Marcello graduated at my high school. A world class talented man, hilarious comedy man. I remember my senior year, and he was a 7th grader playing soccer and hanging out. He always had a crowd around him laughing. Good to see him flourish.

This is very relatable for me because Ecuadorian MIL had sisters who could shade me just as well as Mami. That might be a weird thing to notice, but I was just impressed by how Pedro could get 99% of the original contents into the bin from that height without even looking. If I'd tried that, that stuff would've been everywhere

I can’t😂. This reminded me of the time the doctor told my mom she had diabetes and she responded saying “keep it. I dont want that. I got enough going on.” And she was serious about it. She carried on not dealing with it and never affected her 😂
This skit was genius! Whoever wrote it was so spot on, especially throwing out the cookies to use the tin for sewing supplies, and the end, when they fall in love with her because she wants to feed their son! Classic Latina mom behavior! OMG!
As a Filipina, everything the tía, and mamá do is so relatable! My mom, my lola, and titas are the same way: cookie tin as a sewing kit, not understanding mental health, saying we never eat enough (except in my family they also will say we are getting fat, in the same breath)!
You wouldn't believe how many Southern Grandmas do this too. I remember being in middle school and visiting my great aunt and on her coffee table was a cookie tin with a half finished knitting project that looked to be about the same age as my Dad (this relative had somewhat of a hoarding issue) and knitting needles that looked very old. Going to her house kinda gave my the creeps.
Clearly, there were a lot of Spanish-speakers in the audience, judging from the knowing laughter. But Marcello did a great job of scripting in a way that knowledge of Spanish wasn’t necessary to follow the dialog. Bien hecho!

However, my wife was born and raised in Spain where her dad worked for 20 years. She didn’t move to the U.S. until she was 13. She is the one who taught our kids to speak Spanish.

This skit was genius! Whoever wrote it was so spot on, especially throwing out the cookies to use the tin for sewing supplies, and the end, when they fall in love with her because she wants to feed their son! Classic Latina mom behavior! OMG!

As a Filipina, everything the tía, and mamá do is so relatable! My mom, my lola, and titas are the same way: cookie tin as a sewing kit, not understanding mental health, saying we never eat enough (except in my family they also will say we are getting fat, in the same breath)!
You wouldn't believe how many Southern Grandmas do this too. I remember being in middle school and visiting my great aunt and on her coffee table was a cookie tin with a half finished knitting project that looked to be about the same age as my Dad (this relative had somewhat of a hoarding issue) and knitting needles that looked very old. Going to her house kinda gave my the creeps.
Clearly, there were a lot of Spanish-speakers in the audience, judging from the knowing laughter. But Marcello did a great job of scripting in a way that knowledge of Spanish wasn’t necessary to follow the dialog. Bien hecho!

I think that's what made the skit so genius. Their tone and the occasional english made it easy for everyone to understand, and those of us who don't speak spanish felt like the girl, who could clearly tell they were talking shit lol

Being a Latino raised in America, this sketch hit home on so many levels. And, yes, I grew up and married a white American girl. However, my wife was born and raised in Spain where her dad worked for 20 years. She didn’t move to the U.S. until she was 13. She is the one who taught our kids to speak Spanish.
