming. She still got paid tens of millions of dollars, she just got less than she expected

There’s a show on Netflix called “cooking with Paris” where she brings on high profile celebrities and cooks. Pretty much what you do. Except hers is so damn boring and quiet and awkward. I just kept thinking about how exciting it would be for you to have your own cooking show on Netflix because I know it would be so much fun and interesting like it is here on CZcams
I love the honesty. Not to mention the fact that you dropped out and went back to school at 30 inspires me.
Thank you.
This is the first video I'm seeing of you. As a 24 year old this advice is super helpful and refreshing. Hearing your practical advice and life experience is priceless, thank you.
I really do love your channel and appreciate how real/vulnerable you are. As someone who is in the arts myself these are very helpful in adding a real insight into what really goes on behind the scenes. Much love!
