Finally got my transplant last Tuesday from Dr. Lincov. Hands down AMAZING results already showing and when I tell you EXACTLY what he says he does from start to finish is EXACTLY what he does and this is his exact same personality and how he speaks. I’m VERY satisfied. From Registered Nurse to doctor thank you again Dr. Lincov and your team. Blessings.
My pleasure!!! Thanks for the kind words. It was awesome having you in the clinic.
You’re not gonna see results after a week!😂

Can you do a skin cancer video? I feel like there isn't enough awareness regarding this.
Moderate sun ☀️ exposure is key to prevent it .
@@theancientsancients1769 Dermatologists cannot prescribe any amount of safe sun exposure. For many individuals, sun exposure can cause damage very quickly, even in less than 5 minutes.
That's the main "physical health consequence" of baldness. UV damage, e.g., skin cancer is significantly more prevalent for people with no/much less hair. Androgenic alopecia also considerably worsens the quality/"thins your skin" (all layers except the galea). I've not found studies on this, but since hair follicles are also involved in healing damaged skin/wound healing, there might be other adverse effects not scientifically investigated/known.
This is a small thing, but I love how you refer to your videos as “our channel” and “we have a video.” It just shows how much you appreciate your team and it’s amazing to see.
It's definitely a team effort. And I surely have an amazing team.
@@drgarylinkov Not sure where to ask this, but as far as the scientific literature i've read over the last few years indicates, swelling isn't the villain it used to be deemed as for recovery. Seems that despite the relief cold or elevation (from RICE) might give from pain or pressure, more blood flow to the area seems to help the area heal better.
Would this apply to a hair transplant, too? Seems another important factor in recovery is sleep, so resting slightly more horizontal after a procedure might be conducive to better sleep and more blood juice to the head to nurture and heal the grafts. It's also totally possible the swelling around the head would just induce headaches and pressure to the point they can't sleep at all.
What's the good Doctor Linkov's take on this.
Cheers for all the insight,
Love how understanding you are about people's budgets, yet remain adamant with your staff and clinic structure. May you always have a full client list!
Finasteride does not “lower testosterone”, it lowers DHT. The medication actually RAISES systemic testosterone (by about 10-15%) as less of it is being 5 alpha-reduced and converted to DHT.
Yes, but DHT is a much more potent androgen than testosterone. So, any effects of higher testosterone would be more than offset by the lower DHT levels. This refers most commonly to sexual side effects and motivation and energy levels.
❤❤
@@ordoabchao4202DHT has different effects compared to testosterone. DHT isn’t just some supercharged version of testosterone. So the video being reviewed is just straight up wrong with the testosterone claims, implications or not
@jahstinful from what I have read and experienced during the short period when I tried Propecia, I gather that DHT is in fact a (sort of) supercharged version of T. That doesn't mean that it can't have different effects, too.
@@ordoabchao4202 DHT is very androgenic but it is ONLY effective in the areas it's produced (prostate, skin and hair follicles) as an adult man since the hormone is intracrine in the tissues it's produced rather than endocrine like testosterone. It doesn't matter how adrogenic it is when it can't be used beyond the tissues it's produced. Most other areas in your body deactivates DHT by 3a-HSD and turns it into a very weak androgen called 3α-diol. Saying it's some super charged testosterone is straight up BS. If you replaced all your testosterone with DHT it would be effectively the same as castrating yourself.
The reason why you can get sexual side effects from finasteride is not because you lower DHT but because you raise testosterone by around 10% when you take it which means you will have a slightly higher conversion of testosterone to estrodiols and for men that are especially sensetive to estrodiols will experience problems with their libido.

Just found this channel after my haurtransplant. Done in the Netherlands. Binge watching since yesterday. Great videos!

My long lost partner
Advice for the people who want to go Turkey. I got my hair done at Sulehair; literally painless. My hairline turned out fantastic and it's only 6 months; however only downside is the consultation; it was somewhat rushed and felt like a transaction...but the result was great. In Australia it would have cost 7 times the price.
Which method did you get? And how much did you pay? Did you do 3 500 grafts?
My older brother started balding in his mid 20s while my hairline stayed strong, I used to poke gentle fun at him over it. I just kind of assumed that maybe I'd be one of the lucky few who get to keep their hair into old age, we have a few men in my family who have done.. then about a year ago at 31, my balding started making up for lost time. I went from a full head of very thick hair to the receding hair line and pretty intense thinning on the crown very quickly. Karma for my jokes at my brothers expense. Needless to say he's enjoying it very much.
I started losing my hair when I was really young. There was one guy I used to work with way back who had this thick impressive head of hair and always made fun of me. He would be the last guy I'd thought would lose his hair. Fair enough, I saw him on Facebook about 10 years ago. He's now bald as a coot. You just never know what's further down the path.
I'm currently 25 and have been taking minoxidil for 7 months and it definitely restores lost hair, I had a few bald spots that now have hair that had been completely bald

Doesn’t Finasteride INCREASE overall testosterone by decreasing the synthesis of DHT? Repeatedly in his video it’s mentioned that he experienced side effects related to decreased testosterone levels - of which is somewhat dubious if my above thought is correct.
Thanks for the great video!
You’re right, testosterone goes up, I didn’t make that correction in my comments.
Yeah finasteride has no negative impact on test levels, it's purely DHT reduction and therefore a slight increase in testosterone.
I thought this too and expected Gary to correct. Glad to see it followed up here
Since it increases T, does it mean gym goers will see some different results?
im curious too about this, seems logical that it will be beneficial

Was just going to mention, that in southern california under medical, my local clinic doctor wasn't even able to offer oral minoxidil. Was very sad. Feel like we should be able to get at least 2% over the counter.
Dr Gary's I am quite shocked many plastic surgery procedures, hair graphs, and as you and the gentleman who made the video mentioned dental procedures that I can assure should either be done with general anesthesia as opposed to needles stuck in an already super sensitive mouth for a root canal. Xanax or Valium wouldn't help much as I already am prescribe the afore 1mg 3 x daily. Not because I like them, I've been on them for 15 years due to panic attacks and night terrors. I have terrible panic attacks so my Dr and I choose this and I still suffer horrible night terrors. It is unbelievable I get stuck in dreams where I'm being tortured by very evil people. I can't recall if I feel pain but I don't wake until someone hears me scream and shakes me. I'm not quite sure who the people in those dreams terrorizing me are but thinking now likely my last dentist with his evil needles and chair he never warns when he will push me up or down. Yeah I do need general anesthesia and then a needle prior to waking for that pain!
One note about the mentioning of lower testosterone: taking finasteride actually increases testosterone levels in the body, as the testosterone that would be turned into DHT is simply not converted.
But then the negative feedback mechanism kicks in and it can be converted to oestrogen via aromatisation.
No use of testosterone if it's functional variant itself is not available.
Dear Dr Linkov, could you please talk about female balding, especially related to insulin resistance and thyroid problems, how the could be treated (selenium, etc), how long it takes to recover? Thank you. 🙂

Also, can you open a second practice over here in CA 😎 lol
Finasteride is tablet form only minoxidil has both tablet and topical form
Thanks for the informative video!! Are mesenchymal stem cells and exosomes treatment equally effective? Some Hair Restoration businesses offer this treatment.
What are your thoughts on verteporfin and how it might be used in practice one day?
May I ask what would cause extremely rapid receding hairline? I always had a little bit as I am 36... but in the passed 2 months it has become BAD. If I continue at this rate I will be completely bald by the time i'm 40.
This was such a well documented video and thanks for your commentary.
I'm a month since my FUE in Turkey and it's a long road. The biggest struggle first month is the washing of hair with the foam and shampoo, washing hair everyday and not being able to apply a cream just made my scalp feel so dry. I eventually used aloe Vera gel after week 3. The itchiness just stopped like a week ago, the donor area. It wasn't a bad itch but there.
I didn't leave a feedback for my clinic when though they wanted a video of me while there, I prefer to wait the whole post op than leave a review on the day of the operation.
They were nice, professional and hopefully 6 months time I'll be able to document my journey too but nothing before. I'm not going to send hopefuls to a clinic just because they were nice on the day of the OP.
20:28, if Finisteride is to prevent hair loss, and I've had HT of good follicles to transplant area, what's the logic behind using it? It's so depressing to think one would use a tablet for life at a risk of E.D, I'd rather be a bald head with a full hard one than Tarzan with head full of hair and got a floppy snake 🐍.
Thanks for the video.

$5,190.50 for the transplants, but how much would it cost including travel to and from, hotel, food during the stay...?
I have a question about finasteride and minoxidil , At the clinic they told me that the Topical solution that they produce that contains finasteride and minoxidil + other ingredients would be enough treatment without the pills and would also be reduced side effects of the medicine. My question: Is the topical solution as effective as taking the pills? if not do you recommend taking the pills (finasteride and minoxidil) and topical solution at the same time? Also would it be better if I got a pill cutter and micro dose finasteride and minoxidil with the topical solution? what do you think Doc. Also thanks in advance.
8:50- and the more harsh truth is for someone is was depressed before experiencing hairloss, then later get on finasteride, Starts having all the side effect with no gains, will worsen their depression

Great video. How effective is topical finasteride vs oral finasteride?
I am confused. Everything I have read says that finesteride actually raises testosterone levels by 10-15%?
Really? Never even heard of a raise in test.
There's a special place in hell for the people who choose where to place the ads in CZcams videos
The nape of the neck is common as well, so is all over defusing
Finasteride, originally prescribed to counter prostate hyperplasia, turned out to heighten the risk of more agressive prostate cancer at a later age.
Dr. Linkov, since you mentioned your Minoxidil video, I'm wondering whether one can use salicylic acid in a face cleanser, or whether that would interfere with the Minoxidil?
Speak to your derm but i would not expect any problems with this combo (provided the SA is used on the face and min on the scalp)
Honestly i feel like balding is a business. It should have a perfect cure by now but that would just ruin all the business.
Doctors can't cure many diseases. Medical science hasn't progressed much in the past 50 years
Doctor I have a question. Is it recommended to stop taking finesteride and minoxidil before your hair transplant? As someone who has been taking both for a few years now and have decided to go through with surgery, I've geen told to stop taking it about a month before the procedure and was just curious on your thoughts.
if you've already been taking it I think just continue, from what I've heard they suggest you don't start before, so that the transplant doctor can judge the donor area better... however taking it before means that you wont need as many grafts as you've stabilised more hair
@Dimitri: The continuous intake of Finasteride is very important to protect the transplanted hair from attacks of DHT, and to keep the hair you still have.Using minoxidil on freshly transplanted sites, I would be very careful, would even suspend it for some time. Unfortunately, minoxidil and finasteride have a synergistic effect. The quality of the hair that is affected could decrease.
Don't stop finasteride but stopping Minoxidil a week before surgery is fairly normal
Hey Doc, I would love to know what you think about the mix spray(fin and minox). How does it compare vs pills.
7:22 it doesn't "lower testosterone". It "stops" testosterone from converting to DHT. So, it actually increases testosterone.

Doc, what do we think about rosemary oil as a substitute for Rogaine? What do we think about rosemary oil for hair regrowth in general?
12:28 but aren't test levels not still the same (or slightly higher) on finasteride? If test is not getting converted into dht then wouldn't there be marginally more instead of less test?
Correct, fin does not decrease testosterone levels.
your eyebrow is growing
Here is the problem with the reported numbers of side effects. They are only the reported ones. Many people stop taking it without reporting side effects.
Hey, can you make a video (or comment response) sharing your thoughts on the effects of oral minoxidil and accelerated skin aging? This is something that is making me hesitant to take it as I have quite youthful skin and would ideally not prefer to have that side effect. I am not confident that it is entirely true though, so I would love your thoughts. Thank you!

It is curious that people still think that Finasteride does not regrow hair given that we have numerous studies up to 10 years that categorically demonstrate that it regrows hair in the majority of people that take it. The data is there, why are these people making videos about baldness and finasteride without knowing this?
On a celebrity take, can we get one on Gwen Stefani? Ty love your content

Embracing my balding head and shaving it off was by far the best decision. I gave so much contemplation weather to go to turkey and do a hair transplant. I sat down and had a thorough conversation with myself journaling. I asked my self am I scared to lose my hair because of vanity or insecurity? And that made me ponder even more, and it was a bit of both.. so if it was vanity (which is natural) can I not amplify other areas of my appearance or personality in a positive push with vanity and if it’s an insecurity…. What am I really shying away from and in fear of by losing my hair? Which gave me two avenues to go down and explore even more. While at the same time reading and seeing all this positive testimonials of people.
I’ve always trained and kept a good shape, I can grow a full and well kept beard… let me work and improve on those aspects of my appearance and most importantly work on my self as a whole and try to close the gap of the lack of vanity / increased insecurity….
One thing that I never heard about once in my whole time searching for remedies or surgery etc…. Was the mental health aspect…. I think it is as important as any stage of the process. Once you get down to the root cause of the fear of hair loss it gets a lot less foggy area to navigate.
Hope it works out for you in the long term but I would advice start slowly figuring out a way to reach you’re desired goal for when the medicine stops working it’s magic and you will eventually lose the hair.

To be honest, any side effects caused by treatments is less worry to me than the alternative for me. I don't think it is necessarily bad advice for a lot of men out there, but the only good the "just shave it bro" advice got me was cracking my egg.
@@Kermthefrog bro couldn’t be happier for you. At least you tried the main “solution” … didn’t work out, no prob. Keep growing and improving my guy. Good luck to you. God bless
@@Mr---mr4ll you too man, I'm glad the bald life was for you.
