Hats off to the costume department because these costumes are insanely good.
They’re not street costumes for Cicada On A Stick? All they need is Justin Timberlake … “take it on down to Cicada Town”.
Big improvement over those bee costumes way back in the late 1970s.
The fact that they usually are whipping costumes like these up in a matter of a few days continues to amaze me

I love how kenan ,and marcello were having so much fun with this- they totally played it up with their long legs, and cicada sounds. And colin was hilarious with that Gucci Gucci song.
A cicada flew into my head so hard I got whiplash. True story.
Impossible. A cicada does not have enough mass to inflict whiplash on anyone. You probably just jerked your head so hard it strained your neck muscles.

We had our part of Brood X three (years ago).I love them! They only hurt a few tree branches and provide an endless source of protein to animals and birds. Thedead carcasses also fertilize the ground! It DOES get LOUD!
A moment to appreciate while Keenen did his tried and true Keenen voice, Marcello added a guttural vibrating cicada burn undertone that sounded way more easy to do that it was!

I remember the 2007 cicadas. My grandma caught one and showed it to me as i cowered in the corner then cried. It was a freaky creature.
I remember debating online about marriage equality in 2007 lol crazy that was 8 years before it was accepted. Wildness. I guess it was brave back then but it just felt like common sense. One of the forum mods tried to delete me and it screwed up the whole forum lol so he had to put it back. Good times.

I lived through the 2011 brood in Illinois. It was *awful*. This sketch is soooo spot on and hilarious.

Summer of 2021 was traumatic lol (I’m terrified of bugs and yes I know I’m a little b*tch)… I was at the gas station ducking cicadas just tryna fuel up so I could make it home when I heard a lady say “there’s one on you!”… I look up and everyone is staring at me and someone else says “it’s on the back of your shirt” and I just start screaming and running in circles… then as I’m running another one smacks right into my face… then a man maybe in his 40s-50s with caring father energy ran over, wiped all the cicada parts and juices off of me, then brought me back to the safety of my car and said “stay here ok?”. Then he finished filling up my car with gas lol. A HERO😅.
