About Christy Carlson Romano:
Welcome to the official Christy Carlson Romano CZcams channel! Christy has been a working actress and singer since she was 6 years old. She moved to Los Angeles with her mother when she was 14 to star in the Disney Channel franchise, Even Stevens as Ren Stevens alongside Shia LaBeouf. Christy enjoyed many years with Disney gaining an Emmy nomination for her voice work as Kim Possible and starring on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast. She went on to balance her college career at Barnard College, Columbia University with filming movies for ABC Family including: ‘Campus Confidential’, ‘Taking Five’, ‘The Cutting Edge 2: Going for the Gold’, and ‘The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream’. Christy returned to Broadway in her mid twenties and learned to be a puppeteer in the Tony-Award winning ‘Avenue Q’. Christy was married to her husband on New Years Eve , 2013 in Banff, Canada after having met in a screenwriting class in college. She became impassioned with directing and made her debut in Lionsgate’s “Christmas All Over Again”. Well, that’s because of what is, of course you can’t picture it because you never saw it. If Christy had gotten it, you would probably say the same today about Anne Hathaway. It’s just how life is, you’re use to what exists already. It’s interesting to think about though, because it’s true, your acting improves based on the work you continue to do.
It simply cannot be stated enough how cool it is that Christy basically created a new type of video entertainment. The moving walk through nature with the intertwined sounds of insects alongside good stories is just perfect

This may get lost in the comments but I am strong believer in “What’s meant for you will ALWAYS be meant for you.” Christy wasn’t meant for these certain roles because maybe she wouldn’t be who she is today if she had obtained them. But the impact she is making now, the PERSONAL real life people-to-people impact will have a forever effect on us. Just wait and see. Her channel will be in the millions some day and I can’t wait to come back and say “I told you so” 😊❤️

The sad part is Christy you didn’t even lose the role to Anne you just never even had a shot which I know makes it harder to deal with, but the way you’ve taken it as a lesson and used it to be grateful for all the beautiful blessings you do have. Elsewhere, I posted about Disney and the child star thing... I think there's a similar bias towards women in Hollywood as a whole (which ties in to my feelings about the media est.) where they expect/need women to be sexy yet wholesome... strong, but somewhat docile... all in an attempt to keep the glamor, glitz, and enviable fantasy (not the right term, but I hope you get the idea) of Hollywood, so that we continue to watch and buy the myths and social demands that they're selling and ramming down our throats.
Wow, this really is the 1st time I’ve ever heard a famous person admit stories of missed opportunities and that takes a very secure person to do that. It makes me realize I shouldn’t hang on to feelings of “should of, could of”. I know Christie didn’t get that big blockbuster movie but she is definitely considered one of the successful actors. I’m sure if she wanted to get back into that business she’d do well because she already has the talent, looks and charisma.

In the actor/film world, they would have been considered the same "type," well not now, but then - tall, thin, brunette, smart, a little over-confident.

@@raquelalexandra7977 Of course she should. If you previously worked with someone and admire their work then it's pretty normal to put them on the top of the list rather than go with an unknown. Directors always reach out to actors/actresses that they'd like to audition for the role. Have you ever had a job before?
@@jimduggan8962 you still had to AUDITION though. They did probably contact her management which is why she knew about it. She just didn't audition because of other engagements.
She didn't even go to the audition. Her connection to AH is as tenous as their physical resemblance.
Interesting. They just did a 4 page spread about the Princess Diaries in the September issue of Cosmo. It talked all about casting choices, such as Scarlett Jo, Kate Hudson, etc. but when Anne auditioned they fell immediately in love with her. Seems there were SOO many options that the competition was just too fierce! All lovely leading ladies- you all would have done a great job!

I just love your honesty. So many people are scared to admit they wanted things or that certain opportunities didnt happen and you feel you missed out. To be fair, Anne Hathaway’s career didn’t immediately take off after her princess roles. In fact, she has stated over the years that she struggled to be taken seriously as an actress because of those movies.

You have definitely discovered the right format for this channel. That combined with your interesting way of thinking (mainly common sense), makes for an enjoyable watch.
The message of this video was exactly what I needed to hear. It's been so hard trying to find a full time job and the last one I interviewed for felt so right for me and I just knew I was going to get it. But I didn't. And I felt crushed for a few days. But that doesn't mean I'm a failure or that it's never going to come. Just that it wasn't the right path for me.
That happened to me recently as well for a life-changing dream job. I even spent a week working with the company and the three employees and I thought everything was great. Our philosophies aligned, I did well, we all got along, I had tons of ideas, etc. But I got a rejection letter. I don't really understand, but I was just me and did the best I could, so if that's not enough, oh well, I guess. Just need to keep looking for what's right for me. I am annoyed though because I feel kind of led on and there were some things that in hindsight are kind of odd, so maybe it's for the best.
This implies that there is an alternate timeline where we would have gotten versions of Les Miserables and Interstellar with you in those roles instead, and now that I think about it, I kinda wanna just hop over there and give those movies a watch 😊

But I do wanna add that the reason why we see actors and actresses as mythical people is because we always see them as having access to a lot of things regular people don't have like money, material things, travel. These are things out of my reach. For instance, l've been here most of my life and have never been able to afford traveling to places like New York or Hawaii.
I think you would’ve been great in a live action beauty and the beast. If they had done that around this time.

Every time I hear your stories I always remember how true it is when they say God all takes us on a different path from the one we dream of not because he doesn’t wanna see us do great things but because maybe that path isn’t the one that we think may bring us the happiness we believe it will. You are the person you are today because of the experiences you’ve been though and without these “missed opportunities” maybe you wouldn’t be where you are today. God had really guided your path for the good even if it may not feel that way.

I don't think you should feel any less talented or worthy even though other people got these roles/record deals. Its a testament of your work ethic and skills that you were in the running. I hope these videos yield a talk show or even some kind of hosting opportunity for you. You seem very genuine and hardworking.
Such a great video. I never confused you two honestly. I think you and Anne have different acting styles. I enjoyed how you compared the difference between men getting roles and women getting roles. Hollywood and a lot of other places are very sexist unfortunately.
